WWE HOF

Rating the 4 best candidates to headline the 2020 WWE Hall Of Fame class

The WWE Hall Of Fame is an annual event which happens over WrestleMania weekend that looks to celebrate the best in WWE history and acknowledge the performers that have come before us and their great contributions to the wrestling business.

The headline act of these classes are usually the biggest names to come through the industry, and with so many greats hanging up their boots in recent years (or nearing retirement), the next 10 years will be the most stacked in Hall Of Fame history.

D-X has been announced as the headliners for 2019, and with WrestleMania season well underway, we thought we'd take the time to look forward to WrestleMania 36, and give you 4 predictions and possibilities as to who could headline this prestigious event.

#4 Kane

The Big Red Machine

Unfortunately, The Big Red Machine is likely going to be always overshadowed by his 'brother' The Undertaker, but when you look back on Kane's career, he had a hell of a run himself.

The Devil's Favourite Demon didn't climb the mountain as often as you'd expect for someone of his size and skill in the ring, but he gave us countless classic moments and a lot of great matches over the years.

His run as Corporate Kane wasn't the best thing in the world, but he has proven a versatile performer over the years, with great runs alongside X-Pac, RVD, and Daniel Bryan. He's worthy of being a headliner for the Hall Of Fame.

Now that he has been elected Mayor of Knox County in Tennessee, it's unlikely that we'll see him appear in the WWE full-time or even part-time, and although he can still perform, it's time for him to hang his boots, and heading into the Hall in 2020 would be very appropriate.

#3 The Rock

The Peoples Champ!
Ad

The Rock is arguably the biggest star in wrestling history, as he's gone on to become the biggest name in Hollywood, but he's never forgotten his roots and how he came to that success. During his time with the WWE, he was on top the mountain 7-times, and was the best promo guy to ever step foot inside the squared circle, making him must-see TV.

The Great One has made several comebacks since retirement and he looks as good as ever, but time has seemingly passed him by as an in-ring performer, so 2020 makes complete sense for him to enter the Hall.

His greatest rival, Stone Cold Steve Austin, went in years ago (due to injury preventing him from ever making the returns that Rocky has), and it's about time The Rock does as well because he deserves the Hall Of Fame just as much as anyone in WWE history.

#2 Batista

The Animal!

Batista made his long-awaited return to Monday Night RAW a week ago to set up a big bout with Triple H at WrestleMania, and if rumors are to be believed, it could be the final chapter in the story of The Animal.

Despite leaving for Hollywood during the prime of his main event years, Batista still put together an incredible WWE career, with plenty of accomplishments and moments to make him one of the best of this past generation.

There was reportedly some bad blood between him and the WWE, considering how his run around WrestleMania XXX panned out, but that's obviously been mended, and he's now getting the final run he's always wanted (feuding with The Game on the road to WM 35).

It's not going to be on the level of some of their previous encounters (seriously, go back and watch their Hell in a Cell match shortly after WrestleMania 21), but in terms of story, this one will be great, and a good farewell to the Animal before he heads to the Hall.

#1 The Undertaker

The Deadman!
Ad

It's clear that The Undertaker's career is slowly coming to an end, and the final step is for the WWE to induct The Deadman into the Hall Of Fame.

Over his 25+ year career, 'Taker was a mainstay with the WWE, as he remained loyal to the company and the crowd for the entire time, and he is beloved and regarded as one of the greatest of all-time.

He is obviously going to be the headline act when he does go into the Hall, but with the quality of his performances over the last few bouts, it's clearly time, and 2020 is when The Deadman needs to be honored.

Taker was never the best performer in the ring, but his respect for character and in-ring work is second to none, and he'll no doubt go into the Hall as the most respected and revered WWE performer of all-time.
