5 Top WWE Superstars who still don't have a match at WrestleMania 37

Gone are the days when WWE tried to get every possible Superstar on the WrestleMania card. The battle royals (which had no actual consequence) were usually on the WrestleMania pay-per-view because it helped get several stars on the card. It gave them the experience of walking down the ramp and performing in front of 70,000+ people.

However, in recent years, we've even seen certain top stars miss out on a WrestleMania spot - and it wasn't even due to an injury. It mostly had to do with WWE simply not having a place for them on the card, which is something that can happen again in 2021.

In this list, we will try to exclude Superstars who have a rumored match in place or one where the storyline has already begun. These top WWE Superstars have no match booked for WrestleMania 37 this year:

#5. AJ Styles - Set to miss WrestleMania for the first time since 2016?

AJ Styles has always had an important role at WrestleMania.

AJ Styles has always had a significant spot at WrestleMania. His opponents since 2016 include Chris Jericho, Shane McMahon, Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, and The Undertaker.

He even turned out to be The Undertaker's final opponent. His WrestleMania record is 3-2, and it's hard to imagine that he doesn't have a match booked for The Grandest Stage of Them All this year.

AJ Styles has had regular TV time on RAW, but there hasn't been any active or important storyline that he has been a part of in recent times. The last significant role he had on RAW was when he challenged Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at TLC.

This year, there seems to be nobody for AJ Styles to face. His 'Boneyard Match' against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36 was an instant classic, and it could be argued that he deserves a spot on this year's card for that performance alone.

Unfortunately, the chances of AJ Styles competing at WrestleMania this year in a significant role seems slim.

#4. Daniel Bryan - Has he taken a back seat after WrestleMania 36?

Daniel Bryan seems to have taken a back seat ever since his return to WWE half a year after WrestleMania 36. It's highly likely that his peak is well past him, and he is utilizing the spot he has on SmackDown to help elevate other Superstars.

Daniel Bryan has done a great job of putting over other superstars this WrestleMania season while not obstructing his own momentum. He won the Elimination Chamber match but lost his Universal Title bout against Roman Reigns after being worn down.

Daniel Bryan has remained in the Universal Championship picture even post-Elimination Chamber. But with Roman Reigns already booked to face Edge at WrestleMania 37, the idea of Daniel Bryan being in a major spot at WrestleMania seems unlikely.

We can still see Daniel Bryan somehow finding a spot on the WrestleMania 37 card, but not in a significant role. However, we wouldn't be surprised to see him simply omitted from the WrestleMania pay-per-view this year.

#3. Keith Lee - Could he miss his first WrestleMania?

Keith Lee has had a great start to his main roster career.

Keith Lee missing WrestleMania 37 would be unfortunate. Debuting on the RAW after SummerSlam 2020, Keith Lee confronted Randy Orton and defeated him six days later on pay-per-view.

Since then, he has had a great run. It's hard to believe that it has only been half a year since his main roster debut. Keith Lee has been presented as a future main event talent, and he has done everything to justify his position.

Keith Lee's status for WrestleMania is unknown as of now. He was supposed to compete for the United States Championship at Elimination Chamber, but he was quietly pulled out of the match.

Keith Lee could possibly miss his first WrestleMania, although we hope that isn't the case. It all depends on what WWE has lined up. If Riddle is still the United States Champion heading into WrestleMania, we could see Keith Lee getting the title shot that he missed out on in February.

#2. Kevin Owens - Another slump ahead of WrestleMania?

Kevin Owens seems to have occasional bad luck during WrestleMania season. He has always been a reliable World title challenger in WWE, but it appears that his role has diminished ever so often.

Owens was a consistent Universal Title challenger against Roman Reigns and delivered some good matches. But given that he never won any match, the feud felt like it was stretched far longer than needed.

Once again, Kevin Owens finds himself in a position where he may not even have a match at WrestleMania. It happened two years ago, but thankfully, he had a marquee match against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 36 in the Performance Center.

We hope that Kevin Owens gets a good spot on the card, but given his current position, it seems unlikely. It would be better to see him entirely off the WrestleMania card rather than having him compete in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

With just a month to go for WrestleMania 37, we hope that WWE has something in store for Kevin Owens.

#1. Bayley - A big drop on the card ahead of WrestleMania?

Bayley's potential absence on the WrestleMania 37 card is an unfortunate one. We assume that she will have a spot in the Women's Battle Royal at WrestleMania if WWE decides to go ahead with that.

Bayley spent a year-and-a-half from June 2019 to October 2020 on top of the Women's division. Her reign as SmackDown Women's Champion ended at 380 days at Hell in a Cell 2020 - including a successful title defense at WrestleMania 36.

The Bayley-Sasha Banks feud was never meant to stretch as far as fans had hoped. The Boss will face Royal Rumble 2021 winner Bianca Belair in the marquee Women's match on SmackDown, while Bayley has no match in place.

There aren't even any rumors about Bayley having a match at WrestleMania, though it shouldn't come as a surprise. WWE still doesn't have non-title matches for women on WrestleMania - unless it's in the battle royal.

After the dominant run she had in 2019 and 2020, it's a shame that she doesn't have a match at WrestleMania 37.
