Big E and Bobby Lashley are set for a blockbuster clash on RAW

RAW after WWE Extreme Rules 2021 Preview: Possible plan for Big E vs Bobby Lashley revealed, Major title feud to continue?

It's the RAW after Extreme Rules 2021. It'll also be the final episode before the WWE Draft -- perhaps the most significant two-episode period of the WWE calendar year.

A lot of things are going to change on RAW (and SmackDown) the following week, so it's possible that new storylines won't begin immediately. However, what is likely is old feuds wrapping up for good before certain superstars go their own way.

While it will be interesting to see how things play out, the focus of RAW this week will be on one match only - Big E vs Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. Let's begin with that

Two weeks ago, Big E announced that he was coming to RAW with the intent of cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase. The main event that night was the WWE Championship match between Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton. As the winner would be fatigued, his chances were pretty good even though he informed everyone in advance.

Big E inevitably cashed in and became the WWE Champion, but his first week on RAW with the title didn't end well. He teamed up with The New Day to take on The Bloodline in an unsuccessful effort.

A main event bout on RAW was booked between Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, and Big E, with The Tribal Chief walking out victorious as usual. For some reason, WWE decided not to book a rematch between Lashley and Big E for Extreme Rules.

Instead, Lashley teamed up with AJ Styles and Omos to face The New Day. The opening bout of Extreme Rules ended with Big E once again pinning Lashley.

A furious Bobby Lashley later berated Big E and challenged him to a WWE title rematch on RAW. Big E accepted, and the opening bout, which is essentially the main event, is now official.

From the way things have been positioned, this might be Bobby Lashley's farewell to Monday Night RAW, for now. Expect Big E to beat Bobby Lashley decisively before The Almighty gets a fresh start on SmackDown.

Right now, it's a move that makes a lot of sense. Bobby Lashley has been a RAW mainstay since his 2018 return, and a change seems long overdue. As for Big E, he will cement himself as the face of Monday Night RAW.

#4. Will Alexa Bliss seek retribution against RAW Women's Champion Charlotte Flair?

Ad

Alexa Bliss was unsuccessful in her RAW Women's title clash against Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules 2021. While that wasn't a shock in itself, Flair ripping Lily into shreds took a lot of people by surprise.

Bliss hadn't held the RAW Women's title in over three years, and her singles title drought continued at Extreme Rules 2021. Logically, Flair retaining made sense since she just won the RAW Women's title back at SummerSlam.

However, Alexa Bliss' post-match reaction at Extreme Rules suggests that we're going to get a more intense version of her character going forward. This will most likely lead to a RAW Women's title rematch, barring a potential draft to SmackDown for Bliss.

However, if the feud seems to continue, then it's almost certain that Bliss will stay on RAW instead. Perhaps we'll get a more intense version of the RAW Women's title feud, with Flair having to jump through more obstacles ahead of a potential rematch with Bliss.

#3. The WWE Women's Tag Team Champions to continue their momentum on RAW

Ad

Last week on RAW, Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. (known as Super Brutality) defeated Natalya and Tamina to capture the WWE Women's Tag Team titles. It came as no surprise, with the duo allying immediately after SummerSlam.

They seem to work well as a duo, and it's no surprise that they managed to beat Natalya and Tamina in a non-title tag team match, two singles matches, and ultimately, a title match as well. The tag team title change on RAW seemed overdue, but the problem that WWE faces with the women's tag team division will soon be exposed.

Ad

The problem, of course, is the lack of depth in the women's tag team division. It's hard to think of teams that can challenge for the title immediately, and the excursions to NXT seem to have stopped as well.

However, their focus could be on SmackDown, as Shotzi Blackhart and Tegan Nox appeared to be the next challengers for the women's tag team titles. Could this mean a draft from RAW to SmackDown for the Women's Tag Team champions?

#2. Who is next for RK-Bro on RAW?

Ad

For some reason, the RAW Tag Team titles have made Superstars lose more momentum than they have gained in recent times. Let's take a look at the last two RAW Tag Team Champions -- AJ Styles & Omos and RK-Bro.

It's telling that RK-Bro had a lot more momentum without the RAW Tag Team titles than with them. However, the storyline was too good for it not to culminate in a tag team title win at a big pay-per-view like SummerSlam.

However, it could be argued that RK-Bro's relative lack of momentum is due to Randy Orton's involvement in the WWE title picture. Had there not been big changes made, Orton was originally scheduled to face Bobby Lashley for the WWE title at Extreme Rules 2021.

The good news for RK-Bro is that RAW has a plethora of tag teams. Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza also formed a new tag team, with the red brand getting far more teams than SmackDown.

This could mean that a few teams go to SmackDown, but for now, RK-Bro will likely have new challengers on RAW.

#1. Will it be back to open challenges for Damian Priest on RAW?

Ad

Although Damian Priest is only a little over a month into his US title reign, his momentum on RAW has continued. Priest has been one of the biggest highlights on RAW this year, which is why it would be a shame if they decided to swap him for Intercontinental Champion King Nakamura on SmackDown.

Anyone on RAW would want Priest to stay. So far, there hhavebeen nothing but great matches from his US title reign -- including pinfalls over Drew McIntyre, Sheamus and Jeff Hardy -- three bonafide veterans.

It will be interesting to see who's next for Damian Priest on RAW. As of this writing, no announcement has been made. A feud against Drew McIntyre would be a lot more entertaining, as we've only gotten a tease of the two facing off in a triple threat match.

Either way, whether it's on RAW or SmackDown, Priest's momentum and stock will only continue to rise. Perhaps an open challenge is back in the books. Damian Priest has arguably had the best US Title open challenges since John Cena in 2015.
