#5 Jerry Lawler wants Sting vs Undertaker in a Boneyard match

Will we see Undertaker in more Boneyard matches?

The Undertaker faced AJ Styles in a Boneyard match at WrestleMania. The match had a cinematic presentation and was a big hit with both fans as well as Superstars and legends. The match was one of the best Undertaker has had at WrestleMania in recent years and fans are hopeful that WWE will do more of these in the future.

One WWE legend who definitely wants to see more Boneyard-style match featuring The Undertaker is Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler. He also has the perfect opponent in mind for Taker’s next opponent in the Boneyard:

"Now in this style, we could easily have The Undertaker in the match that they’ve always wanted to have forever, Sting. Can you imagine watching that in that cinematic style that the Boneyard Match was done in? It could be done. That was a perfect location for the Boneyard match in a cemetery. The Undertaker and Sting can be done in any kind of setting and it could be amazing.”

#4 Corey Graves thinking about returning to the ring

Corey Graves was inspired by Edge's return

Corey Graves found success in NXT before being forced into an untimely retirement in 2014. The former NXT Tag-Team Champion then changed lanes and worked at being a commentator. Graves was a natural fit to the commentary booth and after finding success in NXT, has since been on the commentary team of both RAW and SmackDown.

On a recent episode of his podcast, After The Bell, Corey Graves revealed that Edge’s return to the ring was inspiring him to consider a return to the ring himself. Here’s what Graves had to say:

"Watching it, honestly, man, it was inspiring. I would say at two or three different points I went, ‘Man, I live in Pittsburgh now. I should go find Dr. Maroon.’ It just gave me that urge to do this all over again, and I don’t know whether or not that’s a possibility, but the thought was planted in my brain for quite some time."

#3 CM Punk wants Drew McIntyre to stop being negative about himself

Drew McIntyre is now the WWE champion

Drew McIntyre challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania. McIntyre won the right to face Lesnar by winning the 2020 men’s Royal Rumble match and was also the one to eliminate Lesnar from it.

McIntyre beat Lesnar in a supremely impressive performance to win his first WWE Championship.

McIntyre later appeared on WWE Backstage and during the interview, spoke about his first run in WWE, suggesting that if he had won a world title back then the run might have been unsuccessful.

One person who was not happy with what McIntyre said was CM Punk. Punk took to Facebook to comment on it and told McIntyre to stop being so negative about himself. Here’s what CM Punk said:

"What about Drew McIntyre as new champ? good for him! Congratulations Drew McIntyre! I wish he would stop being so negative about himself, saying some nasty things about, like if he had been given an opportunity a few years ago, saying he would have s**ked. That's no attitude to have."

#2 Bayley reveals Vince McMahon’s reaction to her haircut

Bayley with Sasha Banks

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley spoke to Sporting News earlier this week. During the interview, Bayley spoke about her heel turn and how Vince McMahon reacted to her haircut. Here’s what she had to say:

"That whole day when I first did it I was like, "Oh, my God, I made a mistake. What did I just do?" I actually had to go see (WWE chairman) Vince (McMahon) to show him my hair. Once he saw it, he was like, "Oh, I love it, looks awesome." Then that calmed me down a little bit. But then I also had to come home to my fiance. He loves long hair and he was like, "Oh, no, I like it, looks good." I was like, "OK, I feel a little bit better about it." So I'd say it took about four days to where I was happy with."

Bayley successfully defended the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36 in a five-way match against Tamina, Lacey Evans, Naomi and her best friend Sasha Banks. Bayley accidentally struck Banks near the end of the match, giving Lacey Evans the chance to eliminate her. Banks was back in the ring after Bayley had eliminated Evans to win the match but there was clearly some kind of unspoken tension between them.

#1 The Undertaker teases retirement

Could The Undertaker be seriously considering retirement after the success of the Boneyard match?
Ad

The Undertaker beat AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 to win the Boneyard match. Taker returned to his Biker persona for the match and both entered and left the match in a chopper. Taker won the match by burying Styles under a pile of dirt although we did see AJ’s hand emerge from it once again.

This was one of Taker’s best WrestleMania matches in the last few years and a lot of people want more of these in the future. There are also rumors that Taker could continue wrestling in his Biker persona. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

As for Undertaker, the man himself seemed to tease retirement in an Instagram post following the Boneyard match:

A retirement right now seems a little unlikely, despite the Deadman’s tease. He could extend his career for a few more years with Boneyard-style cinematic matches and there are a number of top Superstars who would love to face him. We should find out more in coming weeks.
