SmackDown produced an eventful episode

5 things WWE indirectly told us on SmackDown Live

The first SmackDown after WrestleMania 35 has been concluded and we had an eventful episode, which was quite expected since it was the first show for the Blue Brand after the Show of Shows.

The New Day kicked off the show to celebrate before being interrupted by The Bar, who set up a match between them plus Drew McIntyre and New Day. Meanwhile, Lacey Evans once again attacked Becky Lynch.

There was also a confrontation between Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe, a match between the team of Ali, Aleister Black, and Richochet and the team of Rusev, Nakamura, and Andrade before Randy Orton RKO’d Ali and Kevin Owen Stunned Rusev.

Meanwhile, The IIconics successfully defended their Tag Team Titles against Karissa and Kristen. However, when it came for the Usos to defend theirs, they failed to do so as the Hardy Boyz beat them to become the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Right after winning the Tag Titles, Lars Sullivan came in and demolished both of the Hardy brothers in a similar fashion to what he did to Kurt Angle last night on Raw.

#5 Big plans for Lars Sullivan

Lars Sullivan has recovered

Lars Sullivan was supposed to appear on Raw back in January of this year. However, he reportedly suffered from an anxiety attack, which led him to miss his initially planned introduction.

But now, he seems to have fully recovered and looks set to be in for a push. After all, he destroyed three WWE veterans on two nights. First, it was Kurt Angle, then it was the Hardy Boyz combined, which is more impressive given that he was alone against two Superstars who had just won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

He might be in for something big in the coming weeks.

#4 Lacey Evans set for a push

While Lars Sullivan might be attacking people randomly to display his abilities as a wrestler to the WWE Universe, Lacey Evans has been more specific in her approach. Last night on Raw, she attacked Raw and SmackDown Women Champion Becky Lynch before doing the same on SmackDown.

The message here is clear: she is going for Becky Lynch’s title. Whether or not she would be given a shot for both the titles or just the one remains to be seen. But since Evans is the only one feuding against Lynch right now, it is safe to assume that it could be for both the titles.

It has to be noted Lacey Evans is yet to be assigned to a brand while Becky Lynch is on SmackDown. So, there is a good chance that Evans is drafted on SmackDown during the Superstar Shakeup set to take place next week.

#3 The Usos moving to Raw?

The Usos

The Usos successfully defended their Tag Titles at WrestleMania 35 only to lose it on the following SmackDown episode to the Hardy Boyz. There were reports of their contracts ending in April but PWI reported that they have signed an extension with Vince McMahon’s company.

Since they are set to stay with the WWE and have only just lost their SmackDown Tag Team Titles, it could be assumed that they might be drafted to Raw next week during the Shakeup as the red brand needs serious development in the Tag Team Division.

#2 Strowman might come to SmackDown

Braun Strowman attacked Samoa Joe after the latter assaulted R-Truth and then bragged that he could beat any Superstar, to which Strowman’s music hit and out came the Monster Among Men.

This indicates that he could feud against Samoa Joe for the US Title and if that is the direction WWE takes, Strowman should be drafted to SmackDown.

#1 Orton to feud with Ali, Kevin Owens against Rusev

Randy Orton is up to something

After the team of Ali, Aleister Black and Ricochet – who put on a great show inside the ring – defeated the trio of Rusev, Nakamura, and Andrade, Randy Orton came out of nowhere to RKO Ali and then leave the ring immediately.

Shortly after that Kevin Owens appeared, Stunned Rusev and left the ring, much akin to what Stone Cold Steve Austin did to William Regal during the glorious Attitude Era of WWE.

So, the question is, where these just pointless bouts or did they have some meaning behind it? I for one think that there might be a feud between Ali and Randy Orton while Kevin Owens works on the Bulgarian Brute in the coming weeks.
