5 things Roman Reigns could do this week on RAW

Roman Reigns was at the top of the WWE food chain during his previous run, fresh off conquering the "Beast" Brock Lesnar but a piece of tragic news derailed his championship run. Roman was diagnosed with Leukemia and was forced to relinquish the title.

Roman's absence left a huge void on the show and several changes were made to compensate for his absence. Multiple Superstars switched roles to evenly balance the dynamics between the heels and the faces in the mid and upper mid-card. Additionally, according to the Chairman, Vince McMahon himself accepted the fact that the loss of star power in Reigns was one of the reasons for low ratings.

Reigns returned last week on RAW and announced his remission and went ahead with physical altercations with Lashley, Corbin, and McIntyre later during the show.

Here are the five segments that Reigns could be involved in.

#5 Deny a Universal championship opportunity

Vince McMahon is on a spree to garner more and more attention towards the product by making more controversial decisions. First, even after Becky Lynch apologized to the Authority, the Chairman came out and replaced her with Charlotte and added a 60-day suspension over it. The footage created history and became the most 'disliked' video on WWE's YouTube channel.

Again, on last week's SmackDown, when Kofi was about to sign the contract, Vince interrupted and brought back Kevin Owens to replace Kofi in the WWE championship match.

Vince could do it again, and this time he could sack Seth Rollins using his injuries as the reason and would replace him with Roman Reigns. This could really turn the WWE universe against Reigns if he accepts. While it would cement him as a pure babyface if he rejects the proposal and argues that Seth deserves it more. WWE won't risk turning the fans on Roman again and this would be a nice way to let him stay over as a face.

#4 Face Bobby Lashley or Baron Corbin

From the faceoff that we witnessed last week, it is apparent that there are chances of Reigns facing Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania. So going by WWE's booking patterns, he is expected to face McIntyre's team members.

Whether it is Bobby Lashley or Baron Corbin, expect Reigns to go over as he has just returned to in-ring action and is bound to get a push from the get-go.

There are chances that other Superstars might get involved in the match from both sides which leads us to the next segment which might happen.

#3 A tag match with Seth Rollins against Corbin and Lashley

The last segment of the previous episode saw Reigns and Rollins teaming up to save Dean Ambrose against the trio of McIntyre, Lashley, and Corbin. The obvious follow up to this segment is a tag match between Rollins and Reigns and any two of the aforementioned trio.

McIntyre might drop off from this match to keep him away from Reigns until Fastlane, which would mean Corbin and Lashley taking on two-thirds of the Shield.

Again, interferences, disqualifications, and false finishes are usually the norm for these type of matches. Expect an all-out brawl at the end of the match.

#2 Try to convince Ambrose to rejoin the Shield

I know, Dean Ambrose was the one who betrayed them and it's absolutely illogical for them to want him back. But if we look into the last few episodes, it's the same direction that WWE is headed towards.

Rollins is someone who can actually relate to it better as he himself was on that side of the fence for a long time and he knows that sometimes it's difficult to cope up with the situation and even more difficult to convince others that it won't happen again.

It's not like they would have to beg him to come back. Rather, Reigns could guilt him to admit that he was wrong in cutting the ties and should rejoin The Shield, which in essence, would also help to convince him to rejoin WWE after his contract expires.

It has been rumored that Reigns had been tasked with the job to convince Dean Ambrose to re-sign with the company so it's a great way to bring the story on the screen as well.

#1 Build from scratch

This my personal favorite direction for Reigns to start his new run with the company, although it has the least chance of actually making it to the show.

As a Superstar/wrestler, whether one likes him or not, everyone has to agree that Reigns commands star power and has a Cena-esque aura around him which forces Vince to push him to the moon.

Last week, Reigns got an out-and-out face reaction for the first time since the Shield breakup. Everyone at home or at the arena wanted to see him come back to the ring. WWE just cannot risk to let the WWE Universe turn on Reigns again.

Therefore, instead of pushing him directly into the upper mid-card or in the title scene, it's much better to start from scratch and let the support come organically.

Reigns should start off with mini feuds in the mid-card, continuously building himself up into the Intercontinental title scene (only after Finn Balor would have lost the title). It would be best for Reigns to never go up against Balor as it would again create a situation as that of Daniel Bryan few years ago.

Jinder would be the ideal opponent to face Reigns this week if he would go solo again. Last week's segment with Rollins could just be ideal for his return and he could completely go solo from this week onwards.
