Roman Reigns made his way to SmackDown Live, and it might be the best thing for him in quite a while

Why Roman Reigns should be given a main event push soon on SmackDown Live

Roman Reigns is perhaps one of the most ambiguous characters in recent memory. While he has always been in the main event picture, the WWE Universe has been divided with regards to their reception of the Big Dog.

While a majority of fans have not been appreciative of his push, Roman Reigns is loved whenever he has played an important role in the Shield. While we will not be seeing him as a part of the Shield anymore, owing to Dean Ambrose's departure as well as his being drafted to SmackDown Live, it is possible that he would be much more accepted as a solo performer in the Land of Opportunity.

Background

Roman Reigns was drafted to SmackDown Live in the annual Superstar Shake-up and made his presence felt by attacking Vince McMahon.

This led to an altercation with Shane McMahon, with a match being scheduled for Money in the Bank. What was interesting to see was how the audience was actually behind Roman during his match last episode against the B team.

This might be a no brainer to many, but the fact of the matter is that with the lack of high profile superstars on SmackDown Live, Roman Reigns is being seen as the next big thing on the roster.

Although we still have talented superstars like Kevin Owens, Kofi Kingston, and Finn Balor on the roster, we have to accept the fact that their characters pale in comparison to those on Raw.

However, Vince McMahon does take SmackDown's ratings pretty seriously as well, and the deicision to move Roman Reigns was well executed. Also, with Daniel Bryan being out for quite a while, there needs to be a serious challenger for Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship.

While there is a serious threat in the form of Kevin Owens who can bring out the best in Kingston, there are a few things to consider after the feud.

Possibilities

It is certain that the management still views Roman Reigns as its biggest draw, and it's only a matter of time before he is pushed into the title picture. However, he needs to be pushed right now.

It is a fact that the final memories of the Shield are still quite fresh on the minds of the WWE Universe. Although Roman may have always drawn mixed reactions, there is no doubt that the Shield is one of the most loved factions in the WWE Universe.

The fact that there is no possibility of another Shield reunion might cause the fans to have Roman's back for quite a while. WWE might consider exploiting this moment to push Reigns as much as possible, sooner than later.
