5 WWE Superstars who desperately need to win at TLC 2019

This Sunday, WWE fans will witness the final PPV of the year as the company gets into the festive spirit courtesy of some tables, ladders, and chairs. It's TLC 2019 and it's going to be a big one.

Interestingly enough, WWE hasn't exactly been in a rush to confirm matches on the card, leaving it till the last minute to make more announcements. In fact, as of this writing, no singles titles will be on the line at TLC - the first for a PPV in a very long time.

It's certainly an interesting decision and the company had all but three weeks' worth of programming to build to the PPV, which is not exactly an easy job. Even then, the hottest feud in the company at the moment - Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens won't even be on the card!

That likely has to do with WWE wanting to build to a more important stage for the match, but either way, it looks as though it's going to be an interesting PPV. Without dragging it on much further, let's take a look at five Superstars who desperately need to win at WWE TLC 2019.

#5. Aleister Black

Aleister Black hasn't had the best year. He started by partnering up with Ricochet but post-WrestleMania, was largely forgotten on SmackDown Live. He was drafted to RAW in October this year and seems to finally be coming out of the creative shell.

He's set to take on Buddy Murphy in what has been a quickly-built feud, and it could end up being the match that steals the show. We fully expect Black to win and he needs it more than most Superstars on the show, certainly more than the Australian Superstar Buddy Murphy.

#4. The Kabuki Warriors

In our opinion, the Women's Tag Team titles match should main event the show. Last year, Becky Lynch, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair main evented TLC in an outstanding contest for the SmackDown Women's Championship and adding Kairi Sane to the mix only makes it better.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair will challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the Women's Tag Team titles and it's a match that we fully expect to deliver in a big way. The Kabuki Warriors gained some serious momentum following their Tag Team Championship win and subsequent heel turn.

Asuka and Kairi Sane have been on top of their game and since they're a long term tag team, it makes sense to put the titles on them. We know that WWE would rather choose a short-term title reign for Lynch and Flair (and we fully expect that to happen), but as of now, there's no need for them to win the gold.

Becky Lynch will get that accolade down the line anyway and having a transitional reign won't do much good. Moreover, WWE is rumored to be setting up Becky Lynch vs Asuka for the Royal Rumble, so The Kabuki Warriors winning would add legitimacy to the match.

#3. Roman Reigns

It's not often that we get to say Roman Reigns desperately needs to win at a PPV. Yet here we are in 2019 and Reigns is now one of the most popular babyfaces on the roster. Unfortunately, he has been in a rather dreadful rivalry with Baron Corbin, with Dolph Ziggler as a side character.

The main event of the penultimate SmackDown before TLC saw Reigns beat Ziggler, only to suffer a post-match beatdown and then be covered in actual dog food. It was a segment that got a lot of criticism but CM Punk, of all people, was the one who defended it, stating that he didn't hate it as much as people would think.

Regardless of whether you love or hate the segment, Reigns should, and likely will, be getting the victory. It has a TLC stipulation to it which we don't particularly understand (as it best suits the Women's Tag Team title match), but hopefully, it allows the two to have a solid bout.

Reigns need the win as he looks to get prepared for a big 2020.

#2. Bray Wyatt

Not The Fiend

In one of the more surprising moments of TLC 2019, the Universal Championship will not be on the line. Moreover, we'll be seeing Bray Wyatt wrestle and not The Fiend. Why the Universal Title isn't on the line, we're not too sure. However, it's going to be an interesting bout.

Bray Wyatt will be taking on The Miz in a singles match. It was originally supposed to be Daniel Bryan vs The Fiend, but Bryan was written out and we likely won't be seeing him until the end of the year, or early 2020.

It's certainly a good way to extend the Bryan-Wyatt feud and The Miz makes the most sense to replace Bryan since he has been involved in the storyline - albeit as a side character.

Wyatt desperately needs to win and it needs to be a quick and fast-paced match. The Fiend has an aura about him with his epic entrance music and the way he carries himself. We fully expect him to walk out after squashing The Miz.

#1. Rusev

Rusev

Rusev has somehow made the most of a rather controversial love triangle storyline and has come out of it as a bigger babyface than before. Despite the nature of the angle that's made many people uncomfortable, there's no denying that Rusev did the best he could to get over.

He's all set to take on Bobby Lashley in what appears to be the culmination of this rivalry. It's a no-brainer that Rusev would top this list because nobody needs the win more than him. We understand that to extend the rivalry, WWE would have Lashley win, but the entire point of the story is for Rusev to come out of it looking great at the end - which means beating Lashley.

Rumors were floating about from WON that Lashley suffered an arm injury recently, which, if true, means that the feud has to end at TLC. There are no two ways about it and there would need to be a post-match angle to write Lashley off TV until he recovers.

For all that Rusev has been through and the way he's made the most out of it, he needs the win more than any WWE Superstar on the roster at TLC 2019.
