Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross both need a heel turn desperately

5 WWE Superstars that definitely need to turn heel in the year 2020

The balance of good and evil is a topic that has been explored in all forms of entertainment, be it film or TV shows, be it the theater or the vast world of literature. WWE draws inspiration from all of these mediums and therefore, their programming has had babyfaces and heels for decades now.

The current WWE landscape is comprised of characters who are constantly switching between babyface and heel. but considering the current circumstances, these 5 WWE Superstars need to turn heel in the year 2020. This is because their characters may lose the spark, the edge that makes them special if they continue to remain babyfaces.

#5 WWE SmackDown Superstar Alexa Bliss

Before we begin, can we all wish a belated Happy Birthday to Alexa Bliss, someone who has excelled in nearly every single role that has been offered to her by WWE, someone who has been a great babyface following her run as a spectacular heel?

And yet, one has to admit that she hasn't been nearly as prolific as a babyface as she was, as a heel. Now, if she were to be cast as Sister Abigail, as a member of Bray Wyatt's entourage, the spiritual leader of a new Wyatt Family, it could take her character to new heights, previously unimagined.

Alexa Bliss is the only Superstar in the WWE roster with the acting chops to play Sister Abigail, if it ever comes to that point.

She could also turn on Braun Strowman at SummerSlam and potentially cost him the Universal Championship.

Even if she becomes a regular heel, it would be a step up from her current coffee addict gimmick.

#4 WWE SmackDown Superstar Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross is a WWE Superstar with an innate ability to make any character that she is presented with work in the best manner that she can. And yet, one has to admit that the character she currently plays, the unhinged and bubbly Nikki Cross is only a fraction as cool as the 'twisted sister' gimmick that she made her own, back when she was a part of WWE NXT.

While she has been showing signs of a heel turn already, pushing and shoving Alexa Bliss away, it is all too likely that WWE will pull the plug on this storyline if the plan is for Alexa Bliss to turn heel next. But it makes all the sense in the world for Nikki Cross to turn heel, on this occasion.

She needs that edge, that zing back in her character again, that's been missing since the time that she left WWE NXT.

Maybe if she is turned heel by WWE, she could be a possible contender for Asuka's RAW Women's Championship following the upcoming draft.

#3 WWE RAW Superstar Kevin Owens

When WWE legend Ric Flair tells you that you are acting as a guidance coach and counselor and not the Kevin Owens of old, you know that there is an issue. I am glad to report that because this is the nature of the program that Kevin Owens is in, on WWE RAW, a heel turn is likely to happen with him, sooner rather than later.

Kevin Owens is a WWE Superstar who always thrives with yet another legend in his corner (remember the magical run that he had with AEW superstar Chris Jericho?), and so fans wouldn't be entirely opposed to a stint where Ric Flair and Kevin Owens are allied as a unit down the line. But, as we've seen in the past, Kevin Owens can be a total beast and a monster when he's on his own.

One has to admit that it is a shame that no babyface run for Kevin Owens has worked out well considering the connection that the man has with the WWE Universe.

#2 WWE SmackDown star Drew Gulak

Sure, it is always a treat for any member of the WWE Universe to see Drew Gulak mixing it up with someone as talented as he is in the WWE RAW and SmackDown roster in a 'methodical' mat classic. But one just has to cast his/her mind back to the time when he was doing his Powerpoint presentations and championing the 'No Fly Zone', to remember just how good Drew Gulak used to be. Do you guys remember his short-lived partnership with Enzo Amore, which was full of comedic gold at the time?

It's very likely that no member of the WWE Universe would be opposed to the thought of Drew Gulak and Daniel Bryan uniting as a team and turning heel, to take the fight to The New Day when they return to action.

But Drew Gulak could also take the King's Ransom much like Chad Gable did and form a very interesting trio, that could take the fight to The New Day when Xavier Woods officially returns.

#1 WWE RAW Superstar Humberto Carillo

When you are a babyface in the WWE roster, your character may either be well-defined or you could be just another guy who performs impressive moves. When WWE turns you heel from either situation, it is then and only then that your character becomes a lot more defined.

Humberto Carillo is one of those guys who fits the latter category, where he is someone who has been portrayed as Dominik Mysterio's ally but little more during his WWE RAW run. One has to think that he would fit right into Zelina Vega's stable to bolster the numbers and be someone that she would manage all the way to the top, just as she did with Andrade.

Especially with Retribution coming in, WWE is going to need a few factions that they can potentially mix it up with (babyface or heel, it does not matter). Humberto Carillo certainly has the ability to hang with Zelina Vega's faction, but unfortunately, he does not have the X-factor.
