RAW Preview: Huge Fatal-5-Way match, Lesnar to get a surprising new role?

Last week in WWE programming was quite an interesting one. Seth Rollins' battle against the odds continued as he took on Kevin Owens in the main event. There was one small hiccup - Sami Zayn would be the special guest referee.

The former NXT Champion Zayn seemed desperate to try and get the role of special guest referee for the Universal title match at WWE Stomping Grounds, even going as far as to try and make amends with old, bitter rival Shane McMahon.

The main event of RAW was kind of a "test run" for him and needless to say - he failed. But that wasn't all that happened on RAW. Lars Sullivan decisively defeated The Lucha House Party while new contenders emerged for the United States Championship.

The two female champions of WWE Becky Lynch and Bayley, meanwhile, were defeated in a tag team match courtesy of their title challengers. R-Truth got stuck in a lift and narrowly escaped with the 24/7 title. Here's what you have to look forward to on tonight's episode of RAW!

#6 What's the fate of the crate?

The 24/7 chase is on...or is it? R-Truth was trying to escape from the usual chaos, i.e, the desire to hold the 24/7 title and needed a place to hide. Carmella found the perfect spot for him - a crate box.

However, the timing wasn't right and she had a match right away - one that she ended up losing. As a result, R-Truth was inside the crate and was shipped off to Los Angeles, with only Jinder Mahal seemingly having knowledge of this.

Since the crate arrives at Los Angeles - where RAW will be held, what is going to happen to Truth? Will he find a way out?

#5 Fatal-5-way to determine the #1 contender for the United States title

If there's anything that WWE always does right - it's Fatal-4-ways and Fatal-5-ways. This one is expected to be nothing short of exciting. Last week, The Miz hosted an episode of Miz TV with United States Champion Samoa Joe.

Soon enough, four other men came out - Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, Ricochet and Cesaro (who jumped Ricochet from behind). The chaos led to a six-man tag team match won by Strowman, The Miz & Ricochet, but this week they go from allies to enemies.

There will be a Fatal-5-Way match to determine Samoa Joe's opponent at WWE Stomping Grounds 2019. One thing is for sure - it's going to be absolute chaos from start to finish. We fully expect The Miz to walk out as #1 contender to Samoa Joe's US title.

#4. The Revival are 2-time champions again

"2-time" has a great ring to it for The Revival. They were 2-time NXT Tag Team Champions (the first to do it) and now they're 2-time RAW Tag Team Champions. How did it happen? Well, last week there was a RAW Tag Team title match between then-reigning champions Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins vs The Revival vs The Usos.

In fact, The Usos were only a last-minute addition to the match, which is surprising given that they defeated The Revival at WWE Super ShowDown 2019. Either way, that didn't matter because it was The Revival who ended up stealing the win and the titles.

With Shane McMahon more than pleased at their victory, he may even host a celebration for them. Either way, The Top Guys are back on top of the RAW Tag Team division. You can fully expect The Usos to go behind them and get a title shot at WWE Stomping Grounds 2019.

#3 Daniel Bryan is the Wildcard this week

Daniel Bryan was chosen against his will to be the Wildcard of this week's RAW. Why this rule exists, we have no idea. But either way, it's here to stay whether we like it or not.

With that being said, SmackDown tag team champion (or one half of them) Daniel Bryan will be appearing on Monday Night RAW. He was technically part of RAW when the Wildcard rule was first implemented, getting a WWE title shot on the main event of RAW and losing to Kofi Kingston again.

Bryan will be less than pleased as to why he was called to RAW, but one thing is for sure - he's going to let all of us know how dissatisfied he is and how fickle we are. Will Bryan cross paths with a RAW superstar when he comes to Los Angeles?

#2 Will Becky Lynch take a Woman's right as they have a final standoff?

This episode of RAW is going to be a very important one for title challenger Lacey Evans. Sure, she has some momentum from pinning SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley, but she hasn't had much luck with Becky Lynch.

If anything, it's safe to say that Becky Lynch has Evans' number and it was evident when she made quick work of the Sassy Southern Belle at Money in the Bank, finishing her in less than ten minutes.

Either way, Evans has a chance of revenge and redemption at WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 when she gets another shot at the RAW Women's Championship. Will Evans manage to get the best of Lynch this time around? Or will she once again fall short to the RAW Women's Champion?

Either way, expect her to land that Women's right on The Man.

#1 Baron Corbin chooses the special guest referee at Stomping Grounds

Baron Corbin chooses who he wants as special guest referee for the Universal Championship match at WWE Stomping Grounds 2019. Sami Zayn was the first person to request the role and even went so far as to having a "trial" in the main event of RAW last week.

Naturally, he was as biased as one could have imagined and did everything he could to make the match unfavourable to The Beast Slayer. He even disqualified Seth Rollins, causing the Universal Champion to vent out his frustrations via chair shots to the back.

This week, we finally find out who Corbin will choose as the referee with just six days remaining to the big show. We fully expect that Brock Lesnar will be the one to step up and take this surprising new role. The dynamic would completely change in that case.
