Fantasy Booking: How Seth Rollins missed the ultimate opportunity to become WWE’s biggest heel

On the heels of a Money in the Bank pay-per-view that saw titles successfully retained, a new champion crowned and the shocking return of Brock Lesnar during the night's namesake men's ladder match, Raw opened up with a rare appearance from The Beast.

Paul Heyman warned the Universal Champion Seth Rollins and WWE champion Kofi Kingston of the danger that awaits them with Lesnar as the waiting predator. This led to Rollins coming out to face The Beast and talk about how he’s an inspirational champion.

After a few shots were fired from both the sides, Kofi Kingston interrupted and spoke about how he wanted to cement his status as the greatest WWE Champion of all time, and he could only do that by beating The Beast.

This led to Heyman teasing a potential cash-in later in the night because Rollins and Kingston were in action and Lesnar was not going anywhere. Triple H later caught up with the two champions and informed them that they were scheduled to team up later in the night to take on Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley.

After a match which saw all four men trying to do their best to pick up the win, it was a Trouble in Paradise by Kofi Kingston delivered to The Lone Wolf which helped them pick up the win.

As soon as the closing bell rang, Bobby Lashley took to the ring and exploded with a couple of spears to the champions. He brought in a steel chair to attack the two faces of WWE but missed his mark and exited the ring. Immediately, Brock Lesnar's music played. The Beast teased cashing in, but the beaten Kingston and Rollins stood tall in the center of the ring, waiting for the Money in the Bank winner to try an attack.

While it was good to watch both the fighting champions stand side by side, a wrestling fan can’t help but imagine what would have happened if WWE would have decided to turn Seth Rollins heel.

Here are three steps in which WWE could have easily changed Rollins’ image from the biggest babyface to the biggest heel in the company.

Step 1: Attack

This could have changed everything for both the Champions

With a steel chair in hand, Rollins patiently waited with Kofi in the ring as Lesnar threatened to cash in his briefcase against one of the two men.

While the steel chair in hand was meant for Lesnar, Rollins could have instead made a drastic move to protect his own championship by delivering the steel chair to the back of the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

Step 2: Retreat

Rollins could have become a greater heel than the time he turned on The Shield

After attacking the leader of the New Day, Rollins could have delivered a few more shots before laughing at Kofi and Lesnar and exiting the ring.

This would have left Kofi completely vulnerable for a cash-in by Lesnar while leaving Seth Rollins and his championship out of the mix and letting him walk away free without any threat from The Beast.

Step 3: Watch

Kofi would have been a sitting duck for Lesnar after the attack

Brock Lesnar would have ideally cashed in his briefcase against Kofi Kingston and delivered an F5 to pick up the win and become the new WWE Champion. With none of the New Day members present on Raw due to the Wild Card Rule, Kofi’s loss would have not made him look weak while transferring the championship to Lesnar, who would move to SmackDown with the championship.

On the other hand, Rollins would have become the biggest heel in WWE through his actions and bring back memories from his attack on The Shield some years ago.

Rollins’ heel turn would have also given some new faces a chance to fight for the top title on Raw, while possibly building a rivalry between Kofi and himself which could have led to a great match between the two men for the Universal Championship in the near future.
