WWE RAW: 5 Surprises that could happen- Tag team breaks up, Legend attacked by The Fiend

WWE RAW this week should be an interesting show as we come up on the quarter-final round of the King of the Ring tournament. Clash of Champions is some time away but it will be a pivotal week when it comes to building up the card leading up to the show.

In this article, let us look at 5 surprises that could potentially happen on this show. I invite you to leave a comment and let me know if you believe any of them could happen, and indeed if you want any of them to happen.

Also, who do you think is going all the way in the King of the Ring tournament then? Do you have a favorite?

But why waste time on a prelude when we can jump straight into the heart of the matter...

#5 Ricochet defeats Joe, gets double teamed by Joe and McIntyre

Many predicted that the King of the Ring tournament would mark the coronation of Drew McIntyre, and finally establish him as the top dog of the red brand. This was not to be as Ricochet defeated McIntyre in what was the biggest upset on RAW, in some time. No offense to Ricochet, but McIntyre was always touted as the next big star, from his very first run, and somehow, it hasn't yet come to pass.

Therefore, it's all too likely that when Ricochet invariably upsets Samoa Joe in the quarter finals of the tournament, Samoa Joe and Drew McIntyre will team up to destroy Ricochet. This will make him the underdog going into the next round and potentially facing someone like Baron Corbin, who should have no trouble at all in defeating Cedric Alexander in the other Quarter Final round.

Ricochet could go into the finals with major injuries. And yet, he could triumph against these massive odds.

#4 Rey Mysterio gets attacked by The Fiend

So far, The Fiend has attacked three WWE legends. The first was Mick Foley at the RAW Reunion episode, the second was Kurt Angle in his hometown before a shocked audience, and his most recent victim was none other than Jerry 'The King' Lawler, and if you remember correctly, WWE made a big deal about him hosting a special segment on WWE RAW. Well, they're making a big deal of the fact that Rey Mysterio is returning to RAW, and that makes me wonder!

Mysterio is a legend, but the difference in his case is that he can actually fight back. He's also at the tail end of what has been a wonderful career, and his objective right now may be to put others over. He has done the honors for Andrade and elevated his career to no end and I do believe that he could very well, do the same for someone like Wyatt.

Wyatt vs. Mysterio also sounds like a pretty big deal for an event like Clash of Champions and even though the results may be obvious at the very outset, it is still a very high-profile match indeed.

#3 The Viking Raiders find a third man to even up the numbers

There was a huge Tag Team turmoil match last week that was eventually won by Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler, who discovered the fact that they have insane chemistry when the bell rings, but that was not the only headline coming out of the match. The OC and The Viking Raiders are at odds and it is clear that WWE will be exploring this rivalry in the weeks to follow.

Now The OC clearly has the upper hand when it comes to numbers because AJ Styles is a part of this collective, and so The Viking Raiders may need an ally going forward. I think that the best person that they could potentially choose to join their ranks is Aleister Black.

Black vs. Styles is a route that hasn't been explored yet and I think that it could make for a very interesting matchup, when the time is right, because both men are truly exemplary in-ring workers. And while you may disagree with me, I really don't think the whole shtick with Black sitting in a dark room, waiting for challengers, is really working.

Two Vikings and the devil's priest make for a formidable team!

#2 A new team challenges Cross and Bliss

It is clear that the Natalya saga of the Sasha Banks-Becky Lynch rivalry is over because The Man and The Boss will have to square off ahead of the Clash of Champions clash. We also know that Charlotte Flair and Bayley will be a part of the SmackDown Women's Championship picture, meaning that all four Horsewomen will be engaged at Clash of Champions. So where does that leave someone like Natalya then?

I have a feeling that she could potentially team up with someone like Dana Brooke, and become her mentor, so to speak, to guide her to the next level as a performer. Remember the segments that they worked with one another earlier this year, that unfortunately went nowhere at all? Maybe, they could try to explore this angle and actually become a team on RAW.

The fact of the matter is that Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss have run through every single women's tag team in the roster and it is necessary for new blood to step up to them and challenge them. The Women's Tag Team Championships unfortunately feel like an afterthought at this point and that's a shame because Nikki and Alexa can make almost any segment work.

#1 Braun Strowman turns on Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman could potentially have been the most dominant duo in WWE history, had Rollins not been the Universal Champion. But unfortunately, because Rollins holds two titles, Strowman is not necessarily focused upon being a good tag team partner for Rollins, but instead is gunning for his other prized possession.

I think that this could potentially be the week where Braun Strowman turns on his partner and makes his intentions known to the world - which will make it awkward for Clash of Champions because, like it or not, every Champion has to defend his/her title at the pay-per-view, meaning that Strowman and Rollins will have to team up nevertheless.

I think it's all too likely that this week will mark the end of the camaraderie we see between Strowman and Rollins, but the good news is that this will still be a longer-lived alliance than Strowman and Nicholas were. So the big question is whether you think Strowman could become the Universal Champion at Clash of Champions, and if he'll make a good Champion.
