The second night of WrestleMania 37 ended on a high note, courtesy of a brilliant main event. Tonight’s show witnessed three titles, including the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and the RAW Women’s Championship change hands. The much-anticipated triple-threat match for the Universal Championship headlined the show and it surpassed all expectations.

Roman Reigns walked into WrestleMania 37 with an intent to make a big statement, and that’s exactly what he did. The Universal Champion put his title on the line in the main event where he faced Daniel Bryan and Edge in a brutal triple-threat match. His victory tonight will prove monumental for his championship reign following the pay-per-view.

All three superstars poured their souls into the match, resulting in a fantastic WrestleMania main event. Reigns got the first offense, but both Edge and Bryan were quick to counter. Jey Uso then made his presence known at ringside by attacking both the challengers. He continued to help his Tribal Chief until Edge crushed him against the steel staircase. Following that, Uso was taken away from the ringside for medical attention.

Roman Reigns also took a lot of punishment during this match at WrestleMania. During the match, he was held in two simultaneous submission maneuvers by Edge and Bryan. From taking multiple Yes Kicks to being on the receiving end of countless chair shots, Reigns went through a lot to keep himself from losing his piece of gold.

In the closing moments of the match, Edge took out Bryan after hitting him with a Con-Chair-To. However, before The Rated-R Superstar could go for a pinfall, Uso came back inside the ring and attacked him. Reigns capitalized on the opportunity and delivered a picture-perfect Spear. For his assurance, Reigns then delivered a Con-Chair-To and left Edge motionless.

The Universal Champion then put Edge over the top of Bryan, who remained motionless from the earlier assault. Roman Reigns pinned them together and sent out a bold message to the entire WWE Universe at WrestleMania 37. It will be interesting to see who will be the next superstar to feud with Reigns following his extraordinary WrestleMania victory.

#1 Flopped at WrestleMania 37: The Fiend

The Fiend sustained an underwhelming loss tonight

The Fiend faced Randy Orton in the opening match of WrestleMania 37’s second night. As usual, he had Alexa Bliss on his side, but that decision ended up costing him the match. The Fiend looked mesmerizing right from his grand entrance. As soon as the bell rang, he immediately started attacking Orton inside the squared circle.

Both superstars brawled for a while and took turns to control the match. However, Orton struggled to keep The Fiend down for long. The Viper tried to deliver an RKO, but The Fiend countered with Mandible Claw. He forced Orton to go down on one knee and looked close to winning the match before looking at Alexa Bliss, who was sitting on a prop during this WrestleMania match.

Seated at ringside, Bliss' face was covered in the black liquid. Randy Orton looked at a distracted Fiend and hit him with an RKO to seal his victory at WrestleMania. The Fiend had a great start to the match, but the finish to this bout made him look extremely weak inside the ring.

WWE dropped no hints about what just transpired because the lights went off in the arena. It is expected that they will reveal more to this storyline on RAW. However, that doesn’t change the fact that Bray Wyatt lost yet another crucial match at WrestleMania right when he started to gain momentum. We hope that the reason behind this booking would justify it in the end.

#2 Impressed at WrestleMania 37: Kevin Owens

The WrestleMania match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn set high expectations the second it was booked. It would be fair to say that both WWE Superstars faced each other in one of the best matches across both nights of the pay-per-view. This match also brought back the brutal side of Zayn that we don’t often get to see on SmackDown. He wasn’t booked like a cowardly fighter tonight.

Owens and Zayn kickstarted their match at WrestleMania by going straight for powerful offenses. Zayn managed to take control early in the match. He drove Owens to the floor with a devastating brainbuster off the edge of the apron. KO’s selling was better than ever, and he made Zayn look like an untameable animal inside the ring.

At one point, Zayn dragged Owens to the second turnbuckle, but the latter countered with Fisherman’s Suplex. KO then tried to set up a Stunner, but Zayn escaped with a Helluva Kick. However, when Zayn tried to deliver his finisher once again, Owens countered with a Superkick. He quickly followed that with a Stunner and pinned Zayn to win his match at WrestleMania.

Following the match, Logan Paul took Zayn by surprise when he pushed him back. Zayn left the ring while Paul thought that he would celebrate with Kevin Owens. However, KO had other plans. He made Paul’s WrestleMania moment memorable by delivering a Stunner and gifting an epic GIF to the rest of the Internet. Logan Paul also deserves props for his sell.

