With the card in order and big matches scheduled for the event, it’s hard not to be excited about the event. The pay-per-view will have at least seven titles on the line as almost all major championships in the company will be up for grabs.

While the championships are a massive pull, it’s the Superstars involved that will be the main focus during the event. One of the best things about the pay-per-view is that many of the recent NXT call-ups will also get a chance to shine during the event and hopefully receive a push at the end.

#1 Ricochet

Will Ricochet find a real friend this Sunday?

While many fans would believe Ricochet has earned every bit of success he has gotten in the WWE till now, some would still say that he’s having a fairytale run.

From becoming the North American Champion to the WWE United States Champion, Ricochet has ensured that every bit of his work gets noticed by the people who can get him to the top.

Now that Ricochet is in a rivalry with one of the biggest names in the wrestling industry, there is no chance that his name will fizzle away anytime soon. The newly turned heel AJ Styles will go all out for the United States Championship with The Club by his side, and this will definitely help Ricochet get a major push if he manages to pull off a stellar performance even if he loses the title.

Ricochet could also end up finding some men who could align with him to even out the odds, as men like Ali, Bray Wyatt, Rusev, and EC3 are currently without any real storylines and could come to Ricochet’s aide.

#2 Nikki Cross

Will this partnership come to an end at Extreme Rules?

After being brought up to the main roster, Nikki Cross faded away soon after getting a big match against Becky Lynch. After staying away for some time, she’s been brought back in a rather interesting storyline which could mean she is in line for a push soon.

After becoming Alexa Bliss’ “Best Friend”, she’s started doing the ‘dirty work’ for The Goddess who has used Cross to rise up the ranks quickly and get in contention for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

While Bliss lost her first chance at the title against Bayley, she’s gotten another chance where she will team up with Cross to challenge Bayley for the title in a handicap match at Extreme Rules.

With the story building up pretty well, and Cross hoping that she will become a co-Champion with Bliss, we could expect a disagreement to break out between the two partners which could provide Bayley with a win and Cross with a storyline where she could compete with Bliss in the near future and earn her own opportunity to challenge for the big title come SummerSlam.

#3-4 Aleister Black & Cesaro

The winner of this match will get a huge boost

Aleister Black broke into the main roster with Ricochet, and while Ricochet remained a constant on television and went on to win his first main roster championship within a few months, Black was kept away from the action.

Even though Aleister Black has been away from the public eye for some time, there is no chance at all that the fans were ever going to forget about him and were anticipating his return for some time.

Black has now found a challenger in the face of WWE’s best pound-for-pound wrestler Cesaro, and the two men will meet at Extreme Rules for the first time.

This will be an extremely interesting match, and the winner of the match could be in line for a push which could see them getting elevated to a much stronger and captivating storyline just before SummerSlam.

While this won’t just be a one-match affair, we could see the victor carry on the momentum and eventually get into a bigger match against someone like Randy Orton or a mid-card champion with SummerSlam insight.

#5 Braun Strowman

Who will be the Last Man Standing in this Clash of the Monsters?

The number of starts and stops this man has gotten is amazing. Every time Strowman is at the receiving end of a huge push, either an injury or his own mistakes cost the opportunity to become a big star.

Fans were behind The Monster Among Men for a large portion of last year, but have slowly toned down on him this year keeping in mind how he has been booked and how he’s fallen through the ranks.

Strowman will face another big guy who has been on and off in the creative’s books and this could be his chance to get the push he needs to become a big star, or completely fizzle away.

Bobby Lashley will try to destroy Strowman in the Last Man Standing match, and even though Lashley also needs to be in the picture for the top stars, he can still take a loss at this point and move on to another competitor as compared to Strowman.

Will Strowman get a chance to beat Lashley and show his dominance to get a major match for SummerSlam? Die Hard Strowman fans will be praying for just that to happen!

#6 Drew McIntyre

This won't be McIntyre's first encounter with The Deadman

It sounds a bit odd at first, but this is arguably the biggest match of Drew McIntyre’s WWE career. The reason for that is that he will be in the ring with The Best in the World Shane McMahon, one of the faces of WWE Roman Reigns, and arguably WWE’s biggest ever superstar The Undertaker.

Keeping all that in mind, it seems like WWE actually has some great plans for The Scottish Psychopath who had been made part of major storylines in the past but was never given the final push to become the top guy.

Coming face to face with WWE’s biggest name will be a major boost for the superstar and his credibility, even though The Undertaker is past his prime.

Regardless of what the outcome of the match at Extreme Rules is, it’s possible that the storyline will shift to one between WWE’s legend and their newest villain which could unfold at SummerSlam.

Will WWE and The Undertaker give McIntyre the opportunity to retire the legend and earn the honours many superstars can only dream of?
