Ever since Dean Ambrose made his exit from WWE, people have been speculating the next move of The Lunatic Fringe.

While many believe it is only a matter of time before the former WWE Champion returns to WWE, others believe he will be signing a new deal with AEW.

However, as we reported, Joe Peisich on the Barnburner Radio stated that Dean Ambrose may, in fact, be signing with Impact Wrestling.

This might come as a surprise to a lot of fans as Impact Wrestling is not as big a name as it once used to be when known as TNA.

Let us take a look at why Dean Ambrose may sign with Impact:

Breaking out as a singles star

When The Shield debuted in 2012, many fans believed that it ould be Dean Ambrose who would emerge as the breakout star. He was, after all, the member holding a singles championship-- in the form of the US Title-- when Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns had to contend with the Tag Team Championships.

However, things did not exactly pan out that way as Ambrose was quite easily overshadowed by the other two members of the Shield and he frittered away into the midcard once The Shield broke up.

While he did hold the WWE Championship in 2016, it was a rather forgettable reigns at best and cemented the fact that Ambrose does not have what it takes to be the top guy in WWE.

While Ambrose may not be the face of WWE, he can easily become the new face of Impact Wrestling. Dean Ambrose, now going by the name Jon Moxley, could help Impact get a boost in star power and lead the company into the next era.

In terms of star power, there will be no superstar on the impact roster who will even come close to Moxley, which would only boost Moxley's value in the world of pro-wrestling.

#4. Ability to work for multiple promotions

We live in a rather dynamic wrestling world today, with Superstars competing for multiple promotions at a time. One of the good things about Impact Wrestling is that it allows it's Superstars to compete for other companies as well.

This could mean that while Ambrose will be featured on the Impact tv show, he could still continue working for smaller promotions and choose his own dates and schedule, unlike the WWE where Superstars had no say in picking the dates they wanted to work.

#3. Creative Control

Impact Wrestling has been putting out entertaining shows on a weekly basis--unfortunately, not many people are tuning in to watch that. However, bringing Moxley on board can drastically change that.

Impact may offer Jon freedom over his character and arcs in a way that WWE were just not willing to give him. By getting the reigns of his character in his own Ambrose will be able to satisfy his creative desires and will be motivated to perform better.

#2. Returning to his hardcore roots

Before WWE rechristened Jon Moxley into Dean Ambrose, Moxley was well known for his brash, violent and hardcore style of wrestling on the independent circuit.

While many people believe that Moxley would have been an instant hit in the Attitude Era, unfortunately this character was not in line with WWE's current PG product.

Impact Wrestling, however, has much more "adult" programming with many matches heavily focused on blood and gore. Moxley would be a perfect fit for such an environment.

#1. Short contract before he decides to re-sign with WWE

The Shield may be back

There have been rumors that Ambrose will actually return to WWE after a period on 6 months to one year. While these reports need to be taken with a pinch of salt, if they do hold any truth, then Impact would be the best place for Ambrose to spend his transitional phase in.

Unlike AEW or WWE, Impact has given Superstars the option to sign short-term contracts and it is possible that Ambrose may be looking for a short-term deal for now.
