WWE Hell In A Cell 2020 Predictions

The 12th edition WWE Hell in a Cell emanate from the ThunderDome on Sunday, Oct. 25. This annual staple of the company's calendar year has been a fixture since 2009.

WWE didn't reveal the majority of the card until this week. However, it's still worth tossing out some predictions for the matches that have major consequences on WWE programming.

Ad

WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, will once again defend his title against cousin, Jey Uso, while Randy Orton continues to chase Drew Mcintyre's WWE Championship. Sasha Banks will also challenge her former best bud, Bayley, for the Smackdown Women's Championship. All of these title bouts will take place under WWE's demonic structure.

The pay-per-view will begin at 7 pm ET at Orlando's Amway Center following the usual kick-off show at 6 pm. The show will air in India on Monday, Oct. 26 at 4.30 am with the accompanying kick-off show at 3.30 am. Here are our final picks for the upcoming event.

Jeff Hardy vs. Elias

Jeff Hardy will take on Elias this Sunday
Ad

The Charismatic Enigma will battle Elias at WWE Hell in a Cell, as the two newly drafted RAW Superstars will likely open the show. WWE has revived the storyline around who hit Elias with a car, which seemed to be resolved after Hardy feuded with Sheamus.

Nevertheless, The Drifter still believes Hardy was behind the hit and run attack from May, even though he has confirmed that he wasn't the one driving the car. Elias boldly declared his return from injury when he blindsided the former Intercontinental Champions and smashed a guitar across his back. A disguised Jeff Hardy interrupted Elias' concert the following week and took a swing at the red brand's native musician with an electric guitar, leading Elias to issue the challenge for this weekend.

Will Hardy be able to silence the former Heavy metal, Jesus? We don't think so. Elias has recently returned from his hiatus and he is also hot on the music scene with the release of his new album, Universal Truth, on Monday, a day after the pay-per-view. Thus, he will probably pick up the win.

Our Pick: Elias for the win.

Otis vs. The Miz for the WWE Money in the Bank contract

Who will leave WWE Hell in a Cell as Mr. Money in the Bank

There can only be one Mr. Money in the Bank after Sunday. The coveted contract will be on the line when Heavy Machinery's Otis takes on Miz at WWE Hell In a Cell.

Ad

The Miz and John Morrison have tried numerous devious schemes but have failed to pry the briefcase from Otis. The dispute made it to court as WWE Legends JBL, Ron Simmons, and Teddy Long all appeared in the Law & Otis segments.

The Miz levied several charges against Otis ranging from creating a hostile work environment to causing emotional and physical stress. JBL ruled in favor of the Miz and granted the A-Lister a shot at the coveted contract thanks to a valuable last piece of evidence he presented him with, a bribe.

WWE is high on Otis, so there's no way he loses his briefcase in the blow-off match of this feud.

Our Pick: Otis retains his briefcase.

Bayley (C) vs. Sasha Banks - Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship

Ad
The battle of the former best friends will take place inside the demonic structure.

There will be nowhere to hide for Bayley when her former best friend, Sasha Banks, comes for her title this Sunday.

Two Beltz Banks and Bayley Dos Straps ruled the roost as The Golden Role Models before The Boss lost RAW women's title during SummerSlam weekend. After they failed to regain the women’s tag titles, Bayley brutally turned on Banks with a ruthless steel chair attack. After another assault from Bayley, an enraged and injured Banks tried to return the favor at WWE Clash of Champions.

Bayley has remained one step ahead of the competition during her historic reign. After their face-off on the Oct. 9 of WWE SmackDown, Bayley held on to her title due to shenanigans. The Role Model resorted to using a chair to intentionally get herself disqualification and retain her championship.

The Boss has healed up quickly and will have a distinct edge over the champion heading into the pay-per-view. After all, Bayley has never competed inside the 20-foot-high structure before, whereas Banks participated in the first-ever women's Hell in a Cell match.

Ad

Banks has to win as she's the only viable challenger who can end Bayley's historic title reign.

Our Pick: Sasha Banks to end her abysmal pay-per-view record in title matches by winning the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship.

Drew McIntyre (C) vs. Randy Orton - Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship

Orton's third attempt to dethrone WWE Champion Drew McIntyre
Ad

The two titans will clash once again for the WWE Championship. This time, they will attempt to settle things once and for all in a Hell in a Cell Match. McIntyre outlasted Orton in their showdown at SummerSlam, using a crafty backslide to retain. The Legend Killer continued his onslaught on the Scot, targeting his skull with devastating Punt Kicks that put the champion’s immediate in-ring future in jeopardy.

We predicted The Apex Predator would win at Gold Rush but the ghosts of Orton's past—Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, and Christian—got involved and costed him. Still, defeat didn't humble the brash Superstar, as Orton launched one more attack on the legendary tetrad. So, McIntyre offered the third-generation star another shot at his belt, accepting Orton's Hell in a Cell challenge at the titular pay-per-view on the Oct. 5 episode of RAW.

This will be The Viper's third chance to dethrone The Scottish Psychopath. A WWE title win for the company's MVP during the Performance Center (and ThunderDome) era is long overdue. We fully expect to see it happen this weekend.

Our Pick: Randy Orton to win his 14th World Championship

Roman Reigns (C) vs. Jey Uso - Hell in a Cell "I Quit" Match for the WWE Universal Championship

This family affair will have high stakes inside WWE Hell in a Cell.
Ad

The Tribal Chief will be up against his kin, Jey Uso, in a rematch for the Universal Championship. This family affair will take place inside WWE's most unforgiving structure with the added stipulation, making it an "I Quit" match. Reigns was victorious at WWE Clash of Champions in a match that only ended once Jimmy Uso finally threw in the towel on behalf of his brother.

The titleholder has taken his place at the head of the family table but Uso has refused to acknowledge him. Paul Heyman officially coronated Reigns as The Tribal Chief on SmackDown, but Reigns called out Uso to accept his status. The high-flyer declined, but he did agree to share the ring with his cousin once again in the “match with the highest-stakes in WWE history".

The Big Dog later revealed that the bout would also be an "I Quit" match, with serious consequences for the loser. As if the stakes couldn't get any higher, if Jey quits, he must fall in line and take orders from Reigns. If he refuses, The Tribal Chief will exile him and his entire family.

Ad

We can only see this going one way and that is Roman humiliating Uso and forcing him to utter the words "I Quit" before letting him leave the cell.

Our Pick: Roman Reigns to retain and kick off an evil stable with his cousins.
