5 Superstars who could return at WWE TLC 2019

WWE will host its final PPV of 2019, TLC, on December 15. WWE has left it late to announce matches for the show, but it's turning out to be an exciting show with some interesting matches on offer.

The show could be where some feuds end and new ones begin, but could also be a great way to start new feuds ahead of Royal Rumble, which takes place in January.

TLC could also be a great way to bring Superstars back into the WWE, those that have been out due to injury, or have taken a break, or those that have had no storylines going for them.

Let's take a look at 5 Superstars who could return at WWE TLC 2019:

#5 Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury, surprisingly, made a brief switch to WWE, feuding with Braun Strowman, which ended with a match at Crown Jewel earlier this year. Fury won the match by count-out against Strowman in Saudi Arabia.

Fury sets his sights back on Deontay Wilder and the two will step back in the boxing ring sometime next year. But, that doesn't rule out another match in WWE for the boxing champ. In an exclusive interview Sportskeeda's Gary Cassidy, Fury revealed that there are no plans for a match in WWE right now, but he won't fule out a match in the future.

"No plans as of yet to do another fight as of yet, just go back to my day job, but after that - who knows? You might see another appearance after this one."

He then revealed the Superstar he would like to face in WWE next:

"If I was to continue, I would want to fight Brock Lesnar."

Lesnar is not booked for TLC, but could we maybe see Fury make a special guest appearance, and challenge the current WWE Champion? It's a possibility. That could be a great way to set up a WrestleMania match for next year.

#4 The Usos

The Usos have been off WWE television for a really long time, with their last match in WWE coming way back in July.

The brothers have been off WWE television due to WWE creative not having any storylines for them at the moment. Their issues away from the ring, notably Jimmy Uso's arrest due to DUI, could be another reason for their current hiatus.

The Usos are free agents after not being included in this year's WWE Draft, which could mean that they could go to RAW or SmackDown upon their return to WWE. Could WWE perhaps bring the 6-time Tag Team champions back at WWE TLC to set up a new feud going into 2020? There's a possibility.

The New Day, who have had history with The Usos, defend their SmackDown Tag Team titles at TLC against The Revival. We could maybe see The Usos return and add themselves to this feud, and become the latest additions to the blue brand.

#3 John Morrison

John Morrison re-signed with WWE recently, returning to the promotion after spending 8 years away, wrestling in the indies, Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling, to name a few promotions.

Morrison has not been assigned to any brand at the moment, but he could be added to RAW, SmackDown, or NXT. He is yet to make an appearance on WWE television since signing for them, and adding him as a surprise entrant in the Men's Royal Rumble elimination match next month will be the obvious choice, but could WWE bring him back earlier at TLC?

While it may seem like a left-field choice compared to Royal Rumble, a return at TLC could set him up instantly in a singles feud. We could maybe see him feud with someone like The Miz or Rey Mysterio, or even Ricochet (which both Superstars have teased recently), which could maybe begin at TLC.

#2 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe has not been in a WWE ring for a while, with his last match coming back in the first week of September. Joe, though, has been on WWE television, albeit as a commentator on RAW, replacing Dio Maddin behind the mic.

Joe has been very good as a commentator and WWE announced recently that he will be behind the commentary desk until he's fit and recovered from his injury. He has been a contributor to WWE Backstage on FOX as well.

But, Joe needs to get back in the ring, as it's where he belongs. While we don't know the extent of his injury and when he will be ready to get back in the ring, it could be soon, as he has been out for weeks and he may be ready to return.

He could perhaps be on the commentary desk, doing his job, before someone attacks him, or falls on him while commentating, which could be the perfect way to set up a feud, and his return to WWE.

#1 Brock Lesnar

The criticism that was laid upon Brock Lesnar when he was Universal Champion was that he did not defend his title enough, and didn't feature on WWE television as much.

Not much has changed in that regard after becoming WWE Champion. Lesnar has had few matches - 8 in total in 2019, with his last one coming at Survivor Series, where he defeated Rey Mysterio.

Lesnar is not booked for TLC, but he could maybe return to set up a new feud, with Royal Rumble just over a month away. The Beast is sure to wrestle at Royal Rumble, which is one of the big four PPVs in WWE, and he doesn't have an opponent at the moment.

We aren't quite sure what Cain Velasquez's status with WWE is at the moment as he is currently battling an injury that could see him out for a while. If Velasquez is fit, he could be an opponent for Lesnar at Royal Rumble.
