5 things learned from WWE Superstar Reggie's Sportskeeda interview
Former WWE 24/7 Champion Reggie has experienced a meteoric rise in WWE so far. The former Cirque du Soleil star made his WWE debut in December 2020 as the sommelier for Carmella on Friday Night SmackDown.
He was also the manager of former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on Monday Night RAW, eventually transitioning into a singles performer pursuing the 24/7 Championship.
With his name now shortened from Reginald to Reggie, the Monday Night RAW star is a former 2-time WWE 24/7 Champion.
Sportskeeda Wrestling's Sid Pullar III interviewed the former 24/7 Champion before Survivor Series at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
A variety of topics were discussed, including Reggie's thoughts on his rookie year on the main roster, how he transitioned from Cirque du Soleil to professional wrestling and more.

#5 WWE Superstar Reggie admits he does not drink alcohol
Reggie was introduced to the WWE Universe in December 2020 as the sommelier for Carmella on SmackDown. A sommelier is a wine waiter with a deep knowledge of wines, their service and which meals and foods they are best suited for.
During his Sportskeeda interview, Reggie admitted that he may have portrayed a sommelier but he does not drink alcohol:
“So I’m gonna go ahead and say this right now, I was a sommelier and I actually do not drink. I don’t drink at all and so people ask me all the time, 'Hey, what wine goes with a good white pasta?' I’m like let me google that really quick cause I really don’t even drink,” revealed Reggie.
Another facet of his sommelier character was a french accent and ability to speak the French language. Reggie confirmed that he does speak French, but he does not drink wine:
“But I do speak French and all those things, everything else was real, but I don’t even drink wine,” stated Reggie.
His partnership with Carmella ended on SmackDown in March when the former SmackDown Women's Champion fired him as her sommelier.
#4 Reggie reveals which trainers and friends have supported him in his WWE career
WWE Superstar Reggie has wowed the WWE Universe with his incredible feats of athleticism during his two reigns as the 24/7 Champion.
When asked which names had supported him during his career, Reggie singled out WWE NXT head trainer Matt Bloom as a huge advocate for him:
“I mean for off the back Matt Bloom is just a huge person, supporter, because he’s the one that gave me the opportunity,” said Reggie.
Reggie also shouted out former WWE NXT superstar EJ Nduka as a big supporter of him and helping him with his in-ring career:
“But as far as like in-ring talent like I have my boy EJ Nduka, just been my road dog throughout the whole pandemic of getting better, preaching what we wanted and making it happen,” stated Reggie.
Nduka was released by WWE in May due to budget cuts. Following his release, Nduka signed with Major League Wrestling.
#3 Reggie reveals how he became a professional wrestler in WWE
Reggie has had a unique transition into professional wrestling.
The former 24/7 Champion previously had a career in Cirque du Soleil prior to becoming a WWE Superstar.
When asked how he became a professional wrestler, Reggie revealed that his journey started in 2019 when Cirque du Soleil had an exchange with the WWE Performance Center:
"So in 2019, Cirque du Soleil had an exchange with the Performance Center and I was a part of that show and when they said 'hey WWE wants to do an exchange with us,' I said 'sign me up ten times!' So I went to the ring, first time ever jumping into the squared circle and fell in love." said Reggie.
Reggie has utilized much of the incredible acrobatics and athleticism from Cirque du Soleil during his short time on WWE television so far.
#2 Reggie reveals his inspiration and mentor in WWE
WWE Superstar Ricochet is seen by many in the WWE Universe as one of the most underrated and athletic stars on the main roster.
When asked which WWE Superstars have helped him during his career to date, Reggie revealed that the former NXT North American Champion is a mentor and inspiration to him in WWE:
“Ricochet has been like a brother to me as well. Huge inspiration, huge mentor, most definitely a dream match, we had a minute and a half in-ring competition and it was taken away from us so quickly. But those two guys have there been like big supports huge guys for me,” said Reggie.
Ricochet was recently drafted from Monday Night RAW to Friday Night SmackDown during the 2021 WWE Draft.
#1 Reggie reveals his favorite memory of The Rock in WWE
WWE recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Rock's WWE debut.
The Great One made his debut at Survivor Series in 1996 at Madison Square Garden. The recent Survivor Series event in Brooklyn, New York featured several video packages and vignettes highlighting major moments in the future WWE Hall of Famer's career.
When asked what his favorite memory of The Rock was, Reggie singled out The People's Champion's promos:
"Oh my goodness. There are so, so many. Let me try to pull one. I mean I have always been a fan of The Rock's promos. The promo he cut on Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Triple H, Stephanie in the locker room. I mean, that takes me back to that moment. That moment for sure is a great promo for me." Reggie revealed.
Despite it being the 25th anniversary of his debut, The Rock did not appear at Survivor Series in November, much to the disappointment of some members of the WWE Universe.
