Will Becky Lynch lose her SmackDown Women's Championship

WWE Money in the Bank 2019: 4 reasons why Vince McMahon could hand the SmackDown Women's Title to Charlotte

At the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Becky Lynch will defend her Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans respectively. It’s been currently rumored that WWE is strongly considering handing the Raw Women’s title to Lacey as Vince McMahon sees potential in her. And since Becky will be doing double duty at Money in the Bank, there’s a strong possibility that a title change could happen, but it doesn’t have to be for the Raw one.

Charlotte will also take on her former best friend (also known as The Man) in the XL Center. After Lynch, The Queen is the second most prominent female Superstar in WWE’s eyes, and it’s understandable why she has gotten another title shot. In this article, we will look at four reasons why Charlotte could win the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank by beating Becky Lynch.

#4 The Man can’t do double duty on every show

Fighting two matches on the same night isn't easy

Being a double champion isn’t an easy task. It means that the Superstar will have to defend his/her titles on multiple same nights. While Lynch is scheduled to do double duty at Money in the Bank, it will be hard for her to do the same on every show.

Wrestlers already get tired after fighting in a match, and since Lynch is a double champion, things are only going to get worse for her. Lacey Evans and Charlotte are tough opponents, and a fight against them wouldn’t be a piece of cake.

It could be why Vince might hand the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte and let Becky remain as the Raw Women’s Champion. It’s also likely to happen because Lacey is still new to the roster and a title victory against The Man will be an early call.

#3 WWE doesn’t want to merge the titles

Does this mean Becky will lose one of the titles at Money in the Bank?

When Charlotte defeated Asuka on SmackDown Live for the Women's Title, fans were shocked. They had no idea why Vince McMahon suddenly booked this match between both females. According to some rumors, WWE had planned to merge the women titles at WrestleMania 35.

Other reports said that WWE wanted the Four Horsewomen to leave WrestleMania with the championships, which also didn't happen. The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection lost their Women’s Tag Team Titles to The IIconics, while Charlotte lost her title to Lynch.

It’s been a month since The Man became a double champion and so far, WWE hasn’t merged the championships, which hints that they are no longer planning to unify the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championship. If that’s the case, then Vince will want to hand the SmackDown Women's Title to Charlotte so that she could take it back to the blue brand.

#2 If Becky Lynch is Raw’s cornerstone then Charlotte is SmackDown’s

Queen

This is the REAL truth

Becky Lynch beat Ronda Rousey and Charlotte at WrestleMania by pinning Ronda. While The Baddest Women on the Planet is seemingly on hiatus, The Queen, on the other hand, continues to perform every week.

No doubt losing at The Grandest Stage of Them All hurts a Superstar, especially if it’s in the main event. This time, it’s happening with Charlotte. Since losing at Mania, her momentum has plunged, and it will only rise if she does something significant. And what could be bigger than beating Becky Lynch?

A victory over her will also make Charlotte a 4-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and help rejuvenate her character. The Queen is to SmackDown what The Man is to Raw, and it’s one of the main reasons why Vince McMahon could be planning to take a title away from Lynch.

#1 WWE wants to continue Lynch-Evans program, while also returning the SmackDown Women’s Title to the blue brand

The SmackDown Women's Title belongs to the blue brand

As of now, it seems like Vince has big plans for Lacey Evans. She is already feuding with the biggest Superstar of WWE, Becky Lynch, for the Raw Women’s Championship. Even though she is going to face Lynch at Money in the Bank, it doesn’t mean that she will end up winning it.

It’s likely that WWE will want to extend this rivalry until SummerSlam, where Lynch could lose her title. But until that period, what will the women on SmackDown will do? After all, they need a reason to fight.

Both of the titles will be with Lynch and considering she will feud with Lacey, other superstars won’t get title shots. Many talented females on SmackDown deserves to feud for the title, but because of Lynch being a double champion, it may not happen.

Maybe WWE wants to fix this issue, and it’s why Charlotte is yet again in the title scene. She could beat Lynch at Money in the Bank and then feud with other women for the title on SmackDown.
