WWE RAW Preview- Mystery opponent to show up, Clash between 2 current Champions confirmed

This week's edition of RAW is going to be absolutely packed with action and excitement galore for the fans. WWE has already advertised quite a solid episode of RAW and if you weren't planning to watch it, I would say that you should keep your Monday night free to try and experience all the action.

Let's have a look at the card in this RAW preview and maybe you can tell me in the comments what you are excited about, dear reader. I would love to hear from you and also, on the heels of a great episode of SmackDown, would like to know what RAW can do differently to be just as entertaining.

So, without further ado, here is the best and worst of WWE RAW.

#5 Apollo Crews to defend his Championship against an opponent of his choosing on RAW

As a WWE fan, it is always a lot of fun when a mystery opponent is advertised because you never know who is really going to show up. Because of the whole brand-to-brand invitational rule, who knows if a SmackDown Superstar could potentially show up on RAW and take on Apollo Crews in a classic? Maybe it could be someone from NXT, coming to RAW for his first taste of the spotlight against the current reigning and defending United States Champion.

Bear in mind that AJ Styles has permanently gone over to WWE SmackDown which means that someone could be traded to RAW and it could be a phenomenal worker like Cesaro or even potentially someone who hasn't been on the show for a while like Robert Roode.

Whatever the case may be, we all know that Monday Night is going to be a spectacle of Apollo Crews and his massive talent.

#4 Two Champions are set to collide on RAW this week

Asuka may have Nia Jax in her crosshairs but it turns out that Charlotte Flair is a more immediate threat for her, because the two women have been confirmed for a Champion vs. Champion match on RAW. This is not likely to be a title match because one cannot imagine either of the Championships changing hands on RAW, of all places, but the fact of the matter is that this is pretty much guaranteed to be a spectacular affair.

But the one thing to remember when you're watching RAW is that the threat of Nia Jax will be ever looming. Asuka and Nia Jax have a confirmed match at RAW and one can only assume that this episode of RAW will be a platform to build the feud in the best manner possible.

At WrestleMania 34, it was Charlotte Flair who ended Asuka's streak and if there is one thing we know about the Empress of Tomorrow, she does not often forget these embarrassing losses.

#3 Seth Rollins and Aleister Black will battle on RAW this week

If you look at the tweet that I have linked above, it is amply clear that while a one-on-one match has been advertised for RAW this week, this contest will be anything but a fair fight when the bell actually rings. I mean not only does Seth Rollins have Murphy, a man who has been by his side for a very long time to watch his back, but he also has a brand new recruit to his cult, a man who joined his stable on a recent recruit of RAW- Austin Theory.

It will be very interesting to see who comes out on top in this contest considering that Aleister Black is someone who has been protected since his arrival to RAW and he clearly wins a lot more matches than he loses, while Seth Rollins is one of the company's top stars and it will be very weird indeed to see him take a loss from someone lower down the card especially with the numbers advantage.

#2 A bowling contest on RAW

Over the past few weeks on RAW, we have seen the oddest contests from ax-throwing competitions to golf matches with cameos from alligators to basketball clashes where the contestants don't even know the rules. This week, The Viking Raiders and the RAW Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits will go bowling on RAW to see which team can get the upper hand. I can't necessarily say that I am a fan of such a segment, but hey, if it works for you, I'm glad.

In any case, what is a guarantee is that these two teams will 'sports entertain' us before their inevitable clash for the RAW Tag Team Championships. There aren't too many teams on the RAW roster that can technically take The Street Profits on, but the groundwork is being set with Andrade and Angel Garza as well as Austin Theory and Murphy in the other RAW faction.

Also here's wishing Montez Ford a very happy birthday and an assurance that indeed, we do want the smoke!

#1 Rey Mysterio to finish his career on WWE RAW

If you have around 30 minutes to spare, please click on the link shared above and listen to our wrestling panelists Tom Colohue and Korey Gunz discuss Rey Mysterio's potential retirement on RAW on the weekly podcast that Sportskeeda brings you, steaming hot and fresh, every Thursday. Not only do they discuss RAW and everything that happened during the show, but also developments from SmackDown, NXT, and even beyond WWE when the news calls for a discussion.

Listen, the retirement ceremony on RAW is obviously staged because it's going to be hosted by none other than Seth Rollins. I believe, as our experts do as well, that this ceremony could be a great way to bring Dominick Mysterio back into the mix again.

The possibility of Dominick potentially turning heel and joining Seth Rollins' alliance has been brought up in the past and one could certainly see it happen because he could certainly benefit from working under Rollins and could also work matches against his father, who could put him on the map in a series of classics.
