Sin Cara, Luke Harper and The Ascension’s Konnor and Viktor were released by WWE over the weekend and it looks like that has given hope to a few others. Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue has reported that there could be a few more releases as some Superstars are looking at this as a window of opportunity.

On the latest episode of Dropkick DiSKussions, he said:

“From what I can tell, there are a small number of people who are now looking at this as an opportunity to potentially get released, but when it comes to things like this, we’ll have to wait and see.

“There are a number of people that the WWE will not let go and there are a number of people who they won’t let go because they are too valuable, whereas at the moment the people who were released were considered not valuable enough.

“So I think people who feel themselves that they are not too valued or do not feel valuable will be looking at this as an opportunity, and that’s the information that I’ve been getting.”

Mike Kanellis is the only WWE Superstar who has not been granted his release despite requesting it. All the others who requested their release have been granted their wish.

2 Superstars suspended by WWE

WWE have confirmed that Robert Roode and Primo Colon have been suspended for 30 days after they violated the company’s Wellness Policy.

Ryan Satin of Pro-Wrestling Sheet was the first to report this news, saying: “Sources tell us Robert Roode and Primo Colon have been hit with 30-day suspensions this week due to the violations. It’s unclear at this time what was found in their systems.”

Roode is expected to be in the company for some time while reports suggest The Colons could be on their way out.

Backstage news on Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman was pulled from Live Events due to an injury and WWE revealed it to be an issue with his hip. However, Dave Meltzer has now revealed that it is not a hip injury but back spasms.

The Wrestling Observer journalist has revealed that Strowman was supposed to be involved in a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura but the injury put that on hold. Talking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, the journalist said:

Braun Strowman is hurt. Yeah, they were supposed to do the angle on Friday but Strowman got hurt and they couldn't do the angle. That was on the card a week ago and Braun got hurt. One person told me back spasms, but the official company line is that he's got a hip injury that's not serious and it's only a couple of days. But he missed all the weekend house shows.

He ended by saying that there is no update on Braun's condition.

Corey Graves took a dig at Mauro Ranallo on Twitter during NXT TakeOver War Games and that kept the NXT commentator out of duty at Survivor Series. PW Insider have now reported that there will be no action taken against the SmackDown commentator and there will be no fallouts.

There’s not expected to be any more fallout from the Corey Graves/Mauro Ranallo Twitter issue, as a source told PW Insider Elite Vince McMahon “loves Corey Graves”.

Graves has already issued an apology to Ranallo. He said that it was only done to stir up a little controversy and also use it to talk about on TV or on the pay-per-view. In his apology, Graves said:

It was maybe not the most professional way to go about things and it was never meant to offend or disrespect or disparage anybody. That was never my intention. If it was taken as such, I apologise deeply. That was not my intention. I would never intentionally cause anybody any undue stress, especially a co-worker, so I apologise.

The apology was issued on After The Bell – WWE's official podcast.
