WWE Rumor Roundup: Another Superstar asks for release; John Cena hints at WrestleMania 36 opponent and more – 11th November 2019
In today's roundup, we take a look at Shane McMahon's WWE status, the EVOLVE star who is eyeing a move to WWE, Stone Cold's podcast returning soon with The Undertaker and more!

Sin Cara asks for release from WWE
Sin Cara has become the 6th WWE Superstar to ask for his release this year! The former NXT Tag Team champion tweeted out a statement earlier today and revealed that he made the decision last night.
His statement towards the end read: ”Last night, after praying and considering, thinking about the future of my children, I made one of the most difficult yet sensible decisions in my wrestling career. I have requested my release from WWE."
Sin Cara thanked WWE for the opportunity and said that he was forever grateful to them. He also went on to thank the WWE Universe for their continued support.
Reports have since emerged that the Superstar has 3 years left on his current deal and WWE have not yet made a decision on his release. Mike Kanellis, The Revival, Luke Harper and Tye Dillinger are the other stars who requested their release this year.
John Cena hints at his WrestleMania 36 opponent
Randy Orton challenged John Cena for a match at WrestleMania 36, and now it looks like the 16-time WWE Champion is up for it! The leader of Cenation has revealed that he will be a part of WrestleMania, but does not decide the matches.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, he said:
"I wasn’t even aware of that. I never make the matches, I’m just grateful to be able to perform in WWE. Every day away from it, I miss it more and more and more. I’m becoming more honest with myself about how much I miss it. I’m very eager to get back into a WWE ring soon.”
“And on the subject of WrestleMania, I can tell you this—I haven’t missed a WrestleMania since my first appearance at WrestleMania 19, and I do not plan to miss a WrestleMania for decades to come.”
Cena did not have a match at WrestleMania 35, but he appeared in a segment with Elias.
Shane McMahon is still “fired”
Shane McMahon has revealed that he is still “fired” from WWE. The Best In The World took to Twitter to post about John Cena's new movie, Playing With Fire.
Shane was fired from WWE after he lost his match against Kevin Owens. The former ScmakDown Live commissioner has not been on TV ever since, and there are reportedly no plans to bring him back soon.
Dave Meltzer reported on Shane a few weeks back and said that while he is not gone for good, he won't be appearing on TV for some time. He said on Wrestling Observer: “He’s got nothing right now. You’re never gone. It appears that he is not going to be on TV for a while.”
Rumors suggest that it won't be too long before Shane is back. He returned just before WrestleMania 32 and was on WWE TV ever since.
Stone Cold's new interview series to debut with The Undertaker
Stone Cold Steve Austin has confirmed that he will be returning to WWE Network with a new podcast/interview series! The first guest on his show is going to be the legendary Undertaker and the show is set to air from November 24th.
“Mark has been doing The Undertaker for 30 years and he has had one of the greatest runs in the history of the business. He’s stayed in character all this time. He’s made a few appearances on some talk shows way back in the day, but no one has really ever heard from Mark Calaway the man…I think he was enthusiastic because he has been quiet for so long so now he has the chance to share some stories like everyone else has. He’s had one of the most high-profile careers and, back in his heyday, had some of the most outlandish stories from the road. We had a great time shooting the breeze,” Austin told Variety.
Anthony Henry says WWE is the next logical step
EVOLVE has become the pathway to WWE for a lot of Superstars and Anthony Henry could be the next in line. He has already wrestled with the likes of WALTER, The Street Profits, Matt Riddle and Roderick Strong during his time with EVOLVE and they might have some good things to say about him to WWE.
Talking to Fightful, Henry said that a move to WWE would be the logical step for him:
"I can't go into too much detail, but I will say that I think there are some possibilities in the future/near future that some things could work out. I'm not saying anything is confirmed or semi-confirmed, but there could be some room for discussion, hopefully soon. We'll see what happens. Working with EVOLVE and the NXT crew that comes down to help out, that's the goal. If you're signed with EVOLVE, [WWE/NXT] is probably where you want to be. That's the next logical step for me.”
