5 things WWE subtly told us on RAW (June 10th, 2019)

The latest episode of Monday Night RAW was pretty much like any other one. It certainly didn't feel like it was a post-PPV episode of RAW, but that's just the way it goes nowadays, it seems.

However, there were quite a few interesting points to note regarding the show. We found out that Stomping Grounds will have a rather underwhelming card. Seth Rollins will once again defend the Universal Championship against Baron Corbin.

If it's Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler and Rollins vs. Corbin, then what on earth will the main event be? Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre certainly can't be it. Either way, putting aside the disappointment that the Stomping Grounds card is turning out to be, there were quite a few things that WWE had subtly told us on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW.

#5. Mercy the Buzzard is based on an old WWE superstar

The Ramblin' Rabbit found himself in a little bit of trouble and almost went out of the way to expose what "really" happens behind-the-scenes at the Firefly Fun House. Bray Wyatt once again teased the darker side of the character and it's getting increasingly interesting.

Wyatt took the Ramblin' Rabbit and squished him, with "blood" coming out of the figure. He then revealed a Ramblin' Rabbit jam or spread of sorts, going further into his new psychotic character.

Interestingly enough, Mercy the Buzzard is actually based on Waylon Mercy, a former WWE superstar in the 90s. Interestingly enough, he dressed very similarly to how Bray Wyatt did years later upon the inception of his persona.

The character was one that appeared calm on the surface but was actually psychotic. Unfortunately, the character never saw its true potential as Dan Spivey retired due to injuries. But the resemblance is obvious.

#4. The Usos vs The Revival will be a championship feud

The Revival did it on RAW. They became 2-time RAW Tag Team Champions. It was quite a welcome title change because Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins really did nothing with the championships.

We don't blame them for that, but in this case, it was one of those situations where fans forgot that there were even tag team titles. However, there was a rather bizarre move post-Super ShowDown where The Revival, despite losing to The Usos, got a title shot.

Better judgment prevailed and The Usos were added to the fray, coming close and doing all the work required to win the titles. However, Scott Dawson pulled a quick one and ended up stealing the pin and the RAW Tag Team titles instead.

With The Top Guys back as champions, it's clear that Stomping Grounds onwards will see The Revival and The Usos feud, this time over the tag titles and not "Ucey cream".

#3. Roman Reigns is eventually going to get the pin back on Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon had a Best In The World celebration - one that's going to continue on SmackDown Live after The Revival's tag team title victory. McMahon was more than happy to gloat about his victory over Roman Reigns, shameless about the fact that Drew McIntyre helped him in doing so.

The way Shane McMahon talked, it was clear that the rivalry with Roman Reigns is far from over. If advertised cards are to go by, then Roman Reigns is expected to face Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre in a handicap match at Extreme Rules.

This means that the rivalry will continue for at least another month if not more. First, Reigns has to go through McIntyre, but rest assured, Shane McMahon bragging about beating Reigns only means that he'll be getting his comeuppance later on. Why else would he brag about Reigns being able to beat The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar but not Shane himself?

#2. The United States title match may be a multi-person bout

When Miz TV with Samoa Joe was announced for RAW, the assumption was that it would be to set up The Miz vs Samoa Joe for the United States Championship. While that still is possible, it may not be as straightforward as that.

Five men emerged for the United States title contention - The Miz, Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, Ricochet and Cesaro.

It led to a six-man tag team match where the babyface team of Miz, Strowman, and Ricochet won, but if anything, this means that we're most likely going to get a multi-person match for the United States title.

A six-corner match can be quite exciting so hopefully, that's the direction they go. Moreover, if they do that they can have another contender emerge and create a title feud for SummerSlam in the process.

#1. Sami Zayn won't be the special guest referee at Stomping Grounds

On the latest RAW, Sami Zayn seemingly put his bitterness and anger towards Shane McMahon aside and praised him instead. He offered to be the special guest referee for Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin at Stomping Grounds, so he had an "audition" of sorts.

The role on RAW? Being the outside referee in the Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens main event. Naturally, he was anything but fair, trying to make life a living hell for the Universal Champion at every given opportunity.

Frustrations eventually boiled and he called a DQ in favour of Kevin Owens. After the match, he suffered a post-match beatdown as Corbin looked on.

One thing we do know - Sami Zayn is almost all but guaranteed to not be the special guest referee at Stomping Grounds. While we know he would be an ideal pick, it's most likely not going to happen.
