WWE Raw: 5 Possible reasons why Lacey Evans attacked Becky Lynch

Tonight's episode of RAW after WrestleMania 35 was surely filled with many surprises, including the World Title unification match between Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston, the debut of Lars Sullivan, and former NXT star Lacey Evans finally getting right in the middle of the action instead of just walking up and down the ramp.

With new Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion, Becky Lynch addressing the WWE Universe following her historic win from last night, Evans decided to interrupt 'The Man', however, instead of another random interruption, the former NXT sensation actually laid down the first shot Lynch.

The two ladies quickly ignited a wild brawl and Evans sure did prove that she is more than capable of hanging in the ring with the toughest of superstars' and isn't someone to mess around with.

That being said, there must be some sort of reason why Evans decided to blindside Lynch and without any further ado, let's get to the likeliest of options why she did so.

#5 Becky Lynch's first challenger

Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans could possibly face each other in the near future

With Becky Lynch now being in possession of two championships, 'The Man' sure does have a big target on her back, as almost the entirety of the WWE women's division will look to step up to the plate and challenge for either the Raw or SmackDown Women's Championship.

Lynch, for one, has already promised to be a fighting champion and for her first challenger, WWE could very well give Evans the nod. Through her tenure on NXT, Evans sure did share the ring with some of the absolute best and a match with Becky Lynch in the near future promises to be another exciting encounter as well.

The two could have a match at the upcoming pay-per-view with either the Raw or the SmackDown Women's Championship on the line. Well, considering the brawl took place on Raw, I'd expect the Raw Women's Title to be on the line.

#4 To finally get Lacey Evans to do something meaningful

Lacey Evans finally made a statement on Raw

Ever since being called up to the main roster, Lacey Evans technically hasn't done anything useful other than just walk up and down the ramp and causing random interruptions here and there.

So much so, that the WWE Universe was also treated to Evans causing interference during WrestleMania 35 as well.

However, now that WrestleMania 35 is all said and done, it was finally about time Evans did something useful instead of wasting the WWE Universe's time and on the Raw after 'Mania, 'The Southern Sassy Belle' sure did make an impact by attacking Becky Lynch and setting her sights on the new double champion.

Now, whether or not Evans has actually set her sights on either one Becky's titles remains as the big question, however, to have her attack the hottest superstar in the company on a night like this was surely good enough for a start.

#3 To send a message to the rest of the roster

The rest of the division has been put on notice

Like mentioned in the previous point, Lacey Evans surely hasn't done much since making her debut on the main roster, however, tonight on Raw she sure did make a big statement by attacking Becky Lynch.

Now, for instance, the majority of the WWE Universe would think that Evans' goal is to challenge Becky Lynch for her title belts and personally, that's what I think we're going to get as well.

However, this brutal attack on 'The Man' could genuinely mean that Evans is also keen on sending a message to the rest of the women's division and to the WWE Universe and change their minds about the fact that the former US Marines veteran isn't actually here to waste anyone's time.

Rather, Evans is here to make a statement and considering the fact that she stood up to the current leader of the women's division pretty much means that nobody should consider themselves safe from 'The Southern Sassy Belle'.

#2 WWE might be planning on crowning a new SmackDown Women's Champion

Lacey had her sights set on Becky all this time

Being a double champion surely isn't an easy job, as one would have to defend both titles simultaneously and the same goes for the 'champ-champ' Becky Lynch who will now have to defend both of her titles on a regular basis.

However, if you look at it, Lynch's main goal from the start has been to defeat Ronda Rousey and capture her title, that being, the Raw Women's Championship. Lynch has already held the SmackDown Women's Title in the past as well and defending both titles on the get-go will certainly not be an easy job for 'The Man'.

Therefore, WWE could very well plan on having Lacey Evans challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship and might as well put the blue title around her waist, just to ease the pressure on 'The Man'.

Nevertheless, if you've been following Lacey Evans' work, then you definitely should be familiar with the fact that the former NXT star is more than capable of being a champion and is definitely worthy of being a champion.

#1 Lacey has a bigger fish to fry first!

Why not?

Surely, the biggest fish to fry on this occasion for Lacey Evans would be to challenge Becky Lynch to a match and take one or maybe even both her titles from her.

However, another major possibility for Evans here would be to have her use Becky Lynch as a stepping stone and eventually go on to challenge the one female superstar who has arguably been one of WWE's biggest acquisitions of all time.

That one particular star being, now-former Raw Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey. 'The Baddest Woman On The Planet' suffered her first loss in the WWE at WrestleMania 35 but despite that, there is certainly no doubt in the star power that Rousey possesses.

If Lacey Evans is keen on making a name for herself, then she might just challenge Becky Lynch to a match in the first place, only to eventually shift her focus on Ronda Rousey. A match with the Rousey could do wonders for Evans and a win would definitely cement Evans' place as the next big star in the making.
