Rollins should turn heel again

5 reasons why Seth Rollins should turn heel: Paving the way for Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Title?

Wait, what? Turn Seth Rollins heel just days after winning the WWE Universal Title from a heel Lesnar? Yes, you read that right. Seth Rollins is the Architect who is loved by the fans.

It is one of the reasons why he got the belt in the first place as fans wanted to see the belt on him rather than Brock Lesnar. After all, Lesnar was viewed as the devil who kept the princess (Universal Title) hostage and Rollins was the prince that rescued her from the hands of the villain.

So, why should the Universal Title become the ring of Sauron and corrupt whoever that touches it? In the case of Rollins, here are 5 reasons why he should go down that path.

#5 You can take Seth Rollins out of the heel role but you can’t take the heel out of him

Seth Rollins is everything you could ask from a WWE Superstar. He has the looks, the charisma, can cut brilliant promos and highly talented in the squared circle. Maybe he could be a bit bigger but that is negligible.

Basically, Rollins has the looks of a face but no-one can argue that his heel-ish tendencies lie beneath the handsomeness.

Let’s face it: how did he beat Brock Lesnar? At first on RAW before WrestleMania, he went low on Lesnar twice before stomping him dead center in the ring.

Then at WrestleMania, Seth Rollins was being battered by Lesnar left and right before Rollins went on low on him while the referee wasn’t watching. After that, he stomped him three times to win the Universal Title.

You see, he might be a babyface, but he had to embrace the heel inside him to slay the Beast at the Grandest Stage of them All.

#4 His best works are as a heel

When Rollins almost 'killed' Edge

Seth Rollins might have been a face ever since Triple H turned on him in 2016 but the truth is that some of his best work in the WWE came when he was a heel. One can never forget how he held Edge hostage so that John Cena could reinstate the Authority and when Cena did allow them back, Rollins said, "You should know me better than that, John...I'm gonna [sic] kill him anyway," before attempting to stomp Edge.

It was an instant classic that is going to stay with the fans forever. Rollins has a natural flair as a heel. He might be called ‘crossfit Jesus’ for his looks but there is a real Lucifer in him that allows him to be such a good heel.

His maniacal slow-paced laugh, too, adds another layer to his heel character.

#3 Raw needs better heels

Imagine these two as heels

Which brings us to this point. The lack of heels on RAW has been a concern for a while now. Drew McIntyre is the only one that convinces with Psychopath persona but apart from him, no-one stands out.

While Superstar Shakeup is around the corner, Rollins is almost certainly not going to SmackDown as he has the title corresponding to RAW on his shoulder. As a result, RAW could have a great villain if he turns heel. It also saves WWE from…

#2 Monotony

Rollins hits Lesnar

Over the last year, this is something WWE have suffered with. Last year, when AJ Styles held the WWE Championship, he was a face. Roman Reigns, who was also a face, held the Universal Title at the same time.

Then, two heels – Daniel Bryan and Lesnar – won the WWE Championship and Universal Title respectively. And now, two faces once again hold the two most prestigious title in the business.

This leads to monotony and turning Rollins heel could change that.

#1 Paving the way for Reigns

Could they face each other in the future?

This might be an unpopular opinion. In fact, I personally don’t want to see Reigns anywhere the title picture for at least a couple of months. However, we all know that it is not going to happen as the Big Dog is loved by Vince McMahon, which means he won’t be out of the big picture for long.

While Roman Reigns could actually move to SmackDown during Superstar Shakeup – which could almost certainly lead to a confrontation with Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship (even then, Kofi as heel? Meh.) – if he stays at RAW, the only way to put him up against Rollins would be to turn the latter heel.

Obviously, Reigns himself can turn heel but given that Reigns is finally getting the cheers that WWE wanted, it would be easier and more sensible to make Rollins the heel and start a feud for the Universal Title between the two ‘brothers’.
