The 5 Biggest Wrestling Botches Of The Week - May 25th, 2019

Wrestling is often filmed in front of a live audience and in cases like WWE, it is then streamed live to the WWE Universe. Impact Wrestling is pre-recorded which means that often the company are able to edit out botches, but this isn't always the case.

This week WWE presented Money in the Bank followed by live episodes of Raw and SmackDown, whilst Impact Wrestling on Twitch showed that there was a number of issues with having Melissa Santos as the host throughout the ad breaks.

Botches are happening much more than they used to on WWE TV now because wrestlers are taking much riskier chances and often these don't go to plan, which is why there were many botches this week to talk about.

Whilst WWE is featured heavily on this list, there were also botches from other companies this week, these were just chosen as the best ones this week.

#5. Melissa Santos

Melissa Santos needs to rethink her outfit for next week

Impact Wrestling has gone through a number of facelifts over the years, but now it appears that Melissa Santos is there to help Impact viewers through the ad breaks as she streams live. The issue with Santos last night was the fact that she was wearing a sleeveless shirt and it was made to look as though she was topless.

Santos made a number of errors when it came to viewers count and the technical issues meant that she was talking and not being heard a lot of the time which is amateurish for a company like Impact.

Many fans took to Social Media to joke about her stream. Maybe an outfit change would be a good idea next time.

#4 Mick Foley unveils the 24/7 Championship

Mick Foley unveiled the 24/7 Championship this week on Raw

Mick Foley was the man chosen to unveil WWE's newest Championship this past week on Monday Night Raw. Foley has since apologized about the way he announced the arrival of the belt because it was so underwhelming.

Throughout the segment, Foley held onto the belt wrong and showed the WWE Universe that it was green before he even took the cover off. This also happened whilst he was backstage before he came to the ring. Foley literally had one job and he managed to reveal the title before he was supposed to but luckily the 24x7 Championship hasn't been affected by its underwhelming debut, even though a number of stars outside of the company have reacted negatively to the newest belt. It's early days, the company could do something exciting with the title in the future.

#3 Charlotte Flair botches her big boot

Charlotte Flair won the SmackDown Women's Championship off a botch

There were a number of interesting botches at Money in the Bank, including many referees reportedly botching planned spots, but one of the most interesting ones saw Charlotte Flair win the SmackDown Women's Championship from Becky Lynch off a botched Big Boot.

Flair delivered the Big Boot but Lynch took the bump before the kick touched her and then stayed down for the pin. This later led to Bayley cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Charlotte when she wasn't considered to be in wrestling shape, which isn't technically legal.

Charlotte has to say that she's fit to wrestle the match in order for the case to be cashed in, but she wasn't able to and she went on to lose her title which is a complete violation of the contract.

#2 Drake Younger's tag match botch

There were a number of botches from the referees at Money in the Bank on Sunday night, but interestingly it was Drake Younger that Vince McMahon aimed his frustrations at the following night after Raw. Younger refereed the Tag Team match between The Usos and The Revival on Raw and reportedly was part of a number of botches that made the WWE Chairman angry.

Whilst there were many botches throughout the match, including one on the top rope where Scott Dawson was prepared for a leg drop but Dash Wilder did the move too soon and Dawson had to switch to an elbow, many of these were not the fault of the referee. The video is available to view below so that you can make your own decision as to whether or not Younger was the one at fault.

#1 Brock Lesnar isn't safe with ladders

Lesnar's Money in the Bank win didn't go to plan

Brock Lesnar was the shock eighth man in the Money in the Bank ladder match this year, The Beast made his way down to the ring as Ali was about to lift the contract and managed to push the former 205 Live star off the ladder before taking the case for himself.

On his way down to the ring, Lesnar managed to take out a cameraman with a ladder that he pushed over so that he could get through. On the live stream of the show, Lesnar was seen hitting two men with the ladder but after he moved into the ring, one of the men remained grounded and looked as though he was legitimately injured by the ladder that The Beast had pushed in his direction.

Lesnar wasn't phased by this and continued as planned without so much as a look back to the two men he had assaulted.
