5 Surprises to expect on WWE RAW next week: Roman Reigns' announcement & more

Surprises bring the ratings. Last week's episode of RAW saw 4 surprise main roster-call ups and the viewership for the show saw a big upsurge. WWE will look to continue the momentum this week as well, with a packed show. A few surprises interspersed across the three hours could do the trick.

In this article, I shall suggest five surprises that could potentially happen. Of course, maybe none of them will actually happen on the show. But if they do take place, I have a feeling that the crowd will go absolutely bananas and more viewers will tune in.

#5. Roman Reigns beats up Dean Ambrose for turning on Seth Rollins

I'm taking liberties with this one, in the hope that Reigns can get physical

We all know that Roman Reigns will be on the show this week to give us an update on his current health status. We also remember the fateful night when he had announced to the world that he was battling leukemia. The same night when Dean Ambrose turned on Seth Rollins, going heel and stunning the world.

Roman Reigns may be disgusted by Dean Ambrose's actions, in kayfabe. We know that Dean Ambrose is on his way out of the company and has also been going off script in recent times. WWE may want to devalue his character before he leaves for greener pastures.

What better way to do this than to have Roman Reigns take out the trash, quite literally. If Reigns is allowed to get physical, a Superman Punch and a spear could be punishment for Ambrose's actions.

#4. Roman Reigns announces he'll be in Seth Rollins' corner at WrestleMania 35

Now, this makes the match far more exciting

Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar has seemed like a dud feud ever since it was announced. There has been far more fanfare around the Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair match, because of Becky Lynch's popularity at the moment. Rollins is currently recovering from an injury as well and so he's not around to sell the match.

But then if you add Roman Reigns to Rollins' corner, the dynamics change completely. Reigns has turned into the biggest babyface in history ever since he made the announcement that he was relinquishing the Universal Championship for good. He will get a huge ovation from the audience in attendance at WrestleMania.

The rumor mills will also be abuzz about Reigns costing Rollins the title. Let's hope that does not happen because it'll ruin Rollins' moment.

#3. Kurt Angle announces a retirement match, challenges Cena

Who better to send Angle packing than John Cena?

John Cena was the man who inducted Kurt Angle into the WWE Hall of Fame. The two men are good friends and have waged many a battle during their time together in the trenches.

And now rumors are rife about a retirement match for Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35. While Angle is still in great shape, the signs of age are clear upon him these days and he may want to go out in style against a big-time WWE opponent.

A match that pits John Cena against Kurt Angle with the retirement stipulation hanging over it could certainly be a contest that has many people talking.

The uncertainty over John Cena's future owing to his part-time WWE schedule may also make a lot of his fans believe that he's calling it quits for good.

#2. Becky Lynch knocks down Ric Flair during his 70th birthday celebrations

No, even 'the man' would not knock out a legend, would she?

Ric Flair returns to RAW for his 70th birthday. The festivities will be in full swing and many men and women will be in attendance to pay tribute to the wrestling icon. But 'the man' could certainly crash the party and make life difficult for The Nature Boy.

Ric Flair would be more than happy to work an angle with Becky Lynch if it helps his daughter and keeps him in the game. I could certainly see him take a bump if Lynch were to knock him out, to a resounding pop. It would be one of those moments in the legend of Lynch, marking her rise to the top.

Remember the segment where Lynch and Flair actually kissed? This has the potential to be even more memorable than the segment.

#1. The Shield reunites again for one last time

What a moment this will be for the WWE Universe if it happens

In the last few weeks, we've seen a strange shift in Ambrose's character. He asked Seth Rollins to 'slay the beast' prior to his match against EC3. And the next week on RAW, he acted all goofy, as if nothing had happened between Rollins and him. It was clear that he had become a babyface after a short-lived heel turn.

All of this could be leading to a Shield reunion on RAW. And the team could take on Bobby Lashley, Corbin, and McIntyre in a heated clash. It doesn't have to be a match, considering Reigns' condition, but just a spear could suffice.

There may not be any more Shield reunions after this. After all, Dean Ambrose is on his way out of the company after WrestleMania.

So, this may be the very last time we get to see The Hounds in action!
