5 WWE Superstars who could retire in 2019, and who they should face last

The WWE in 2019 is a young company, focussing on newer talent like Andrade, Braun Strowman, Ricochet and others.

But even though this is seemingly the case, there are still plenty of past legends who fans both young and old can enjoy seeing compete in the ring.

From former World Champions to Royal Rumble winners, there are plenty of older stars who can still elicit a reaction from the crowd.

As the old adage goes, all good things do indeed come to an end, and there will be a time when these WWE Superstars will have to have their final matches, some of which could take place this very year.

Here are five WWE Superstars who could retire in 2019, and who they should face last

#5: Triple H

The Game has done it all inside the WWE

A multiple time World Champion, Triple H is also a former Intercontinental, Tag Team and European Champion, a King of the Ring winner and two-time Royal Rumble winner.

But if his shocking injury at Crown Jewel has taught us anything, is that the Game is getting old.

Despite an impressive showing at WrestleMania 35, it may be time for Triple H to hang up his boots for good, to focus on his role in NXT, and his growing position over the entire WWE.

With NXT in mind, perhaps Finn Balor should be the one to end the Cerebral Assassin's legendary career.

After all, it was Triple H who brought Balor into the company all those years ago, so having the Extraoridinary Man face the Game in his farewell match would come full circle.

#4: Kane

Like the majority of stars on this list, Kane has had an epic career.

Debuting at the Bad Blood 1997 event, Kane would become a World Champion in his rookie year and has been a part of some of the biggest feuds of all time.

Now the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, Glenn Jacobs, the man behind Kane, hasn't ruled out a return to the ring.

But with his career now focussed in politics, WWE need something big to write out one of their biggest stars.

Enter: Drew McIntyre

The Scottish Psychopath would have no qualms in ending the career of Kane, who despite some rather heinous acts in the past, is one of WWE's beloved stars.

If done right, McIntyre could show that it's time for the changing of the guard, as WWE's new monster.

#3: Rey Mysterio

Yesterday, Rey Mysterio celebrated 30 years as a professional wrestler.

A truly astronomic feat, the masked Superstar has gained a legion of fans, though clearly does not move with the same speed he once did.

One Superstar who does move with Mysterio's old speed (and then some!) is one of RAW's newest stars, Ricochet.

An aerial wizard in the ring, Ricochet could be a huge star in WWE, if the company play their cards right.

Rather than having the highflyer force Mysterio into retirement, have Rey announce Ricochet as his final opponent, similar to Kurt Angle's farewell match earlier this year.

Having Mysterio lose to Ricochet would definitely be the right call, as Mysterio's legendary career would come to an end whilst helping to build the next generation of high flying Superstars.

#2: The Big Show

Fans would be excused if they believed that the Big Show was already retired.

After all, the periods of time without the former World Champion seem to get longer and longer, and it's unclear when, or if we will see him again.

Being kicked out of The Bar was the last we saw of him, and as we barrel down 2019, it's obvious the seven-footers best years in the ring are behind him.

If WWE is looking to replace the Giant with a new top beast, there's only one name that comes to mind.

Braun Strowman.

These two have faced off in the past, and it looked like WWE were hoping to have Strowman end his career then.

Perhaps it is time for the Monster Among Men to finish the job in 2019, and bring Show's career to an end.

#1: The Undertaker

What can be said about The Undertaker that hasn't already been said?

A World Champion, Tag Champion, Hardcore Champion, Royal Rumble winner, the Deadman has had a career unlike anyone else.

But for the past decade, the Phenom has appeared less and less, and now fans are fortunate if they get more than one match a year from the undead star.

In my opinion, there are two names that could end his career, John Cena, or Brock Lesnar.

Cena would be a fine choice, as a fellow face of the company, and the feud could be about respect.

Lesnar on the other hand has no respect for anyone, and after crushing the legendary star's streak at WrestleMania 30, would take great pleasure in squeezing the final breath of life out of Undertaker's legendary career.
