Welcome to another edition of WWE News and Rumor Roundup, where we try and bring the biggest stories and updates from the world of WWE. In today's jam-packed edition, we will take a look at the ensuing situation involving Charlotte Flair and the rumors that she may be looking to leave WWE.
Flair has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons of late. She was involved in a backstage altercation with Becky Lynch and multiple reports have stated that she has become unpopular backstage. Apart from that, we will also see what Goldberg has to say after his win at WWE Crown Jewel.
So without further ado, let's dive in and take a look at the biggest rumors and news of the day:
#5 WWE official Sonya Deville had a backstage fight with Charlotte Flair
PWInsider has noted that Becky Lynch was not the only superstar Charlotte Flair had a backstage fight with at the SmackDown tapings. WWE Official Sonya Deville was very upset with The Queen over her behavior and the two were involved in a backstage altercation as well.
''Two different sources are saying that Sonya Deville was very angry with Flair and that she was “mad enough to want to fight Flair” at one point. It was said that Deville had an argument with Flair backstage at SmackDown.'' (H/t: WrestlingNews)
The issues arose between the women when Charlotte Flair went off-script during the title exchange segment on SmackDown which was being conducted by Sonya Deville. The report further stated that there have been multiple issues with Flair over the past few months.
The word is that she has become very self-indulgent and only looks out for herself. Becky Lynch was seen as a locker room hero for standing up to Flair. A WWE source told PWInsider that stars such as Flair always try to retain their power.
#4 WWE superstar Rhea Ripley would have been fired if she didn't cut her hair
Current WWE Women's tag team champion Rhea Ripley stated on Instagram that she would have been fired if she kept her hair long. Ripley, who sports a goth look with short hair, has been commended for her unique look and talent inside the ring.
As seen in the Instagram post above, a fan account asked a question about the possibility of Ripley keeping her hair long. The Nightmare replied to the question and stated: ''I would have been fired''
Rhea Ripley was being compared to Charlotte Flair during her early days because of the similarities in their looks. By changing her look and character, Ripley ensured that she stood out on her own.
#3 Brock Lesnar allegedly drafted to WWE SmackDown
The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar said he was a free agent when the WWE Draft was underway earlier this month. However, PWInsider has learned that the former WWE Champion has been assigned to SmackDown.
The report noted that Brock Lesnar is currently listed as part of the SmackDown roster. Another top name who went undrafted in the Draft was Asuka. She is apparently still assigned to the RAW brand.
Lesnar was last seen at SmackDown after Crown Jewel when he brutally attacked Adam Pearce. Lesnar has been suspended for now and will likely be out for months.
#2 Rumblings over WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair going to AEW
Dave Meltzer has reported that WWE is in a tricky situation with Charlotte Flair. There has been a lot of bad press for The Queen following her backstage confrontation with Becky Lynch. Here's what a source told Dave Meltzer:
“It’s a tricky situation, isn’t it? Does WWE just hand her over to AEW?,” said the source
PWInsider has now stated that there are people in Charlotte Flair's inner circle who have been pushing for her to somehow get out of her WWE deal. Considering that her father Ric Flair and partner Andrade El Idolo are no longer with WWE, it is understandable if she wants to leave.
''We are told that there were those in her circle that were privately pushing the idea of her trying to get out of her WWE deal, but realistically, no one expects that to actually happen as of this writing"
#1 Goldberg breaks silence after win at WWE Crown Jewel
Goldberg took to Instagram to describe his win over Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel. The former WCW star said he finally got revenge over Lashley for hitting his son at SummerSlam.
Goldberg and Lashley went to battle in what is being touted as Goldberg's best performance in WWE. The veteran came out as the winner of the match. The two last met at SummerSlam earlier this year. Lashley had won that match due to referee stoppage after Goldberg couldn't continue due to an injured knee.
