There are many forgettable children of WWE legends

5 WWE Superstars you may have forgotten were the children of legendary wrestlers

The current generation of wrestlers are surrounded by stars in the business and more promotions than ever before since the sport has grown all over the world in recent years.

The rise of All Elite Wrestling has firmly planted the spotlight on stars who would have slipped under the radar otherwise. The net has been cast much further than usual and this resurgence in the business has allowed many names to make their way to the top.

Whilst many unknown stars are coming through the ranks in the company at present, there are many who's bloodline means that they are destined to be part of the business.

The likes of Charlotte Flair, Roman Reigns, Tamina and The Usos are not the only children of legendary wrestlers who have graced WWE's ring in recent years.

#5. Tessa Blanchard

Tessa Blanchard has been able to make quite a name for herself in recent years as the first-ever female IMPACT World Champion. Before Blanchard was able make history in her own right, she made a handful of appearances for WWE.

The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard competed in NXT back in 2016 and lost to Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss, and Carmella before she moved on to be part of the inaugural Mae Young Classic.

Blanchard was eliminated in the first round when she was defeated by eventual winner Kairi Sane.

WWE opted not to sign the star to a full-time contract after her dismissal from the tournament which led to Blanchard returning to the Independent Circuit and later signing for IMPACT Wrestling.

The former IMPACT World Champion was released from the company on June 25th, just five days before her contract was set to expire, and was stripped of the World Championship in the process.

#4. Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas is still contracted to WWE even though the former Tag Team Champion hasn't been seen on WWE TV since 2019. Dallas' last run with the company came as part of The B Team alongside Curtis Axel, who was released from the company back in April.

The former NXT Champion is the brother of fellow WWE star Bray Wyatt and the son of WWE legend Mike Rotunda, who is better known as I.R.S. Rotunda. He was furloughed along with a number of backstage stars in WWE back in April, but Dallas and Wyatt were still able to retain employment. Mike's daughter Mika also worked backstage in WWE as a production assistant.

Dallas has been struggling in WWE for a number of years, with many fans suggesting that he could join his brother in The FireFly Fun House. WWE seems reluctant to allow the two brothers to work together, and despite Bo proving his worth during his time in NXT, the company has been unable to find a lengthy position for The Inspirational star within the company.

#3. Rachael Evers

Rachael Evers worked for WWE on their NXT brand up until her release from WWE back in April. Evers worked under several names in NXT from 2016, before entering the Mae Young Classic as Rachael Evers in 2017.

Evers was eliminated from the tournament in the second round, before entering the Mae Young Classic the following year once again. And again, Evers was eliminated from the tournament in the opening rounds.

In January 2019 when Evers signed for the company officially, she was able to begin appearing under her real name Rachael Ellering. This is when many members of the WWE Universe realized that she is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering.

The father and daughter duo worked for NXT at the same time whilst Ellering was the manager of former Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain. The star made the decision to walk away from the group when they were promoted to the main roster back in 2018.

Ellering was released from her WWE contract along with many other stars back in April 2020.

#2. Raquel Diaz

Shaul Guerrero was seen as one of the stars of the future when she signed for WWE as the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero. Shaul was part of FCW for a number of years before the company was rebranded in NXT. The oldest daughter of Latino Heat was known as Raquel Diaz throughout her time in WWE, which allowed her to skate under the radar.

Guerrero was part of the company at a time when many big names were coming through the developmental including AJ Lee, Summer Rae, and Paige. The former WWE star asked for a leave of absence from WWE back in 2012 so that she could attend school.

It wasn't until 2013 that Guerrero returned to WWE, but she never appeared during her second run and was officially released the following year after struggling with an eating disorder.

Guerrero's mother Vickie also left the company at the same time as her daughter but has since returned numerous times. Shaul took some time away from the ring and only recently returned to the wrestling business as a ring announcer for Women of Wrestling.

#1. Curtis Axel

Curtis Axel is a former Intercontinental Champion in WWE, but was released from the company on April 30th as part of the budget cuts surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Axel was pushed numerous times by WWE and at one point was even aligned with Paul Heyman to boost him up the ladder in the company, but it didn't appear to be a good fit for the duo.

Axel was seemingly a step ahead of the competition in his early career as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Perfect, but this didn't do the star any favors in his wrestling career. Axel chose his ring name based on his father and grandfather, using "Curt" from his father, and "The Axe" from Larry Hennig, who wrestled throughout the 1960s.

Axel, much like Bo Dallas was a forgotten member of the roster throughout his time on both RAW and SmackDown, but was unable to make any kind of impact alongside Dallas in the Tag Team Division.

Both Mr. Perfect and Curtis Axel were able to reign as Intercontinental Champions throughout their careers, but this was seemingly the highlight of Axel's career in WWE.
