Ranking all 6 WWE Superstars who have won more than 10 World titles

WWE has comfortably held the top position in the world of pro wrestling for a long time now. Vince McMahon's promotion has seen a long list of in-ring legends etching their names in history by winning World titles and having classic matches in the squared circle.

There are a select few Superstars though, who have won the big one on more than 10 occasions. Having almost a dozen or more title reigns is a clear indication of the wrestler's star power, and how much WWE relied on that particular Superstar to carry the brand as the top Champion. In this list, we will take a look at all six WWE Superstars who won the WWE or World title more than 10 times.

#6 Edge (11 World title reigns)

Edge didn't break out of the Tag Team division for a long time during his stint in WWE. It all changed in 2005 though, when he won the first-ever Money In The Bank Ladder match. Months later, Edge cashed in his contract on John Cena to win his first WWE title, in one of the biggest shockers in WWE history. This was only the beginning though, as Edge went on to become one of the greatest villains the WWE Universe had ever seen.

Edge retired due to his neck injury, immediately after successfully defending his World title against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 27. By that time, he had won a total of 11 World titles. Edge was honored with a WWE Hall of Fame induction in 2012 for his legendary career.

#5 Hulk Hogan (12 World title reigns)

Hulk Hogan was the biggest wrestler in the industry, back in the 80s. Hogan was featured in several back-to-back WrestleMania main events during that time, and also made it big in Hollywood. Hulk Hogan won numerous World titles during this stint.

Hogan went to WCW in the 90s, and would soon become the biggest heel in business by forming the nWo. Hogan won the WCW title on six occasions. When he returned to WWE in 2002, Vince McMahon noticed how incredibly popular Hogan still was and gave him another short-lived WWE title reign, thus extending his title count to 12. Hogan defeated Triple H to win his 12th World title and lost the belt to The Undertaker mere weeks later.

#4 Randy Orton (13 World titles reigns)

Randy Orton's first two years on the WWE main roster saw him running roughshod over a string of legends, thus giving him the moniker of "Legend Killer". Orton finally got a shot at the big one on the road to SummerSlam 2004, after winning a battle royal. In the main event of the show, Orton defeated Chris Benoit to become the youngest World Champion in WWE history. Orton's first reign was a major flop, as he didn't do much of note and soon lost the belt to Triple H. He recovered soon though and established himself as one of the most ruthless and unforgiving villains in all of WWE.

Over the next several years, Orton feuded with the very best WWE had to offer and had marquee matches at WrestleMania and other major events. Orton won 13 World titles and is still going strong almost two decades after his debut. Orton will be challenging Drew McIntyre for the WWE title at Clash of Champions, and a victory will tie his World title reign count with that of another all-time great, Triple H.

#3 Triple H (14 World title reigns)

Triple H completed 25 years in WWE a short while ago. He has been a mainstay in the company for a long time and is regarded as one of the greatest competitors to ever step foot in the ring. The Game wasn't pushed much upon his debut in 1995. He suffered an embarrassing loss to The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 12, and the Curtain Call incident led to his push getting canceled. Triple H paid his dues and went on to win the 1997 King of the Ring tournament.

Triple H defeated Mankind on an episode of WWE RAW to win his first WWE title, in 1999. Over the next two decades or so, Triple H would win almost a dozen more World titles. He headlined several WrestleMania events and feuded with the likes of The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, and The Undertaker. Triple H won his 14th World title by winning the 2016 Royal Rumble match, where he last eliminated Dean Ambrose to bag the title. Triple H lost the belt to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32 and has mostly worked as a backstage authority figure ever since.

#2 John Cena (16 World title reigns)

A list of WWE's all-time greats is incomplete without John Cena's name being mentioned. He made his WWE debut in the spring of 2002 and soon popularized the gimmick of a rapper. By the time 2005 arrived, it was clear as day that WWE wanted to make him the biggest star in the company. Cena defeated JBL at WrestleMania 21 to win his first WWE title and was drafted to WWE RAW soon after. Over the next 10 years or so, John Cena turned into the face of the company. Incredibly popular among kids, Cena became a cultural icon, and also became a major name in the meme world, courtesy his iconic "You can't see me" quote.

Cena headlined five WrestleMania events and won a total of 16 World titles. He tied WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair's record when he defeated AJ Styles at the 2017 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Cena has since turned into a part-time star and rarely makes a WWE appearance. Looking at how his Hollywood career has turned out, it seems highly unlikely that he will ever be back for a 17th World title reign.

#1 Ric Flair (16 World title reigns)

An eight-time NWA World Champion, six-time WCW Champion, and two-time WWE Champion, Ric Flair is the G.O.A.T. of pro wrestling, and there aren't many who would argue about the same. Flair spent the better part of his career away from WWE and made a name for himself in the NWA in the 80s. He had a brief stint in WWE in the early 90s, after which he returned to WCW. After WCW folded in March 2001, Flair was brought back to WWE following Survivor Series 2001. He went on to work as an active competitor until Shawn Michaels retired him at WrestleMania 24.

In a career spanning almost 50 years, Flair has done it all. He is one of the select few WWE legends who have been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on two occasions. Flair put down Dusty Rhodes to win his first NWA World title in 1981, and never looked back again. His technical in-ring styles helped him bag the accolade of one of the best wrestlers of all time. He popularized the moniker of "The Nature Boy", and his legacy is now being carried by his daughter, Charlotte Flair, who has won 12 Women's titles in WWE.
