WWE RAW: 5 Biggest mistakes WWE made on the show this week (10 June 2019)

After a rather underwhelming WWE Super ShowDown this past Friday in Saudi Arabia, WWE came to us with the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

With less than two weeks remaining for WWE Stomping Grounds, fans were expecting the show to be exciting and build the card for the next PPV in an exciting way. What we got instead was the same old tough-to-go-through 3-hour long episode of Monday Night RAW with few positives wrapped between a bunch of negatives.

The first-ever Stomping Grounds PPV is shaping up to be a card of rematches as we've seen most of the matches go down not so long ago, and I'm genuinely concerned as to how WWE will build-up and hype the show to keep the fans interested.

#5 Little to no storyline progression for Stomping Grounds

The biggest issue with the episode of Monday Night RAW tonight was the almost insignificant storyline progression for the upcoming Stomping Grounds pay-per-view. Throughout the night, we saw Becky Lynch, and Lacey Evans take shots at each other in a same-old backstage interview, Shane McMahon coming out to praise himself and a Miz TV episode that ended in a brawl (as always!).

The only major storyline progression was the special guest referee stipulation added to the Universal Championship match between Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin at WWE Stomping Grounds. It will be interesting to see Sami or KO as the guest referee in the match, or even a surprise last-minute entrant.

There is no clarity in the United States title scene and we might get a random multi-person match at the upcoming PPV, which should be a great in-ring bout but with almost no storyline to back-it-up.

All the feuds for the Stomping Grounds PPV are looking as temporary make-shift ones which would end with none of the titles changing hands. I'm not hyped up for any of the matches and that might be the case with most of you as well.

Also, how can The Revival get a shot at the RAW Tag Team Titles after losing at Super ShowDown? At least we now have a proper tag champs, let's just hope the title gets some of its prestige back with these two as champions.

#4 The Lars Sullivan situation

In the latest WWE NEWS, the way the Super ShowDown match between Lars Sullivan and The Lucha House Party ended was a mistake in my opinion. That being Lars' first main roster PPV match, the DQ booking did not make sense.

What we saw on RAW tonight continued the no common sense booking as he was booked in a rematch with the trio and destroyed them badly. There was no point of letting him do this on RAW tonight rather than on a bigger stage like Super ShowDown.

Does tonight's annihilation mean that the awful feud between the two parties (no pun intended) is over? I do hope so.

It's sad to see a man with so much potential having such a week debut. Also, can we ever take the Lucha House Party seriously after this embarrassing feud? WWE sure does not know how to book it's tag teams.

Who do you think should be Sullivan's next opponent?

#3 Bayley getting pinned on TV

Not a way to book your top champion!
Ad

Call me a little old-school, but I'm not a fan of a top champion being pinned on TV unless it's necessary. Bayley had one of the biggest nights of her career at Money in the Bank last month when she not only became Miss Money in the Bank but also went on to cash it in the same night on Charlotte to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion.

Tonight on RAW, the two Women's champion from both the brands teamed up to take on their challengers for the upcoming Stomping Grounds PPV, Lacey Evans and Alexa Bliss in a tag team match. The ending of the match saw Lacey hitting a couple of Women's Rights to pin the SmackDown Women's Champion.

Bayley getting pinned on TV wasn't a good idea and WWE could have avoided it. First of all, why can't the two feuds for the two Women's Championship be built separately? What's the need of Bayley appearing on RAW to team with Becky?

#2 The IIconics being booked again as weak champions

The IIconics are easily the worst booked champions in WWE right now. Winning the titles on a stage as huge as WrestleMania, fans were expecting them to have a good reign. There were a lot of ways to make these two heel's title reign interesting, but what WWE chose to do is awful.

After continuously losing matches and getting pinned week after week on RAW and SmackDown, fans had started complaining about their weak bookings. While they finally got a win on tonight's show, it was against two local wrestlers. The whole segment and match did nothing but kill time.

It would be apt to say that fans have lost all hopes from this title reign and WWE should take the titles off them as soon as possible before fans do the same with the whole Women's Tag Team division and Championship.

Asuka and Kairi save us, please!

#1 Drew McIntyre's less threatening avatar

Not long ago, Drew McIntyre was the fearless monster who wanted to destroy everything on his path and reach the top of the WWE mountain. But the Scottish Psychopath has tumbled down on his way and is somewhat a sidekick of Shane McMahon right now. How sad is that!

After helping Shane win his match against Roman Reigns at WWE Super ShowDown, McIntyre came out on RAW tonight in unusual attire. His fancier clothing did make him seem a lot less threatening as compared to his usual ring attire. Why would someone like McIntyre who can destroy Shane in a split second play second-fiddle to him?

With him scheduled to take-on Roman Reigns in a WrestleMania rematch at Stomping Grounds, and also rumored to team-up with Shane for a Handicap match against Reigns at Extreme Rules next month, this feud looks far from over.

Is it doing anyone any good? Losing to Reigns again in a span of a few months would drop Drew's stock a lot and might also turn the fans against Roman again.
