3 WWE Superstars Vince McMahon will push once they return and 2 that will not receive a push

WWE Superstars are no stranger to injuries. They perform for the audience and sometimes get injured, which can cause a lot of trouble for them. Vince McMahon seemingly prefers Superstars who are not prone to injuries and it’s why he often pushes giant men who are unlikely to get injured (such as Brock Lesnar).

In some cases, WWE has also canceled a Superstar's push once they got injured. Take Finn Balor for instance, when he got injured at SummerSlam 2016 - the day he won the Universal Championship by defeating Seth Rollins. He returned a year later but WWE didn’t make good use out of him. He struggled in the mid-card scene until this year, when WWE handed him the Intercontinental Championship. Now Balor is receiving a decent push in WWE, which is unlikely to end anytime soon.

While it was an unfortunate case for Balor, it doesn’t mean other Superstars will suffer the same as well. Here are 3 Superstars Vince McMahon will push once they return and 2 he won't.

#5 Will receive a push: Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks is yet to appear on WWE television

We haven’t seen Sasha Banks since she lost her Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35. And reportedly, she was angry at WWE for taking her title away. Banks wanted to do her thing with the title, which didn’t happen as she and Bayley lost it to The IIconics at ‘Mania 35.

Since then, fans have speculated her return to the WWE ring and considering the latest reports, we could see it happening soon. Not to mention, WWE needs Banks on their programming and they wouldn’t waste time pushing her when she returns to the ring, which would probably happen before (or at) SummerSlam 2019. And because her best friend Bayley is currently WWE’s SmackDown Women’s Champion, it’s also likely that Banks would return as a heel and feud with The Hugger. And who knows, she might even win another title.

#4 Won't receive a push: Luke Harper

Vince McMahon isn't fond of Luke Harper

Luke Harper is frustrated about his status in WWE. He injured himself last year but was cleared in early 2019. WWE waited for sometime before using him for a match but when they did, it didn't go well for Harper as Vince McMahon didn't like how he performed at WrestleMania 35. This caused the former Intercontinental Champion to ask for his release from WWE which wasn't granted to him. Instead, it made Vince even more furious than he was before and as a result, he extended Harper's current contract.

As per a rumor, Luke Harper isn't on Vince McMahon's good list and apparently, the boss 'hates' him, which clearly means that Harper isn't going to appear on television soon. And, when he will show up on Raw or SmackDown, he won't receive a push because Vince won't let it happen.

#3 Will receive a push: Lars Sullivan

The Freak is likely going to receive a great push upon his return

Lars Sullivan was a monster in NXT. When WWE first announced his arrival on the main roster, fans thought Vince McMahon was going to push him to the top. After all, Sullivan has everything that makes him worthy for a push (seeing from Vince’s perspective). He has a robust body, a heavy voice and the potential to become a threat to other WWE Superstars.

Reportedly, he was scheduled to squash John Cena at WrestleMania 35 but due to his health, WWE had to scrap the plans. Otherwise, Sullivan would have already become the biggest heel in the company. He debuted on the main roster on Raw after WrestleMania and destroyed Kurt Angle, who retired this year.

Sullivan is currently sidelined due to a knee injury and it’s expected that he would not return until the next 6 to 9 months. If Vince McMahon still likes him then there’s no doubt Sullivan will receive a great push once he returns.

#2 Won't receive a push: Nia Jax

Nia Jax likely stay in the mid-card after her return

Nia Jax is suffering from ACL tears in her knees and she had to go for surgery. She informed about the same on her Twitter account and said this to the fans:

Some of you may or may not know, but I will be out of action for a little while. Unfortunately, I have been pushing through some pain over the last year due to injuries in my knees and I will be undergoing surgery to repair both of my ACLs. I'm grateful to everyone who has supported me.

It's been a while since Jax disappeared from the WWE ring but we won't have to wait for long to see her again. The former Raw Women's Champion recently gave an update on her injury and said:

Rehab is going well. 7 weeks post double ACL surgery.

Most probably, when Jax returns, Vince McMahon will align her with someone and make her chase the Women's Tag Team Championship because Becky Lynch is the current Raw Women's Champion and the fans don't want to see Jax feuding with her for the title. On the other hand, Bayley is likely going to feud with Sasha Banks if the latter turns heel soon.

#1 Will receive a push: Ronda Rousey

Will The Rowdy One cost Becky Lynch her title
Ad

Ronda Rousey debuted in WWE in 2018 after the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match. And since then, WWE hasn't hesitated to push her. She was the cornerstone of the women's division before Becky Lynch gained popularity. Ronda main-evented this year's WrestleMania along with Lynch and Charlotte and got injured by The Man. It's expected that she will miss 6 months worth of in-ring action, but who knows? She could return sooner.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is certain; WWE wouldn't mind pushing Ronda Rousey to the top once she returns to pro-wrestling again. After all, she is one of the reasons why WWE was successful in doing the women's revolution (in 2018 at least). And because Lynch defeated her at 'Mania, it wouldn't be shocking if she loses her title because of The Rowdy One. It would allow WWE to continue this feud which would, most probably, end with Ronda standing tall.
