WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe recently spoke to Brian Fritz of SportingNews.com where he finally opened up about the chaos at Super ShowDown and his experience in the 50 man Battle Royal - the “biggest” match of his career.

The Samoan Destroyer recently spoke with Brian Fritz of SportingNews.com and expressed his thoughts on the pay-per-view and some other things related to the WWE.

In case you didn’t know

The WWE recently had an event in Saudi Arabia called Super ShowDown, which featured the biggest ever Battle Royal, consisting of 50 men. Samoa Joe was part of this match and was one of the few men eliminated towards the end. The event was held in “hot” conditions, which the stars were not really able to adjust to completely.

The heart of the matter

Talking in his interview about the match, Joe said:

No, I do not think anybody ever has. It was a chaotic scene, let me tell you that in 101-degree weather and a lot of human body heat. It was quite the inferno in that ring.

When asked if there is anything that can be done to adjust for that kind of conditions, he added,

That is the kind of heat you do not make adjustments for. You just realize it is going to suck really, really bad. You are going to have to grin and bear it. With the exception of maybe running sprints in a sauna, I do not think there is anything you can really do to prepare for that.

Well, though the event was in the news for many wrong reasons, this match was a decent one with local boy Mansoor winning it, which was a crowd pleaser.

What next?

WWE has been having events in Saudi Arabia and will want to continue to do so in the years to come. However, for their events to be successful and the wrestlers to have better matches, they need to get used to the heat. There were a lot of botches at Super ShowDown and the company will want to reduce those and having better pay-per-views, in the years to come.
