Best and worst of RAW after Extreme Rules- Title change in a hotel room, Massive upset

I wouldn't say that this was the best episode of RAW that I have seen, but I'll say that it was good. I wouldn't even call it excellent, it was just a solid 'good' show, overall.

The key of a three-hour-broadcast is to make sure that you stay tuned and do not change the channel at any point. In the year 2019, with a large number of options available to those who seek entertainment, this is not an easy task.

And therefore, I must commend Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman for putting on a very solid show, mind you, on two consecutive nights. If you consider the number of years that they've been doing for, you would really need to tip your hat to those two gentlemen.

Here is what I liked and disliked about RAW...

#1 Best: The debut of 'The Fiend' on RAW

This has to be the most highly anticipated return that I can remember in quite some time. Bray Wyatt had a ho-hum run with Matt Hardy before he disappeared for good, following a car accident.

Little was known about Wyatt and what was happening with him until the Firefly Fun House vignettes began airing shortly after WrestleMania 35. We saw a jovial, happy, and cheerful Wyatt but something was not as it seemed...it seemed like there was a darkness that still loomed inside this being.

We would later learn that Bray Wyatt harbored a creature inside him known as 'The Fiend' and it was raring to come out. Fans began questioning whether or not Wyatt will be able to transfer the magic of his vignettes to the wrestling ring, at this point.

The answer is a resounding yes because Bray Wyatt returned to action this week, and it was awesome!

#1 Worst: Natalya as the Number 1 contender

The women's match that aired during RAW was by far the worst thing on the show. And I don't want to be disrespectful to the women involved, but none of them came across as main event players at all.

The pace flowed along at a snail's pace and the crowd began to chant- 'this is awful' during the course of the said match. And when Natalya came out on top at the end of the match, it was clear that she will be the Canadian hero gunning for the prize in her home country of Canada.

With all due respect to Natalya, I don't know if she's the most exciting opponent for Becky Lynch right now. She is great in the ring, but she has never been portrayed as main event talent.

Does anyone even think that Natalya will beat Becky Lynch at the show?

#2 Best: The super hilarious title change

We do not appreciate Drake Maverick and R-Truth enough, do we? There was a title change that happened when Maverick was on the verge of consummating his wedding, clad in nothing more than the 24/7 Championship. His bride was also in the room, and surprisingly, so was a cameraman.

But then, R-Truth would come to the room and there would be a title change soon after. R-Truth is your 24/7 Champion once again and I really do hope that this doesn't mean that we've seen the last of Maverick as a character. I like him a lot more in this role than I did when I saw him allied with the AoP.

We know that Maverick is willing to do anything, but this was funnier than urinating in pants. I suppose Heyman is a filter for Vince McMahon's humor, a voice he listens to.

#2 Worst: The Mike Kanellis storyline

So, like I said the 24X7 Championship title switch was quite funny. What was not funny at all was the sight of Mike Kanellis suffer a loss to Zack Ryder much to the dismay of his disappointed wife.

I really don't know if there is an end in sight for this storyline and indeed, if it even has any kind of a payoff. I would be intrigued in the storyline if the paternity of Maria Kanellis' child was brought into question but I don't know if WWE is going down that route currently. Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett were great in TNA, but this is honestly just very hard to watch for me.

I suppose just keeping Kanellis on 205 Live would be a great way to go about things. It's clear that he is being punished every single time he is on TV.

#3 Best: Push for Cedric Alexander

I'm looking at the comments online and a lot of people are furious about Cedric Alexander picking up a win against Drew McIntyre on RAW. All I want to ask you is this- is this really a bad thing?

Cedric Alexander is not just one of the most underrated performers in WWE right now, he may honestly be one of the best sports entertainers in the whole world. Anyone who's seen him in 205 Live knows about the quality of matches that he can put on when the situation so demands it.

Last week, he got a massive push on RAW when he was featured in the main event match against McIntyre and Shane McMahon. This week, he actually managed to score a pinfall over Drew McIntyre.

I am almost certain that this is the beginning of a big push for Alexander...a very well deserved push.

#3 Worst: Still fighting enhancement talent every week?

We get it by now. The Viking Raiders are an unstoppable unit and they cannot be stopped because they're a very powerful unit of two fearsome warriors.

What I don't get is how long they'll have to face off against enhancement talent before WWE actually puts them into a feud that viewers can sink their teeth into, every week. Honestly, this is the point of the show where my mind just completely shut down and I actually wanted to browse the internet, instead of looking at my TV screen.

Will you read a novel to its conclusion, if you already know who committed a murder? In the same way, why would you be invested in a match where you already know the finish of the same?

Thankfully the segment did not last for very long, allowing WWE to move on with this week's show.

#4 Best/worst: Seth Rollins wins the main event Battle Royal

I am sold on a Rollins vs. Lesnar match at SummerSlam. But because of the many individuals who were involved in the battle royal, I realized that he may not necessarily be the most exciting choice for such a role. Personally, the intrigue of a Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar match at SummerSlam, with all his newfound momentum, would have been great.

The same could be said for someone like Big E, although it was clear that he would never get the opportunity while he was the tag team champion. Everyone expected Seth Rollins to win and he did, to polite applause.

Had it been a singles match between two of the men in this match, I'm guessing it would have been a much, much better deal. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

And again, I end with 'The Goddess'.
