WWE RAW: 5 Surprises that could happen - The Fiend threatens another legend, Strange alliance

WWE has really been amping it up with some great programming over the past few weeks, but because it has been facing stiff competition primarily from the NFL, the numbers have been dropping. This week, WWE will need to do something special to remind viewers that RAW is the show to watch on Monday night.

And the best way to achieve the same is through surprises galore. I can only speculate as to what will happen at the show and in this article, I will suggest 5 potential surprises that could take the show by storm.

As always, I want you to let me know what surprises you would like to see on the show. Also, what did you think of the fact that WWE already did Seth Rollins vs. The Fiend at a Live Event in Calgary, presumably for rehearsal reasons?

Also, what did you think of NXT on the USA Network?

#5 The Fiend challenges Sting

Did you notice that Bray Wyatt has a wall in the Firefly Fun House where he hangs an image of the victims he's conquered? What if we go to the Fun House and there, we see a picture of Sting, who's scheduled to be at SmackDown on FOX? It'll definitely change the dynamics entirely because, for a change, the man he's about to conquer will be ready for The Fiend (although I wonder what good it'll do).

Wyatt has been a huge fan of Sting growing up and I'm sure that to face off against a similar supernatural being who's known for his mind games would be a big deal for Wyatt personally. But more importantly, Sting has always maintained that he'll come back for another match if need be, and a clash with The Fiend will be a very big deal.

#4 Braun Strowman teams up with Goldberg for another match

This may seem a little far-fetched to you but who would have thought that Goldberg would return for another match just to face off against Dolph Ziggler in what was essentially a squash contest? Now, we all know that a video of their altercation surfaced not long ago days after their match. There's no way that this was a shoot and this is most definitely an angle that is leading to something else down the line.

Now the oddest thing about last week was that Braun Strowman came after the Tag Team Champions and this makes me wonder if WWE is planning an alliance between him and Goldberg to go after the tag team titles. And such an alliance, after becoming the RAW Tag Team Champions could have matches against mastodons like the War Raiders and the AoP. I know that a lot of tag team purists may not like this pairing but casual fans may just love it, and it will certainly help Goldberg work long matches and just come in after a hot tag, to deliver his spear and jackhammer!

It may not be the best decision per se, but it's certainly guaranteed ratings!

#3 The AoP makes a big return

Everyone seems to dig the new look of the AoP and I certainly think there's much scope for the two in their brand new personas if they choose to show up as hired muscle for a top WWE Superstar. Someone like Shane McMahon immediately comes to me, and these two men could be his muscle against the likes of Kevin Owens in the near future.

But there's a chance to also repackage other Superstars and possibly align Akam and Rezar with someone like Samoa Joe to form a sharp-dressed trio for hire, out for massacre. Could we see this fearsome twosome make their return to RAW this week, to take out a team like Hawkins and Ryder?

The fact of the matter is that Akam and Rezar size up brilliantly against The War Raiders and they could potentially light the stage up with some physical contests in the days that follow, in addition to elevating Gallows and Anderson who've become little more than henchmen. They've warned us that the future will be written in pain.

I certainly like this new repackaged look a lot more than their pairing with Drake Maverick, which was very embarrassing.

#2 Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have new challengers

This week on SmackDown Live, we saw a very strange little alliance formed between Carmella and Charlotte Flair. It is very clear at the moment that there's no place for Charlotte Flair in the SmackDown Women's Championship picture because the current plans are to possibly build the division around Bayley. Bayley has been a great representative for the division and she has become a main-event player, proving what we all knew right from the days when she was a newcomer in NXT.

It is very clear that Carmella will be moved out of the 24/7 Championship picture, going forward. Carmella has a lot of talent and as entertaining as she is, she can be used much better than simply as R-Truth's sidekick. So now that her and Charlotte Flair have formed some sort of an alliance could they challenge Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross next?

Bliss and Cross are currently out of challengers having run through the division, and what they possibly need at this stage are fresh challengers like Carmella and Charlotte Flair. Because of the nuclear heat that Charlotte Flair invariably gets, Paul Heyman has a great chance to turn Bliss and Cross babyface too.

#1 Brand new challenger for the US Title

We see so many legends in the industry return for yet another run and they are only a shadow of the Superstars that they once used to be back in their prime. But I challenge you to look at the WWE Network and watch an episode of Nitro and tell me that the current incarnation of Rey Mysterio even is a step slower.

AJ Styles is yet another man who's come up from WCW and although he wrestles a far more measured style now, he's arguably the best professional wrestler on the face of the planet going at an intensity that very few can match. I think that a program between the two men will be one that could really elevate the United States Championship to a new level.

Now that Cedric Alexander is in the past, I wonder if Mysterio could be next for the Phenomenal One, for the prized United States Championship. It would be very interesting to see how WWE can potentially include his son Dominick into the mix, perhaps to even the odds against Luke Gallows and Anderson.
