RAW Preview: AJ Styles in dream match, huge plans for Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch?

So it's the first episode of Monday Night RAW after WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 and what a pay-per-view it was! There were some mixed reactions but we have to say that as a whole, the PPV was solid from start to finish.

Even when the main event itself wasn't great, the spectacle of it all was really something to take in. As you probably know, the night ended with the Universal Champion Seth Rollins and RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch standing tall on RAW.

There was only one title change on the PPV but what a change that was! Ricochet defeated Samoa Joe to become the new United States Champion. As for Drew McIntyre, he was handily defeated by Roman Reigns, who overcame the odds and beat The Scottish Psychopath once again.

Roman Reigns had a really rough night at WWE Stomping Grounds 2019. On more than one occasion, he was on the verge of defeating Drew McIntyre, only to get caught by Shane McMahon, who did everything in his power to prevent Reigns from winning.

It got worse and worse but Reigns relented and fed off the energy of the WWE Universe, who was fully behind him. A frustrated Shane McMahon stated in an interview backstage that tonight on RAW, Roman Reigns will have to take on Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in a 2-on-1 handicap match.

He's beaten McIntyre but he's yet to pin The Prodigal Son Shane McMahon. Will Roman Reigns finally get one over Shane?

#4. What will Alexa Bliss have to say to Nikki Cross?

Is this dissension in the works?
Ad

Alliances in WWE have a history of never really working out at the end, but you already know that. Alexa Bliss, however, didn't seem to get the memo. She was in the middle of a good match with Bayley and the SmackDown Women's Champion hit a suicide dive, unintentionally getting Nikki Cross instead.

In the meanwhile, Bliss was closing in on a victory as she was in position for a Twisted Bliss. However, an outraged Nikki Cross interjected and caused a distraction, making Bliss fail her attempt. Bayley eventually took advantage and finished Bliss, officially getting her redemption from two years ago.

With Alexa Bliss failing to bring the title to RAW, she's certainly going to have some choice words for Nikki Cross. Will there be a big wedge put in between the unlikely friendship of Bliss and Cross?

#3. The 24/7 chase continues

The happiest day of Drake Maverick's life turned into the worst day. After last week, Maverick narrowly walked away winning his first WWE 24/7 Championship. He declared that he was going to get married and as it turned out, he was.

Right after he began walking down the aisle with his wife, R-Truth came out of nowhere and ruined it all, winning the WWE 24/7 Championship for the 7th time or so. After that, Drake Maverick's wife tweeted out in anger, stating that it's all gone too far and that she already wants a divorce!

R-Truth is probably going to be on RAW and expect an angry Maverick to be tailing him. The chase for the 24/7 title may have all been fun and games for now, but since a marriage has been dissolved before it even got to start, things are going to get serious and heated.

#2. What's next for WWE's power couple?

An unexpected turn of events

While fans thought that main event of WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 would be underwhelming, they were shocked when they found out that Baron Corbin had chosen none other than Lacey Evans to be the special guest referee.

We admit, it was quite a brilliant move on his part. Since Evans was clearly bitter about losing to Seth Rollins' girlfreind Becky Lynch earlier in the night, she decided to take out her anger on the Universal Champion and was a biased referee.

When Rollins got sick of her, she slapped him and even hit a low blow. This was the final straw for Becky Lynch, who came out and took out Evans, helping Rollins retain the title.

Now you might be asking, what's next for WWE's power couple? We fully anticipate that there will be a mixed tag team match between Corbin and Evans vs Rollins and Lynch. When it's going to happen, we can't really say.

#1. AJ Styles takes on Ricochet in a non-title match

A huge dream match

Ricochet really felt like a huge star at WWE Stomping Grounds when he defeated Samoa Joe to win the United States Championship. While he was North American Champion in NXT, this marked his first main roster championship.

After winning the match, Ricochet was given a huge ovation backstage, with Seth Rollins, Heavy Machinery, Charlotte Flair, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Carmella and even Triple H all there to congratulate him.

However, what was really interesting was that when he was doing his championship photoshoot, he was interrupted by Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. A reluctant Ricochet took photos with them and then AJ Styles appeared, making it clear that he intends to go after the United States title.

Tonight, The Phenomenal One takes on Ricochet in a non-title dream match. It's safe to say that if Styles wins, he'll earn a title shot at WWE Extreme Rules.
