WWE RAW: 5 Reasons why Bray Wyatt was repackaged & the Firefly Fun House was introduced 

We'd all seen the creepy vignettes for days on end. We'd all made many speculations about how Bray Wyatt's new persona would essentially be. And then finally, we saw Bray Wyatt emerge in a brand new avatar. But it was not the same creepy weird cult leader persona that we were all used to!

Instead, it was a happier, quirkier Bray Wyatt whose new persona was creepy, albeit in a completely different manner. Why did WWE decide to change up one of their most popular characters? I shall attempt to answer this very question in this article.

#5 A fresh new start for Wyatt

I had a chance to interview Matt Hardy when he was doing media rounds in India. Back then, he'd told me why we'd not seen Bray Wyatt on television in so long:

I think Bray needed a little time off. He'd had a car accident. So, I think it was just a little bit of time off for everyone. So, I think you'll see an evolution of Bray Wyatt and an evolution of Matt Hardy.

This is certainly an evolution of sorts for Wyatt, because even though there's an element of horror to the gimmick, it's not as outright supernatural as The Undertaker's old persona. It's more on the lines of Waylon Mercy, a character you should YouTube, if you are not familiar with him yet. In fact, Mercy The Buzzard could really be a nod to Waylon Mercy.

But it freshens Wyatt's character up. It totally allows him to do somethng new!

#4. A chance to introduce new characters

So, I'm hoping I got the names right, but Bray Wyatt also promised us that we'd get to see Mercy The Buzzard and Pammy The Witch in the weeks that follow. That allows us to speculate about who these two characters can potentially be. Let me get the two obvious suspects out of the way, right away, folks.

So, SAnitY had an ill-fated run in the main roster even though they were a big deal back when they were a part of WWE NXT. I think Eric Young and Nikki Cross could certainly be the new Wyatt Family, led by the puppetmaster Bray Wyatt. The two of them would fit the role perfectly and it would elevate both of them.

Of course, they could have been introduced as The Wyatt Family, but this could be more deranged. It's certainly the biggest talking point from this week on RAW.

#3. A storyline where he fights his dark side

I know that I'm probably going to get a lot of raised eyebrows for saying this, but I think that the Firefly Fun House could be a lot creepier than your usual Wyatt Family themed storyline. Because this seems like Wyatt has let go of his dark side entirely, and become a total babyface character.

But then, the darkness lurks somewhere deep within and Wyatt is doing everything in his power to contain the same. If there's anyone in the WWE roster who can pull this storyline off, it is Bray Wyatt.

It is this drama that will keep us glued to our television sets in the weeks that follow. Isn't it a lot better than having Bray Wyatt shoot lighting out of his fingers like he did during the Undertaker/Kane feud?

WWE probably feels the same way about this change-up.

#2. A chance to finally become a babyface

Now, you may say that Bray Wyatt was a babyface when he was in a tag team with Matt Hardy, right? Yes, you are right in a way but I mean a babyface in the truest sense of the word, as a breakout singles performer. Wyatt finally has the chance to realize his potential and fulfil his destiny as a babyface, if only for a few short days.

During the RAW Tag Team title run, it was very odd to see Wyatt say 'wonderful' and 'delightful' in the same way that Matt Hardy did. Sure, he did embrace the gimmick, but Wyatt is a creative guy on his own and he did not need to rely on Matt Hardy's tricks really. He could have come up with his own stuff.

This is his chance to do just that and show to the world what he is capable of as a babyface, before the inevitable heel turn takes place. I urge you guys to give this gimmick a chance.

#1. WWE had no creative direction with the old character

I know that a lot of people are bemoaning the fact that we won't get to see the old Bray Wyatt on TV anymore, because of this brand new gimmick. But does anyone remember the fact that back when Bray Wyatt played the old character, there just seemed to be a definite lack of direction for him?

I mean he would come on TV and mumble a few incoherent sentences, week after week. This was especially true during Bray Wyatt's feud with Finn Balor, where it just seemed like WWE had completely run out of ideas entirely.

The same could be said for the time that he turned babyface and aligned himself with Matt Hardy as well. I daresay that had the union happened on Impact Wrestling, it would have worked out better.

This could be the best thing that happened to Bray Wyatt, in a while.
