The Lunatic Fringe had an epic career in WWE before leaving earlier this year.

Dean Ambrose may no longer be part of WWE, but the Lunatic Fringe accomplished plenty during his time with the company. A former WWE Champion, Ambrose also captured the company's Triple Crown and Grand Slams, before departing earlier this year.

At a SmackDown taping in 2015 though, Ambrose nearly faced a real-life situation when a fan jumped the barricade.

According to another fan who attended live, the assailant attempted to stab the Shield member but was fortunately subdued by security.

Whilst an argument could be made that security should have stopped the fan before they got over the barricade, at least the situation which could've been much worse was dealt with.

Fortunately, Ambrose was okay and would capture the Intercontinental Championship later that same year, before winning the WWE World Champion in July the following year.
