Randy Orton and Zelina Vega had to deal with home invasions

5 WWE Superstars who attacked other wrestlers at home

WWE rivalries are usually settled via pinfall or submission at a pay-per-view event, but it often takes several storyline developments before there is enough hype and interest for the match to take place.

Would Daniel Bryan’s WrestleMania 30 win have been as memorable without his year-long battle to conquer The Authority? No. Would Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania 36 triumph have been as meaningful if he had not been fired by WWE six years earlier? Almost certainly not.

WWE is all about creating moments that will live long in the memory, and it is no coincidence that those big moments and heated rivalries almost always have a fascinating build-up that makes viewers care even more about the Superstars they are watching on television.

On rare occasions, WWE feuds have even left the arena and caused trouble for Superstars in their home lives – in storyline, of course – when an on-screen rival has shown up at their house to threaten them and/or their family members.

This storyline development, which is usually saved for WWE’s top rivalries, is a guaranteed way to make sure viewers know just how intense a feud has become.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at five times that a WWE Superstar attacked one of their rivals inside their own home.

#5 Bianca Belair attacked WWE rival Zelina Vega in her home

In modern-day WWE, many Superstars connect with their fans around the world by talking to them while playing video games online.

On-screen, the villainous Zelina Vega stood by Andrade and Angel Garza’s side throughout the summer of 2020 as they settled their differences and became No.1 contenders to face The Street Profits at SummerSlam.

The storyline involved a moment on WWE RAW when Street Profits member Montez Ford – the husband of Bianca Belair – struggled to continue in a match after it emerged that he was suffering from food poisoning.

Later that week, the real-life person behind Vega’s heel character – Thea Trinidad – was speaking to WWE colleague Kayla Braxton on her Twitch stream when Belair broke into her home and started attacking her.

As you can see in the video above, Braxton did not seem to know that the incident was going to happen. Unless, of course, she is an incredible actress!

#4 The Undertaker attacked WWE rival Paul Bearer in his home

The 1998 King of the Ring pay-per-view is among the most memorable events in WWE history.

While the show was built around the King of the Ring tournament, which Ken Shamrock won by defeating The Rock in the final, it also featured The Undertaker vs. Mankind (Hell in a Cell) and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Kane (First Blood match for the WWE Championship).

At the time, Paul Bearer managed Kane but he was also involved in a WWE feud with The Undertaker.

Six days before King of the Ring, Bearer took part in a satellite interview with WWE commentator Jim Ross when the lights started flickering in his home.

“Where was I? Undertaker, I don’t care what you do, I’m gonna be there this Sunday for my son’s finest hour…”

The Undertaker then suddenly appeared and repeatedly punched his storyline father in the face before throwing him across the room.

Unable to defend himself, Bearer narrowly avoided being hit with a cabinet that his rival pushed away from the wall and onto the floor.

The entertaining segment ended with WWE's TV signal cutting out after The Undertaker continued to assault Bearer in his own home.

#3 Triple H attacked WWE rival Randy Orton in his home

One month before Triple H retained the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the main event of WrestleMania 25, he was due to compete in a 2-on-1 handicap match against Cody Rhodes and Ted Di Biase Jr. on an episode of WWE RAW.

Earlier in the night, Orton took part in a satellite interview with Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler from his home, which meant Triple H knew exactly where to find him.

“I’d like to say that I’ll take apart Triple H little by little, but I’m not always in control of my actions, though, am I? Like I said before, I am showing restraint. That is the only reason why I am not there tonight.”

Triple H did not turn up for his WWE RAW handicap match, meaning Rhodes and Di Biase Jr. were declared the winners. Moments later, Orton began cutting another promo from his sofa when, all of a sudden, his arch rival broke the front door with a sledgehammer.

The two WWE Superstars went on to brawl all over the house before Triple H launched Orton through a window.

The police quickly arrived and brought an end to the chaotic scenes by arresting Triple H.

#2 Steve Austin broke into the home of WWE rival Brian Pillman

In October 1996, Steve Austin took out his frustrations on former tag team partner Brian Pillman by breaking his ankle during an in-ring interview on an episode of WWE Superstars.

One week later, Pillman was set to answer questions on WWE RAW about the incident from the comfort of his own home when Vince McMahon – a WWE commentator at the time – informed him that Austin was circling the neighbourhood.

Pillman pulled out a gun at the end of the interview segment, but that did not stop Austin from breaking into his fellow WWE Superstar’s home.

After smashing a window to let himself into the property, WWE’s cameras went dark as Austin tried to approach Pillman inside the living room. Seconds later, Austin returned and tried to attack Pillman before being restrained and escorted out of the house by three people.

WWE had to issue an apology for the outrageous angle, which also featured Pillman saying “get out of the f***ing way” on live television.

#1 Edge attacked John Cena Sr. before WWE SummerSlam 2006

Edge defeated John Cena in the main event of SummerSlam 2006 to retain the WWE Championship, but that chapter of their lengthy story is also remembered for The Rated-R Superstar’s attack on Cena’s father six days before the pay-per-view.

This article is supposed to be about WWE Superstars who attacked other wrestlers inside their own home. However, John Cena Sr. has also performed on the independent scene as Johnny Fabulous, so he technically counts as a wrestler too.

The home invasion began with Edge and Lita taking a look around the Cena family home, including his rival’s childhood photos and collection of sports jerseys.

While admiring Cena’s number of WWE accolades and titles, Edge began talking trash to John Cena Sr. in the living room.

The Ultimate Opportunist played back the footage on an episode of WWE RAW and paused the tape during his conversation with Cena’s father. Then, after cutting an intense in-ring promo, he allowed the rest of the clip to play, which featured him slapping John Cena Sr. across the face.
