The stage is set for WWE's last PPV of the year

TLC 2019: 5 last-minute changes WWE can make at the PPV

We are all set for WWE’s last pay-per-view of the decade as we head towards Tables, Ladder, and Chairs, 2019. So far, the match card confirms that three Championships will be defended at the PPV, including the Women’s Tag Team championships.

Both the WWE Championship and the Universal title will not be defended. While Brock Lesnar will mostly be absent from the show tonight, Bray Wyatt will engage in a Singles bout against The Miz.

Despite the fact that only a few matches have been named, the PPV looks compelling on paper. However, WWE still has a chance to add more excitement to the show with the help of a few last-minute changes.

#5 Add the SmackDown Women’s Championship match to the card

Bayley needs good title challenges

Following their newly acquired pattern of business, once again WWE has refrained from sharing a lot of details ahead of the PPV. Hence, it is possible that the promotion will decide to add a Singles match to the card with the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line.

Bayley is currently engaged in a feud with Lacey Evans and the latter could challenge the Champion for the title. Considering the fact that the RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is engaged in a different bout, her title won’t be defended at the PPV. Therefore, the Creative might want the other Single’s Women’s Championship to be challenged at TLC.

It is highly unlikely for Bayley to lose her title if she engaged in a Singles bout but it will certainly bring more attention to the Women’s Championship of the Blue brand. And after her loss at Survivor Series, this would make for a perfect opportunity for Bayley to portray herself in a stronger light.

#4 Have Shorty G and Mustafa Ali accompany Roman Reigns

Even the 'Big Dog' needs friends

After weeks of being tormented by ‘King’ Baron Corbin, an ‘unchained’ Roman Reigns is set to lock horns with his arch-nemesis in a TLC match. The only reason why Corbin has had an upper hand in this feud so far are his allies – Dolph Ziggler, The Revival, and also the men who carry Corbin to the ring.

Since we know Corbin’s reputation in the business, he will not shy away from using any weapon to his disposal in order to turn the match in his favor. He might also seek help from his aforementioned ‘subjects’. Hence, it is possible for us to see the likes of Shorty G and Mustafa Ali coming to the aid of the Big Dog and even things out.

Both these Superstars have maintained a good rapport with the true locker-room leader and have often helped Reigns in similar situations. Since they are not engaged in any other match, this newly formed Tag Team could have Reigns’ back in his match against Corbin.

#3 Make Aleister Black vs Buddy Murphy a ‘chair match’

These two Superstars have the potential to exceed your expectations
Ad

Buddy Murphy knocked at Aleister Black’s door, looking for a fight. A few weeks later, they are set to lock horns in the last WWE pay-per-view of the decade. Currently, they are booked to engage in a Single’s match but WWE can make it more interesting by allowing the use of chairs inside the squared circle.

Both these Superstars have incredible potential and can tear the house down if allowed. Black has already established himself as a dominant force with his commendable run on NXT. Murphy has also impressed the WWE Universe on several occasions and is no longer the ‘best-kept secret’ of the company.

Neither of these two Superstars have been a part of a significant storyline in the recent memory. Hence, there’s a chance for the Creative to initiate an unexpected rivalry between the two by making their upcoming match slightly more intense.

#2 Rusev won’t divorce Lana if he wins

This isn't ending anytime soon

The ongoing storyline between Rusev, Lana, and Bobby Lashley has been subjected to a lot of criticism ever since it started. But the storyline has continued to fetch a lot of numbers for WWE in terms of its social media and TRP success.

Despite the obvious backlash, WWE managed to get a large part of the crowd behind Rusev (even though the fans only did it to rush this storyline to an end). Now, Rusev and Lashley are set to engage in a Table’s match at the PPV and with Lana’s involvement in their feud, it’s easy to expect that a stipulation will be added to their match.

It is expected that Rusev will win the match and ideally, he should divorce Lana and end this feud. But WWE might have him say no to signing the papers which could possibly lead to this storyline being continued beyond the PPV.

#1 Have Daniel Bryan attack Bray Wyatt

Daniel Bryan is not the one who forgets things...

The Universal Champion, Bray Wyatt, is currently involved in one of the best ongoing storylines in WWE. Last week, we saw him torment The Miz in a creepy segment that also involved the A-lister’s daughter (shout-out to Monroe for her incredible acting).

At TLC, both these Superstars are set to engage in a Single’s match which will feature Bray and not The Fiend. But let’s not forget that the latter was also involved in an intense rivalry with Daniel Bryan who went missing after The Fiend pulled him inside the ring and pulled some of his hair.

It is possible that WWE will have Bryan appear at the PPV and attack Bray after his match against The Miz. This will lead to a compelling championship feud between The Fiend and possibly, the old, brutal version of Bryan. Miz will also play an important role in this storyline as he shares a history with both these men.

The WWE Creative has managed to gain a lot of attention from the fans owing to Miz’s feud with Bray Wyatt and would not sacrifice it for the sake of Bryan. But the latter can always make a statement with his response to The Fiend’s actions from earlier this month.
