The Royal Rumble event had seen so many ups and downs by the time the number thirty entrant was set to come to the ring. The countdown hit zero and the buzzer sounded and out came Seth Rollins with his entire entourage in tow. AOP and Buddy Murphy flanked the Monday Night Messiah as he walked to the ring, the reigning winner of the event, and they would make an impact on the match.

The three members not in the match would get involved in eliminations as they helped cause the elimination of Aleister Black, Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens. After the eliminations, the six men outside the ring would begin to brawl to the backstage area. This would leave the former Universal Champion in the middle of the ring surrounded by Randy Orton, Edge, Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre.

Rollins would be eliminated by the soon to be winner but not before an impact could be made on the match.

#4 The New Day and Rey Mysterio take on Brock Lesnar

On the Smackdown debut episode on Fox, Brock Lesnar ended the Cinderella title run of Kofi Kingston. In just seconds Lesnar dropped Kofi with an F-5 and took the WWE Championship and fans erupted in anger. The Royal Rumble match set up for an interesting dynamic with Kofi Kingston entering the match and going face to face with The Beast.

Kofi got in some offense until the champ dropped The New Day member. The next entrant in the Rumble was Mysterio who also has had issues with Lesnar, stemming from Lesnar attacking his son Dominick.

This would all lead to Big E finally entering the Rumble match and the three of them taking on Lesnar. They would hit their finishers and get the upper hand in the match, causing the crowd to go wild.

This didn't last long however as Lesnar would eliminate all three Superstars rather quickly and go on a historic run of dominance in the Royal Rumble match.

#3 Keith Lee faces Brock Lesnar

The current NXT North American Champion had one of the biggest pops during his entrance into the Rumble match. Keith Lee came to the ring and went face to face with the WWE Champion, and as he walked around the ring, Lesnar would mouthed to Heyman a few choice words.

Surprised at the size of Lee, Lesnar went face to face with the NXT star and the crowd erupted at just the sight of this potential WrestleMania caliber match-up.

Lee would hold his own with the Beast Incarnate even putting Lesnar on the mat a few times. This wouldn't last too long however as he would come into contact with Braun Strowman and both men would be eliminated by Brock. Just like every other time Lee has had air time he has delivered in every single way.

The crowd naturally connects with the giant man as they all bask in their glory from their seats and their couches. You have to believe that as Lee continues to progress that he will continue to get these major opportunities.

#2 Drew McIntyre eliminates Brock Lesnar

Drew McIntyre has burst onto the scene the last few weeks as a newly turned babyface. In a moment, McIntyre completely connected with the crowd as he hit Brock Lesnar with a Claymore Kick that sent the champion over the top rope. In that moment, the crowd burst into excitement as they were growing tired of Lesnar eliminating Superstar after Superstar.

After the eliminations, McIntyre would toss Ricochet and then stare down the WWE Champion as he walked to the back. McIntyre would go onto win the Royal Rumble match and you have to believe that the likely match at WrestleMania is against The Beast. McIntyre would toss Roman Reigns over the top rope to win his first ever Royal Rumble match-up.

While the excitement for him winning is there, I don't believe it tops his initial big moment in the match. The moment he landed that Claymore Kick, all fans started to believe that the Scottish Psychopath could do what he eventually would do - win the entire match.

#1 Edge returns

Edge returns and enters the Royal Rumble

Everyone remembers major Royal Rumble returns and debuts. We all remember John Cena and Triple H returning from injury and we will certainly never forget AJ Styles debuting in Orlando, Florida. We can now add Houston, Texas to that list, as Edge made his highly anticipated return to the ring in the Royal Rumble.

Edge entered the match at #21 and the fans in attendance and online lost their minds. We saw a full entrance from the Rated-R Superstar and then he hit the ring and delivered spear after spear. We would also get a fun Rated RKO reunion as the match came to a close.

Edge would go on to eliminate the likes of AJ Styles and Randy Orton from the match and looked to be in incredible shape. It's unknown at this time if this was a one-off event or if the former champion may be here for a run at another WrestleMania match.

One thing is for sure, you will always remember this Royal Rumble just as you did those prior major moments in Rumble history.
