5 WWE/AEW Superstars who have side jobs
Working two jobs simultaneously is a hard task for any person. It is even harder for WWE Superstars whose job requires them to be on the road most of the time. Although AEW has a lighter schedule, it remains a challenge for some AEW Stars to work other jobs while wrestling for Tony Khan's company.
Despite these difficulties, a few WWE/AEW Superstars have other jobs besides being pro wrestlers. AEW Star Chris Jericho, for example, is the lead singer for the heavy metal band Fozzy. In addition to his wrestling career, he remains committed to the band's tours.
Today, a few other WWE/AEW Superstars work in different fields outside the squared circle, including journalism, construction, and fitness.
Here are five WWE/AEW Superstars who have side jobs.
#5. WWE Superstar Natalya
Natalya is one of the most talented in-ring performers in WWE. The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jim Neidhart has been one of the pillars of the women's division for over a decade.
Natalya kicked off her WWE career in 2007 after spending several years wrestling on the independent circuit. In WWE, she shared the ring with many great female superstars, including WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus, Lita, and The Bella Twins.
Natalya has also held three titles in her career so far. She is a former Divas Champion, SmackDown Women's Champion, and Women's Tag Team Champion.
Besides her in-ring triumphs, Natalya also has another job outside the squared circle. The 39-year-old writes a weekly column in the Calgary Sun, Edmonton Sun, Ottawa Sun, and Toronto Sun newspapers.
The former SmackDown Women's Champion kicked off her journalism career in 2017. In her column, Natalya mainly writes about her wrestling career. She also sometimes uses her column to highlight the careers of other WWE Superstars or speak about certain events in WWE.
The former Women's Tag Team Champion has not competed in a WWE ring for nearly two weeks. In her last match, she, alongside Tamina, lost a tag team match against Nox and Shotzi on SmackDown.
#4. WWE Superstar Lacey Evans
WWE Superstar Lacey Evans worked several jobs before becoming a pro wrestler. At the age of 14, she landed her first job washing dishes. Evans then became a nursing assistant after graduating high school.
At the age of 19, she enlisted in the United States Marines. She served for a few years as a military police officer. While still on active duty, Evans finished her Bachelor's degree. She also started her own construction business at the age of 22.
Today, Evans and her husband, Alfonso Estrella-Kadlec, have their construction company in South Carolina. Their company works in renovations, roofing, and building porches.
Besides her construction job, Evans pursued a career in pro wrestling. She joined WWE in 2016 after wrestling for a couple of years on the independent circuit. The Sassy Southern Belle spent nearly three years on NXT before getting promoted to the main roster. She made her main roster debut at the 2019 Royal Rumble.
Lacey Evans has been absent from WWE TV since February. After announcing her pregnancy, WWE canceled Evans' scheduled match against Asuka for the RAW Women's Championship at Elimination Chamber.
#3. WWE Superstar Eva Marie
WWE Superstar Eva Marie is a multi-talented woman. The 36-year-old holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and knows how to run her own business very well.
Eva Marie pursued a career in modeling and acting before joining WWE in 2013. After winning an un-aired Diva Search competition, The Leader of the Eva-Lution became a WWE Superstar.
The 36-year-old went straight to starring on Total Divas after signing her contract with WWE. She was also promoted to the main roster after only four weeks of training. After nearly four years in WWE, Eva Marie left the company in 2017 to focus on other projects.
After her WWE departure, Eva Marie worked as a fitness expert. She built a fitness empire and launched her brand NEM in 2016. Under the NEM brand, Eva Marie has launched a fitness program and a fashion line.
In addition to running her business, Eva Marie has also acted in a few movies and TV Shows in the past few years. She recently appeared in Amazon Prime's series Paradise City.
While continuing to run her business and chasing her acting dreams, Eva Marie recently returned to WWE. She is currently feuding with her former protégé, Doudrop, on Monday Night RAW.
#2. AEW Star Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker works two full-time jobs simultaneously. In addition to being a full-time wrestler in AEW, she is also a practicing dentist.
Baker started her wrestling training around the same time she went to dental school. In 2018, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. After wrestling for a few years in different promotions, Baker joined AEW in 2019.
Working two full-time jobs at the same time is challenging. Baker has to keep up with a busy schedule daily. She admitted it takes mental toughness more than anything else to do so. She also revealed that never panicking and powering forward to get everything done is her success formula.
Despite the difficulties, the current AEW Women's World Champion is happy to be working both her dream jobs. Although many people have advised her to give up one of her two jobs, Baker refuses the idea.
"It’s kind of hard to believe that I get to live out both of my dreams. Both of my dreams are a lot of people’s Plan A; I don’t have a Plan B, I have two Plan As. I’ve been given the greatest gift imaginable,” she told Pittsburgh Magazine.
Britt Baker currently has an ongoing seven-match winning streak in AEW. She recently defended her AEW Women's World Title against Red Velvet at AEW Rampage.
#1. WWE Superstar Mandy Rose
Besides her job as a WWE Superstar, Mandy Rose has launched a few projects in the past few years.
The 31-year-old competed in fitness competitions before joining WWE in 2015. Two years later, she made her main roster debut.
Rose spent nearly four years on the main roster. During that time, she teamed up with Sonya Deville and Paige to form Absolution. After Paige's retirement, Rose and Deville formed another tag team, Fire & Desire.
The two superstars then went into a feud before God's Greatest Creation moved to RAW to form another tag team with Dana Brooke.
Rose and Brooke chased the Women's Tag Team Titles but failed to capture them. Two months ago, WWE broke up Rose and Brooke's tag team and moved The Golden Goddess back to NXT.
For the past few years, Mandy Rose has been dedicated to her job as a WWE Superstar. She has also been dedicated to establishing herself as a businesswoman outside the squared circle.
Away from WWE, Rose is a fitness trainer. She launched her own fitness app called Fit With Mandy. She also launched a beauty brand called Amarose.
The 31-year-old and her best friend Sonya Deville also own Damandyz Donutz. They recently organized their first Damandyz pop-up.
Mandy Rose recently suffered defeat in her first match since her return to NXT. She went head-to-head against Sarray but lost via count-out.
