5 WWE legends who Vince McMahon won't allow to return for the RAW Reunion

We're all set for a huge episode of Monday Night RAW that will see a massive reunion of sorts of superstars and legends from the eras gone by. From legends of the Golden Era to the New Generation Era to the Attitude Era to the Ruthless Aggression Era, they'll be there in full-force to give us a huge throwback to the days of old.

Why is this episode happening? The belief is that USA Network has looked at WWE ratings and suggested it as a way to boost them again. While this RAW Reunion does promise to be a special attraction of sorts, it should be remembered that legends of the past aren't usually a part of exciting stories nowadays.

All we can hope is that the legends come and go without the expense of another current superstar. Hopefully, the 24/7 can be front and centre of the show. Now that is one way to make the RAW Reunion an instant success.

We've seen names advertised such as Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Mark Henry, Ric Flair, Booker T, etc. There are even a few that refused to appear, such as Jim Ross, Bret Hart and Bully Ray. This list, however, is about the legends who Vince McMahon simply won't allow to come.

#5. Marty Jannetty

Jannetty has been in a bad place

Following Marty Jannetty on social media these days is nothing short of sad and tragic. It's as though he's not even a shell of himself. He's disoriented and become an entirely different person.

At one point, Jannetty was pegged as many fans as the one who would be the "breakout star" from The Rockers and not Shawn Michaels. Given his recent social media post about not doing cocaine for "over an hour" while posting a photo of what is presumably cocaine all over his face certainly hasn't given a good look. He shouldn't be allowed to return.

#4. Rob Van Dam

RVD!

Rob Van Dam is by no means in bad terms with WWE. RVD has always been in good terms with the company and has always done what he was told to do while performing as a competitor.

Moreover, he doesn't have any personal issues like Jannetty does to be a risk either. The fact of the matter is that due to his current relationship with Impact Wrestling, it would be very unlikely that WWE would reach out to him for an appearance. It's not like it hasn't been done before. Ric Flair once appeared in the 2012 Hall of Fame while being with TNA while Christian, a WWE superstar at the time, returned for an appearance at Slammiversary 10.

Either way, it's understandable as to why WWE wouldn't approach him, even though WWE fans would love to see RVD back for one night. We hope he does well at Impact Wrestling.

#3. Demolition

One of the most dynamic tag teams in history

WWE's tag team history and tag team division simply don't exist without Demolition. We know they're two superstars, but in this case, we'll group them together because they were a tag team.

Not only were they a tag team, but they were also among WWE's very best at the time. Dominating from the late 80s to the early 90s, Demolition were a vital part of WWE's Golden Era and were responsible for some absolute classics against the tag teams of their generation.

While they were record-breaking tag team champions until 2015, the fact of the matter is that their concussion lawsuit filed against WWE has erased them from WWE's good books. That's why The New Day broke their record in 2015 and that's why they will definitely not be appearing at the RAW Reunion. It's a shame though. We would love to see the legends be on good terms with WWE.

#2. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is on the verge of World Championship glory

Chris Jericho has been blacklisted in a rather weird way for WWE. It wasn't due to outright bad relations with them, but the fact that he signed with a competitor in NJPW around 2017 and then signed with AEW in late 2018/early 2019 meant that he was no longer in WWE's good books.

This was so much so that they even banned superstars from appearing on Talk is Jericho, his famous podcast. The fact that Jon Moxley fka Dean Ambrose went on an anti-WWE rant/tirade on his podcast has only further soured them. On Sirius XM, Jericho said:

“I’ve been kind of removed from the annals of history.
“I asked the other day if I could have a couple of their guys on my podcast to promote Mania.
“I was told, ‘No, it’s not appropriate because you’re in AEW’.”

It's safe to say that he won't be appearing at the RAW Reunion.

#1. CM Punk

Inevitable but not soon

CM Punk has been "rumoured" for a WWE return for almost 5 years now. Even when there was absolutely no talk of his return, the dirt sheets seemingly felt as though WWE wanted him back too.

However, the cold, hard, bitter truth is that CM Punk has been gone for 5 years and has probably been the happiest he's felt in years. Nobody can blame him. If anyone had a job that they disliked severely, leaving it can result in some undiscovered freedom.

Lately, CM Punk has been heavily rumoured to go to All Elite Wrestling, primarily due to his good relationship with the independent scene and The Young Bucks. However, he has publicly mocked these rumours and stated time and again that he won't be present at any AEW show in the near future.

With that said, Vince McMahon will definitely not allow Punk to return at RAW Reunion, even if he really wanted to.
