Bray Wyatt made a terrifying return to action on RAW

WWE RAW: 5 Reasons why Bray Wyatt made his big return by attacking Finn Balor

Thanks to our very own Nick Paglino who was live in attendance at RAW for the pictures used in this very article (except for the cover image). What a show he chose to show up in, considering it marked the return of Bray Wyatt.

The fact of the matter is that a lot of people had been waiting for this moment from the time that the Firefly Fun House vignettes started airing after WrestleMania 35. And the fact that it happened in the manner that it did has got more than one fan excited.

Why did Bray Wyatt choose to show up following a match between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor to make his grand return? Let me try and answer this question in this article.

#5 Unfinished business with Finn Balor

A few years ago, it was teased that Bray Wyatt would take on The Demon at TLC. The only twist was that he would do this in his 'Sister Abigail' persona, something that would be debuted on this grand stage, a twist that never came to pass. This is because Wyatt faced medical issues at the show, as a result of which he had to pull out to the dismay of fans.

AJ Styles would replace Bray Wyatt at the show and go on to have a classic against Finn Balor. While the two men were on different brands, the storyline reason given was that Daniel Bryan, the SmackDown GM had allowed this twist, if only for a special night.

But fans never got to witness this mouthwatering contest, and it is still spoken about. This may be a chance to give them what they want, as Batista would say.

#4 Showdown with The Demon at SummerSlam?

One thing that we know for sure is that Finn Balor only brings out the 'Demon' character at big shows. It is considered a special attraction, and when Balor is in 'Demon' mode, he is also heavily protected. Therefore, if Wyatt were to defeat 'The Demon', one assumes that it'll be a very big deal indeed.

'The Demon' has never lost on the main roster. One has to go back all the way to NXT to see the Demon character lose a match. One assumes that because Wyatt is the bigger headline, he will come out as the winner in the upcoming contest.

So when Wyatt does defeat The Demon, it may not necessarily be the best thing for Balor, but Wyatt is clearly the hotter commodity now. It may also ignite a rivalry that could potentially stretch out over the next few months.

#3 A chance to write Balor off, putting over Wyatt strongly

Pro Wrestling Sheet recently reported that Finn Balor has asked for some time off after SummerSlam. This is a two month sabbatical seemingly to recharge his batteries.

I'm guessing that this is the reason why he's been inserted into the feud and has been taken out of the Intercontinental Championship feud. The fact of the matter is that he could have lost to Shinsuke Nakamura because of the very same reason as well.

Now this allows for Bray Wyatt to have a great showing at WWE SummerSlam. Wyatt could take out all his ire and all his fury on Balor and dismantle him for a long period of time, setting the stage for a big return of The Demon at some point somewhere down the line.

If this is booked in the right manner, this feud can stretch all the way to WrestleMania.

#2 The puppets lost their charm a long time ago

What a treat it was for the fans in attendance

So the Firefly Fun House segments were awesome back when they aired. They were almost universally beloved by the WWE Universe until they just stopped airing one week. And since then, we've only seen Bray Wyatt's puppets show up in backstage segments, the charm of which wore out fast.

And I am assuming that Vince McMahon could sense it, which is why he waited for the fallout episode of Extreme Rules to book Wyatt's return. I am assuming that while he could have sanctioned a whole new season of the Firefly Fun House, another set of episodes, that would have been overkill.

People wanted to see how Wyatt would transition from the vignettes to the ring. And this week, they got their answer when they saw 'The Fiend' show up at WWE RAW.

#1 Marking the start of the new Paul Heyman era

Bray Wyatt's return is the biggest surprise from this RAW

Yes, we all know that Paul Heyman has been in charge of creative on RAW for some time. But according to reports, he would officially assume control of the red brand in the Executive Director role following Extreme Rules.

What better way to tell the world that he was in the driver's seat than with a segment that got many tongues wagging? As wrestling fans, I know that all of you must be super kicked about the fact that Heyman has creative control over this character.

You know that with Wyatt's vision and Heyman's creativity, we are in for some exciting television in the weeks to come. The lighting that was used in this segment was indicative of the fact that WWE has a lot invested in this particular character.

It's not everyday that we're excited as wrestling fans, but things could pick up soon.
