Bret Hart reveals the importance of his time in Puerto Rico

Bret Hart spoke to Lucha Libre Online from Puerto Rico, where he was attending a tribute show in his honor called Fight Forever: Tribute to Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. Hart confessed his love for the territory by revealing that much of his desire to become a wrestler came during his stay in Puerto Rico during the early stages of his wrestling career.

“I learned so much coming to Puerto Rico when I first started. I really learned wrestling, I mostly learned how to fall, how to protect myself and how not to injury my opponent."

“There is a lot more to wrestling than learning how to tie up and how to fall and I learned so much in the three months that I was in Puerto Rico, I learned so much [and] that pushed me when I got to Canada to help me become a bigger star.
I think what I learned in Puerto Rico more than anything was that I leaned to believe in myself.”
