Charlotte Flair reveals the most important match of her WWE career

Former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair has revealed that her NXT Women’s Championship match against Natalya was the most important one of her career.

Following Paige’s move to RAW in 2014, the NXT Women’s Championship was vacated and a tournament was held to determine a new Champion. Charlotte Flair won the tournament after defeating Emma in the first round, Alexa Bliss in the semi-finals and then Natalya in the final to become the second Superstar to hold the NXT Women’s Championship.

The match was heavily praised for its technicality, and Flair, in an interview with Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, attributed that match as her career-defining moment.

“The most important match to my career would be the match with Natalya in NXT because that really put me on the map and people were like, ‘OK, she’s just not Ric’s [Flair] daughter.”

She also spoke about how children who don’t know who her father Ric Flair is, idolize her, which is something that makes her feel like she has made her own legacy.

“It is crazy now when I go to signings and the kids don’t know who my dad is... and I am like, ‘Oh, that… I really have made it’.”

Since her match against Natalya for the NXT Women's Championship, Flair has gone on to win the Women’s Championship 10 times, making her the most successful women’s wrestler of all time in WWE.