The to and from between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in this match was thoroughly engaging. More than anything, this WrestleMania bout proved that Zayn deserves a better booking on SmackDown. KO and Zayn are close in real life, which helps their chemistry on screen. They should be allowed to engage in an extended feud, and they will guarantee entertainment.

#2 Flopped at WrestleMania 37: Nia Jax

Nia Jax should have done more during the match

At WrestleMania 37, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler successfully defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in a match against Tamina and Natalya. Although Baszler and Jax walked out of the pay-per-view with a win, the latter was not at her best tonight. She looked slow and distracted during the match and remained unphased at times while taking the blows.

Halfway through the tag team title match at WrestleMania, it started to look like pushing is Jax’s most significant offense. Jax even decided to compare herself to King Kong while taunting Tamina, but the latter was having none of it. She immediately hit Jax with a Samoan Drop and got close to pinning the champion, but Baszler intervened.

Eventually, Baszler retained the championships for their team at WrestleMania. The victory still doesn’t change the fact that Nia Jax could have done a lot more in this match. She is one of the most dominant performers on the WWE roster. However, at times, she should put more effort into her battles to not need the titles to look strong.

#3 Impressed at WrestleMania 37: Sheamus

Sheamus picked a huge win at WrestleMania 37

At WrestleMania 37, Sheamus defeated Riddle to reclaim the United States Championship after seven years. The Celtic Warrior engaged in a brutal in-ring encounter against Riddle, and the latter was left bleeding from his mouth by the end of their title bout. This was a well-balanced match and both superstars came out of it looking strong.

Riddle took a lot of punishment towards the end of the match when Sheamus continuously assaulted him with hard-hitting kicks. Sheamus then went for a Brogue Kick, but Riddle dodged. He then tried to deliver a running knee, but Sheamus moved out of the way.

Riddle kept moving past Sheamus for his momentum and leaped to the second rope to hit Sheamus with a slam. However, The Celtic Warrior kicked Riddle right in the jaw when he was mid-air. Sheamus then pinned Riddle to win the title at WrestleMania.

Following Sheamus’ recent run on WWE RAW, he entered the match with a lot of momentum on his side. He deserved to pick up the victory after a brilliant performance at WrestleMania. Though he even botched one of his offenses near the turnbuckle while Riddle was on his shoulders, The Celtic Warrior did well in overcoming the slight tumble and restore the match’s rhythm. It will be interesting to see what feuds await him on RAW after WrestleMania.

#3 Flopped at WrestleMania 37: Natalya

Natalya struggled during the match at WrestleMania 37

Natalya was great on WrestleMania's first night when she won the Tag Team Turmoil match alongside Tamina. Her booking did justice to her recent run on SmackDown, during which she has ran rampage through the women’s division. Unfortunately, that was not the case during the Women’s tag team title match tonight.

Natalya started the match well when she took the fight to Shayna Baszler. But she began to pose less and less of a threat as the match progressed. On the other hand, Tamina was working hard to keep the match's intensity at a high level. In the end, Natalya was too lost to notice that she was attacking the wrong person.

Natalya tried to take out Nia Jax, but Shayna Baszler was the legal competitor. Baszler then locked Natalya in a Kirifuda Clutch to retain the championships at WrestleMania. Natalya often complains about the lack of opportunities, but sometimes, she does not make the most of her most significant chances to shine. We hope that she will bounce back stronger following the loss at WrestleMania.

Honorable mention: Bayley roasts Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 37

Bayley had her moment at WrestleMania 37
Ad

Unfortunately, Bayley didn’t have a match at WrestleMania this year, but that did not stop her from giving us a major highlight during the show. Bayley constantly badgered WrestleMania hosts Titus O'Neil and Hulk Hogan to let her talk. She even interrupted them when they were addressing the WWE Universe right before the main event.

Bayley was bragging about her when The Bella Twins walked out. The newly inducted Hall of Famers wanted to have a word with the former SmackDown Women’s Champion. Bayley stopped them before they could say anything. She said it was her time to shine before turning to Nikki Bella. Bayley then said:

“I am sorry to inform you, but John Cena isn’t here tonight.”

In case you didn't know, Nikki Bella and John Cena were in a long-term relationship. The Bella Twins then attacked Bayley and took her down the ramp. The reaction seems justified when you imagine an entire arena laughing at the cheap shot directed at you.

Bayley has undoubtedly evolved as a performer, but she has been brilliant ever since she got comfortable on the mic. She is a hilarious heel and deserves to be involved in compelling feuds on SmackDown. Hopefully, she will return for a high-stake battle at next year’s WrestleMania.
