The Royal Rumble is now merely two weeks away, which means that the 2018 Hall of Fame Class will begin being revealed very soon, although it seems that the headliner for this year's class has already been revealed as former Universal Champion Goldberg.
Goldberg was a legend during his time in WCW and held an undefeated streak that has only recently been beaten by Asuka. Goldberg may have been one of the top stars in WCW, but it seems that he waited a while after the close of WCW to then sign for WWE and his career with Vince McMahon's company apparently ended on bad terms.
Luckily, it seems that this was dealt with and Goldberg was able to return to the ring back in 2016 for the first time in more than 12 years and defeated Brock Lesnar in record time at Survivor Series.
He then defeated Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship at Fastlane before he was finally beaten by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is currently reporting that former Universal Champion Bill Goldberg is set to be the headliner for the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame and the company is set to make the announcement shortly.
There have been a number of rumours over the past few weeks that have said that either Goldberg or Batista would be headlining this year's class. It also means that The Undertaker isn't set to be taking his place amongst the elite of the business this year, which means that he could be returning for a potential WrestleMania match instead.
Shockingly Goldberg isn't one of the names that have been announced for RAW 25 in just over a weeks time, but his Hall of Fame induction could be announced in the next few weeks as the Road to WrestleMania is set to officially begin at The Royal Rumble in just two weeks time.
Goldberg deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, many fans didn't think that it would be so soon after his WrestleMania appearance and feud with Brock Lesnar, but as long as it doesn't lead to another pointless run in the company over the next few weeks then fans will be happy to see one of the biggest legends of the business take his place amongst wrestling's elite.
