WWE 205 Live Results (June 5th, 2020): Winners, Grades, and Video Highlights

We're two days removed from the results of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, and two of the competitors from the early rounds are in the main event of 205 Live.

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott faced Jack Gallagher again tonight. It's been a strange sort of feud between these two, as Scott hasn't really been the main focus. It's all been about Tony Nese and Jack Gallagher trying to one-up one another, using Swerve as the measuring stick.

We kicked off 205 Live with Tehuti Miles, who picked up a shocking win over Danny Burch last week. However, his tag team partner was up this week, and wouldn' be falling for the same tricks that fell the Guvnor on 205 Live the week prior.

Oney Lorcan w/Danny Burch vs Tehuti Miles opens 205 Live

Oney Lorcan took it to Tehuti Miles early with a chop and a kitchen sink knee to the gut. Lorcan continued to light up Miles, forcing him out to the floor. Burch demanded Miles get back in.

Miles disrespected Burch but turned around into a nasty knife edge chop. Back inside, Miles countered a running uppercut with a flapjack. Lorcan immediately grabbed ahold of his upper left arm, and it seemed that he may have injured his bicep in some way.

Miles kept up the pressure, driving a series of elbows into the chest of Lorcan. After several minutes of punishment, Miles began focusing on Lorcan's shoulder. A Fujiwara armbar locked in right in the middle of the ring left Lorcan with few options.

Lorcan, however, refused to submit and made it to his feet. The Star Destroyer finally fired up, and dug into Miles with chops and a furious running uppercut. Miles found himself in the corner where Lorcan hit him with a running elbow to the jaw.

Miles countered the Half-and-Half with a roll-up, but the ref broke the pin when Burch pointed out the tights had been pulled.

Thanks to that, and Miles taking his frustrations out on Burch, Lorcan was able to do the same. Turnabout is fair play, after all.

Results: Oney Lorcan defeated Tehuti Miles via pinfall on 205 Live.

Grade: B-

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott has been an odd third-wheel in the 205 Live feud between Tony Nese and Jack Gallagher. Maybe that's the wrong word for it... it's kind of hard to explain. Swerve was the catalyst for everything that's gone wrong between the two and has been attacked by both men while facing the other in singles action. Still, it's all been about the Premier Athlete and the former Gentleman.

Tonight was no different. Swerve's confidence is back, and 205 Live is his house.

205 Live Main Event: Isaiah "Swerve" Scott vs Jack Gallagher

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott looked to best Jack Gallagher at his own game, bringing him down with a modified arm triangle. Gallagher escaped and set up the rear mount, laying into Swerve with shots to the head.

Scott dropped Gallagher with a headscissor takedown before connecting with the diving back elbow to Gallagher's neck. Scott moved up for another dive, but Gallagher rolled to the apron. Gallagher caught Scott chasing him in the ropes, battering him with more stiff shots.

The two rivals traded roundhouse kicks before Gallagher decided to block for a series of uppercuts. Scott tripped up Gallagher and landed the House Call. However, Gallagher rolled to the floor to avoid the loss.

Scott moved to the apron and hit a running boot off the apron. Back inside the slingshot rolling flatliner connected. Gallagher kicked out. As Swerve brought him up, Gallagher trapped him in the guillotine, with some body scissors for good measure.

Swerve countered with a brainbuster, spiking Gallagher and breaking the hold. As Scott ran into the corner, Gallagher nearly knocked him out with the back elbow. Scott recovered just as Gallagher moved to the top. A sky-high back suplex was countered into a crossbody, with Gallagher shifting his weight in mid-air. Scott managed to barely kick out.

Another stiff shot to the jaw left Swerve looking up at the lights, but he refused to give up. Gallagher brought him up for some knee strikes before rolling Swerve over for the cross armbreaker.

However, Scott was able to roll him up at the last second, picking up a narrow victory.

Results: Isaiah "Swerve" Scott defeated Jack Gallagher via pinfall on 205 Live.

Grade: B+

After the match, Tony Nese ran in and sent Scott shoulder first into the steels steps. Gallagher stared off, confused, considering his relationship with the Premier Athlete.

We were treated to a replay of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Finals from NXT this week. Former 205 Live GM Drake Maverick nearly accomplished his dream, but would ultimately fall to El Hijo del Fantasma.

Still, after the match, Maverick was offered an NXT contract.
