AEW Dynamite Results September 30th, 2020: Winners, Grades and Video Highlights for latest AEW Dynamite

We saw two title matches on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite as well as Cody answering Mr. Brodie Lee's challenge from last week. We also saw former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho in action as well as a return for Dr. Britt Baker.

Darby Allin vs Ricky Starks kicked off AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite kicked off with a grudge match between Darby Allin and Ricky Starks. These two had issued for weeks and finally got a chance to officially square off tonight.

The match started with both men going for early submissions. Allin went to work over the wrist but Starks reached the ropes. Darby hit a big tope suicida out to ringside, wiping out Ricky Starks.

Starks tried to leave the arena and Darby Allin chased him up the ramp. Brian Cage came out at this point but Will Hobbs followed him out and they to the back.

Back in the ring, Starks laid into Allin with his boot. Allin hit back by locking in a Single legged Boston Crab.

Darby hit a running sunset flip bomb and then proceeded to lock in an armbar. Ricky Starks managed to reach the ropes but got hit by a Stundog. Starks hit back with a spear in mid-air, wiping out Allin. on the turnbuckle, it looked like Ricky Starks wanted to hit an Avalanche Roshambo but Darby countered.

Cody accepts Brodie Lee's challenge

Cody was out next in the ring with Dasha. Cody said that in his brush with Hollywood he couldn't stop thinking about how Brodie Lee beat him in 3 seconds. He then spoke about the Dog Collar Match. At first, Cody teased that he wouldn't accept the challenge to such a violent match but ended up taking it anyway, saying he had no regrets.

This led to Mr. Brodie Lee coming down to the ring. Both men had to be separated by security as well as the wrestlers at ringside. A massive brawl ensued until Brodie Lee finally cooled down a little and left the arena.

FTR vs SCU (for the AEW Tag Team Championships)

Dax Harwood and Frankie Kazarian started the AEW match for their respective teams. Kazarian with a side headlock takedown early on, forcing Harwood to momentarily back down. Kazarian connected with a clothesline and tagged in Scorpio Sky.

Leapfrog from Sky before Wheeler when down and claimed that Christopher Daniels tripped him from ringside. This forced the referee's hand and he ejected Daniels.

Scorpio Sky took Harwood down with a crossbody as Wheeler tagged in. SCU cleared house, dumping both Harwood and Wheeler out to ringside. Scorpio Sky followed it up with a tope con hilo over the top rope, wiping out FTR.

Back from the commercial break, FTR were all over Scorpio Sky. Kazarian tagged in and hit a German Suplex. We saw a double pin soon after this. Scorpio Sky and Kazarian both followed up with simultaneous cutters. Sky got a 2-count off Harwood.

Harwood dumped Sky out of the ring and hit Kazarian with a German Suplex and Wheeler followed it up with a Dragon Suplex. It wasn't enough for the win. Kazarian then countered a double team move by FTR and almost managed to pin Harwood on AEW.

Scorpio Sky was back in came close to pinning Cash Wheeler a number of times. Wheeler tried to leave the ring but Sky brought him back in with a vertical suplex. Wheeler tried to crawl out of the ring from the other side. Once again Sky hit a vertical suplex but this time Tully Blanchard held onto Sky's foot so that Wheeler could get the 3-count to get the win on AEW Dynamite.

Chris Jericho vs Isiah Kassidy on AEW Dynamite

Isiah Kassidy was in no mood for fun and games on AEW. He went straight after Chris Jericho and rained down right hands on the veteran. He followed it up with a head scissors followed by an armdrag for a 2-count on AEW Dynamite.

Jericho looked stunned at the speed and ferocity of Isiah Kassidy's offense. We saw Luther get in a couple of shots in on Jericho at ringside. Isiah Kassidy followed it up with a dive over the top rope.

Jericho finally managed to gain control of the match after this. With Isiah Kassidy down and the referee's back turned, Ortiz took a cheapshot at Kassidy from ringside.

Jericho followed it up with a backdrop and then we saw another cheapshot, this time from Jake Hager at ringside. Jericho looked to follow it up with a running bulldog but Kassidy used his momentum to toss him into the ringpost.

Isiah Kassidy with a modified Springboard Stunner. With Jericho down, he hit a Lionsault followed by a Codebreaker, using Jericho's moves against him. We saw a stunned Jericho kick out at the last second as the Inner Circle members looked stunned at ringside.

Kassidy headed to the top rope and launched himself at Jericho. The wily veteran caught Kassidy with the Judas Effect and that was all she wrote for Isiah Kassidy.

We saw Chris Jericho and Jake Hager get into a brawl with Luther and Serpentico at ringside after the match.

Orange Cassidy vs Dark Order's No. 10 on AEW

This match didn't last very long. 10 started off strong but once Orange Cassidy got going there was no stopping him. Orange Cassidy caught 10 with the Orange Punch and followed it up with an Air Raid Crash to pin 10 for a pretty comprehensive win.

MJF and Chris Jericho's backstage back and forth

MJF was backstage on AEW outside Chris Jericho's dressing room. MJF entered the dressing room and we saw the members of the Inner Circle inside. He had gifts for Jericho and the members of the Inner Circle except for Sammy Guevara.

Chris Jericho got to the point and asked MJF if he wanted to join the Iner Circle. Things heated up a little as Jake Hager and Wardlow faced off.

Before leaving, MJF congratulated Jericho for his upcoming 30-year anniversary in wrestling. MJF and Wardlow then made their way out and it was interesting to see the reaction of the different members of the Inner Circle. Could this lead to a feud between Jericho and MJF down the line in AEW?

Dr. Britt Baker vs Red Velvet on AEW

Dr. Britt Baker was back after her loss at All Out in the Tooth and Nail Match. She faced regular AEW Dark competitor Red Velvet.

Britt Baker started the match well but Red Velvet soon caught her with a high kick before taking her down with a Bulldog. Britt Baker locked in a Hammerlock and took Red Velvet down with a clothesline. The Doctor then unloaded on Red Velvet with right hands before following it up with a double underhook suplex.

Britt Baker followed it up with a superkick that rocked Red Velvet. She looked shaky on her legs as Britt Baker hit a swinging neckbreaker.

It was as good as over as Dr. Britt Baker pinned Red Velvet for the win. She did not look rusty at all on her return.

GRADE - B+

Reeva joined the doctor in the ring after the match. As Dr. Britt Baker locked in a post-match Lockjaw on the helpless Red Velvet, Reeva placed a glove on the doctor's hand. Britt Baker made an emphatic statement tonight on AEW.

Jon Moxley vs The Butcher (for the AEW World Championship)

Eddie Kingston announced The Butcher as Jon Moxley's opponent tonight on AEW. Butcher blindsided the champion from behind and took early control of the match. He locked in a modified kneebar early on, trying to ground the champion. He followed it up with a series of right hands before returning to assault Moxley's left leg.

The Butcher continued to dominate the AEW match, hitting Jon Moxley with a running powerslam. Both men traded forearm strikes as Butcher continued to dominate the world champion. Moxley still seemed to favour his left leg as Butcher took him down with a crossbody.

Moxley replied with a superplex from the top rope but Butcher was still in control. Mox was finally getting a foothold in the match and showed how dangerous he can be. The champion hit the Paradigm Shift on The Butcher. Jon Moxley followed it up with the Bulldog Choke and it was enough for him to get the win.

An impressive showing from The Butcher tonight but in the end, it just wasn't enough to beat the champion.
